    • @amybooth1993
      @amybooth1993 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I use an intimina menstrual disc and have never had leaks during the night. I don't know how much you know about them but when you insert a menstrual disc you slide it backwards and tuck the front end up above your pubic bone to create an airtight seal. The intimina one is also usable during sex and have never had any leaks with that either. The only issue with the disc is that it isn't suitable if you have a lower cervix as it sits higher than a menstrual cup. I have no experience with other discs that are less reusable than the silicone one that I currently use, but I imagine that they don't differ that much. The only drawback with the Intimina is that it comes with a lot of unnecessary hard plastic packaging.

    Okay so I understand how this works and maybe cause I just need a different size, but I’m 16, used these since I was 13-14? And like I’ve had the same one but even when I first had them I always have to use a pad under it because they leak for me. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong, but I’ve looked at tons of videos how to do it so I don’t think it’s that. Maybe it’s just the size, but idk. My size I’m using is a small, so maybe I need a bigger one. 🤷‍♀️ help?

      @viratales6517 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It usually leaks when it is full. Either change frequently or go for a bigger size.
      Also run a finger along the circumference of the cup (as far as your finger can reach) when inserted to make sure the cup has fully opened.
      I used to face this problem, but not anymore after following all these steps.

    • @yourerightimwrong4567

      @@swamp6825 I didn't have cramps that time around and completely forgot about it. I had six kids at the time (3 of my own, and my brother's 3) and I didn't realize until my next period that came with cramps. My husband didn't feel it either, but he usually doesn't with PIV, (maybe because it's squishy because he's considerably endowed, lol)-only hand stuff. Life was so stressful during that time and we were only getting it done (quickly) twice a week. I went to put my other one in (preemptively) and when I couldn't shove it in there...I realized. Went to OB-GYN and she said it was fine. No infection or anything. I am a strong proponent for these. I wish they would bring back insync intra-labial pads. Those things were AWESOME to use as a teen-AND 100% cotton. I could go into the pool without needing a tamp or putting anything inside my body.

    How the hell do these cups work? How do you clean up after using it?
    What if it gets stuck?
    How the hell does it fit?

    • @Be_An_Esther
      @Be_An_Esther 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It fits just fine, if you purchase the right size for you. The boxes are usually marked if you've had children or not. You just fold it in half, insert, then check to make sure it opened fully, give it a twist and you're done. Clean up is simple too, just dump into the toilet bowl then wash in the sink (ph balanced cleansers are preferred, but unscented soap like dove beauty bar is fine.) They DO and will leak, they arent 100% leak proof, unfortunately, but far better protection than traditional methods.

    • @Be_An_Esther
      @Be_An_Esther 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it will not get stuck or lost.

    Can anyone tell why are there holes in menstrual cups?

    • @stephie199210
      @stephie199210 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To help with suction which keeps them in place in the vaginal canal.

    • @carliemichalak5682
      @carliemichalak5682 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      They are responsible for creating suction so that blood doesn't leak past the cup. When the cup fills up with blood, the air-pressure inside the cup increases and is released through the holes. If the holes are clogged, the pressure cannot be released and the blood finds another way to flow: Around the cup.

    I still don't understand how they say you don't feel them. Under perfect circumstances, I can forget about a tampon (Although those are very uncomfortable at first for me too) but I keep taking quizzes, measuring my cervix height, trying different brands and sizes but every time I put a cup in, it feels like a shoved a whole ass rubber ducky in there. And almost every time, I get new INTENSE pressure and cramps immediately after I put it in that go away as soon as I take it out. That's a whole lot of cup to be sticking in there and expecting it to be unfelt, it's not a portal to another dimension. I was so psyched about cups but I haven't found one I can tolerate and don't understand why. And yes, it is all the way up in there as far as it can go, I can feel my cervix clearly. Now I'm starting to wonder if I got a lemon of a vagina. Are other girls like holding their valuables and shit up there too? 🤔 I feel left out.

    • @Miss-Hellcat666
      @Miss-Hellcat666 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe you're putting it too far up? It happened to me once and the cup suctioned directly onto my cervix and it felt like my soul left my vagina. Perhaps you could try a lower position? Best of luck, cups can be tricky and is not for everyone:)

      Period Nirvana has a website with a quiz and an online shop. She sells all the recommended brands. Cups and discs.
      I highly recommend a disc instead of a cup. It's so much easier. Especially because of auto-dump. It changed my life for the better.

    I've been using a menstrual cup for almost a year but i noticed that my flow is a lot slimier than when I use pads. My period also goes on for a bit longer and the last few days almost only consist of this "slimy" consistency that doesn't appear when I use pads, what is this and how can using a menstrual cup cause it?

      When I say something that makes go scratch your head it's because it's a question I've been asked more than once. Kind of like those signs that say "don't stick your hand inside the cage" it's there because someone definitely did that for some reason.
