She's so sweet. I think it was really wise of her to keep her husband away from the spotlight because Hollywood can be crazy about couples. Maybe that's her secret why their marriage is long and strong.

It's not so much she kept him from the spotlight as much as he did himself. He actually has social awkwardness. According to Parton, he has only seen her perform once. However, Parton has said that even though they appear to spend little time together, it's simply that not many people see him publicly. And he's wanted it that way.
And even though she's as rich and famous as she is he still works for an asphalt company. I think having their own space is a great contributing factor to their marriage success.
