This series alone may be the reason my faith is rekindled and I become Orthodox. The very opening salvos of this reading speak to my doubts and concerns about the various worldviews presented to me. They seem schismatic and based on fallacious concepts and absurd quibblings over minor tidbits in scripture. Even if I reject these many denominations, I am presented with Catholicism, which openly centers around popery and the infallibility of said pope, and I find I cannot willingly accept a religion of half-truths simply because it is more grounded than the rest of the Lutheran churches. I always held positive feelings about Orthodoxy, and I greatly enjoyed the various tidbits of knowledge and quotes that have been passed around at times. But, indeed it feels foreign to me as a Westerner. Perhaps it is that this foreign feeling is because I did not ever have the proper grounding of participation in the only Church that has remained faithful since it's inception. I was raised among heretics after all. I viewed it as Eastern and not really acceptable to me, culturally. I will have to watch this series and re-evaluate my stance. As times grow darker and lunacy has become the new standard of reality, especially with the explosion of New Age thought, I will need the teachings of wiser men to keep me grounded in the objectivity of our reality. Thank you.

I grew up non-denominational. I attended those type of mega churches that seemed more like rock concerts than they did places of worship. I have begun to realize that version of Christianity is lacking. It's inauthentic, and clearly not the Christianity practiced by the Apostles and Church Fathers. I'm currently torn between Traditional Catholicism and Orthodoxy, but for some reason, I feel more of a connection to Orthodoxy than I do Traditional Catholicism. Hopefully this series will help me find the way.

Troy D I’m glad you found this channel. God bless you in your journey, I made a pit stop in a nondenominational church as well. There’s a lot of people in the Catholicism vs Orthodox position right now. I think this series is particularly good in addressing that distinction.
I would also suggest Jay Dyer’s videos on catholicism as well. He does an excellent job critiquing it.

@@orthodoxreactionary6434 As far as I can tell, both Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism have succumb to the Jews and Freemasonry. They both support Liberalism/Globalism, and Zionism. The Orthodox Church seems to be the only Christian institution that seems unaffected by these incursions, and to me, that proves its legitimacy. But thanks for your encouragement. I definitely plan on learning a lot from your uploads.

Nice. Unmask your social world, was my cry that started in the 90's. He is correct about Western Art as expression of the change in spiritual consciousness. The world was no longer flat and the sun did not rotate around the earth. Im Roman Catholic and this was the bigging of how we got to Pope Francis. We lost the Apostolic Church and these counsels not from neglect but as if they are a collection of antiquated Rare Books or of a Dead Sea scroll vintage. Once the Holy Spirit procession was established there was no looking back. Now, this is a point and grunt old man writing with the IQ of 98 so .... but we RC are paying for not rethinking our direction especially with WWW and the knowledge that is easy to get to. We need you Orthodox to be a living witness for your living witness to these foundational truths we hold true in Christ pulls the Traditional (orthodox) Catholics from the modern world. We are RC are creating the point of no return for union with Orthodox.
pray for me, i have the sickness.

I was brought up in the church of England and then i went my own way until I came to Jesus when I was about 18.. I got involved with the evangelical church and a few years later the community churches which is a church under no particular denomination but is evangelical in practice..i have experienced times of being really close to Jesus and being built up in by him.. however I became unsure about it all not Jesus but the whole church leadership and the judgemental people who like to make you feel like you are a worthless sinner because of my past with drugs and being a bit of a rebel but I have never been in prison or have a criminal record or anything
. And now I am not in church and i feel far away from God and I'm not sure about going back to the same place because I end up feeling the same and I end up being hurt.. I have been reading about orthodox Christianity and I have to admit that I don't know anything about it but I want a more personal thing than some crazy happy clappy holy huddle club.. I want to be restored and stood back in the grace and favour of Jesus again..

How is roman catholicism a sect as opposed to the orthodox church, which itself has split into numerous national churches, and which in turn are not all currently in communion?
How do you redeem church disputes without the ability to declare canonical ecumenical councils that the prescence of a central patriarch has, or without splitting further?
I understand your rejection of the papacy as it stands. I understand your arguments agains the filioque and for the ordination of married priests.
I get that roman catholicism has fallen far, and I respect the spirit of the orthodox church, although I have yet to recieve satisfactory answers to these questions.

Solberg I’m not the best person to ask regarding those sorts of questions.

His discord is the best place to go for discussions. Link: t.co/auCvdKEK9U

Does the holy spirit speak to you? When you hear Orthodox hymns or prayers are you moved and do you feel love? Does your mind body and soul feel the everlasting love from Jesus Christ? The truth is that you will know where you are by how you are feeling. I remember it like yesterday after I lost my father to cancer and went down the wrong path. I was in a dark place and lost but I knew that God would never turn his back on me. I would always be welcome in Gods eyes. I sat down and started to Pray the Jesus Prayer and I cried. I felt the love and when I stood up I felt new. That is Orthodoxy.

29:30 "When a Catholic can get better along with a Lutheran than with an Orthodox..." is often a sad state of our current world but not an essential truth. Groups that hold tight to the Roman Catholic tradition (SSPX, FSSP etc), are in full communion with Rome and definitely get better along with Orthodox than with Protestants (Bishop Athanasius Schneider in Khazakstan could be a current good example).
The Catholics that seek common ground with Protestants are very often poorly catechized as a consequence of the bad state of the West or seek temporary alliances during political issues against a secular society/state. It is not an inherent or natural part of Catholicism.
The existence of non-Roman Eastern Catholic Churches, (Byzantine, Alexandrian, Syriac rites etc), that however remain in full communion with Rome further emphasizes the point of closer commonality between Catholics and Orthodox.
