    I am 68 years old and have played the trumpet since I was 10. Doc was my main inspiration and influence that has given me a lifetime of enjoyment. I doubt I will make to 95, let alone and play like the Doctor! Doc we love You man! Thank you for all that you have done for the world of music and trumpet playing!

      Would you know what trumpet he might be playing....i could be wrong but it looks like a smaller bell.... could it be similar to what was once called a peashooter that helped hit or sustain high notes?

    How does this man look, act, and sound 25 years younger than he really is. Unbelievable. The people I have seen still going strong in their 90's had/have one thing in common, they never actual retired from the thing they love doing most.

    God Bless Doc, thats when late night was late night!! The tonight show with Carson was the best entertainment ever on the television!! This gentleman added to the entertainment experience, there will never be a show with such talent in one show again. Starting in Jr High, would set my alarm for 11:30 to watch the tonight show then go back to sleep, it was my favorite show.

    Maybe Ralph D or any older trumpet players might know.....i payed cornet but just a beginner.
    The bell on his trumpet looks small in diameter to me - could be wrong.
    There used to be old vintage trumpets called peashooters that were thought to help play or sustain notes in high range. I would think he is playing a state of the art modern made trumpet , but does it look like a pretty small diameter bell?

    • @ralphdavella554
      @ralphdavella554  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes. It is a state of the art trumpet he helped design. I believe he has to conserve air when he plays now. The bell is a little smaller.

I'm in trumpet heaven whenever I listen to any of his performances. His incredible, magnificent unique sound, artistry and virtuosity covers the whole spectrum of the instrument, with unmatched power and feeling. Doc, without a doubt, will always be considered one of the greatest trumpeters ever.
