Elenda is one those commanders that on one turn, they're not doing much of anything. Then the next turn you have the entire Vampiric Inquisition at your door asking if you've donated blood recently.
Mitch, your decks may not always be the most powerful, but they are by far the most FLAVORFUL and I absolutely love that about your decks. Thanks for you years of hard work ❤
Elenda is so much fun with her versatility. You can win going wide, going tall, aristocraticing people to death, or just corpse knighting it up. You never know how it's going to turn out at the start of the game either. I've been playing her since her release, first commander deck I ever made and still by far my favorite!
My play mates keep asking me why i refuse to build another deck. After three years i still find new fun ways to win the game, the last one was Teysa Karlov+pitiless plunderer+Debt to the Deathless sac all in, nobody has response, so funnn
Elenda loves Blade of the Bloodchief and Teysa Karlov. Together whenever a single creature dies Elenda's power goes up by 6! That's a potential 14 vampire tokens from A SINGLE CREATURE DYING.
Better yet, add butcher of Malakir and ojer taq: the deepest foundation, one creature of yours dying=a potential 43/43 Elenda. Sac Elenda, you got 258 tokens :)
I have an Elenda deck. It's a Knight deck that focuses on getting out Haakon, Scourge of Stromgard. He lets you replay your commander from the graveyard so you don't need to worry about any death taxes.
I had built my own Elenda deck a week prior to this after pulling her as a list card form midnight hunt and it's such a cool deck. My version is definitely not budget by any means, but this video gave me some ideas that may make the deck better! 10/10
This is where my list is currently but I’m thinking of retweaking to be more of an aristocrat build. At first I didn’t want to because it would have been too similar to my Korvold deck. But now I have other decks available I don’t mind as much… I think some worthy inclusions are Legion Lieutenant, Twilight Prophet and Forerunner of the Legion. Maybe even Bloodthirsty Aerialist and Nighthawk scavenger. Problem with the legion of dusk cards is that they’re better for a vampire tribal aggro deck rather than Commander… I tried with Anthem/Lord affects and plenty of wrath’s but I’m leaning more into Aristocrat now. Hope this helps. 😊
Archfiend of depravity is a great add! I can see why you didn't have it since this is a budget list but it's only 3 bucks. Making your opponents sac down to two creatures on each of their turns is brutal and it'll make elenda huge
I'd say roughly 80% of this decklist is shared with my Triad of Fates deck. Obviously the focus is a bit different, but I had a lot of these cards lying around. Also, the link to the decklist in the description takes you to the Hofri deck from the other day. Just an observation.
Pure Reflection seems good in this deck, each creature spell causes the player to create an x/x reflection equal to its CMC and then destroy all other reflections. This basically reads get a death trigger for every creature spell.
Some nice cards I love to have with Elenda: Blade of the bloodchief and Teysa Karlov (equip BoBC and get an extra 2 +1/+1 counters every death automatically, double that with Teysa)
Archfiend of depravity is a great add! I can see why you didn't have it since this is a budget list but it's only 3 bucks. Making your opponents sac down to two creatures on each of their turns its brutal and it'll make elenda huge
btw, if you put blade of the bloodchief in here and slapped it on her. You would get 3 +1/+1 per death. So kill 5, she gets 15 counters, kill her and return her, kill the 16 new creatures, she is 48/48. Almost think it could have been a golden pig contender in this deck
Warning! Undying Evil will not work in this deck because it gives a creature undying which will only bring a creature back if it has no +1/+1 counters. We want tons of +1/+1 counters on Elenda. You can replace it with Not Dead After All from Wilds of Eldraine.
the golden pigs of my elenda deck are cathar crusade and divine visitation. Also one thing i did is to remose all exile effect and replace with destroy
I really like this list a lot! But I had a question I hope you or someone else could answer; what upgrades for this deck would you recommend? I bought the precon so I have cards like Blood Artist, Cordial Vampire, Indulgent Vampire, etc. Plus I wouldn't mind picking up cheaper cards like Welcoming Vampire, Cruel Celebrant, and Wedding Announcement.
Blade of the Bloodchief, Teysa Karlov (newest ravnica block) and ESPECIALLY Fallen Ideal. This last one has won me so many games and is tutorable with Open the Armory. Forerunner of the Legion can tutor up your Butcher of Malakir or any other fancy Vampires you want to include. Disciple of Bolas for massive card draw. The life loss is negligible in an Orzhov life gain deck… drawing 10-15 cards can win you games 😂 Charcoal and Marble diamond are cheap ramp options and everflowing chalice too (quite on theme with vampires). Corpse knight is another variant of Cruel Celebrant along with Pious evangel etc DONT underestimate the life drain effects!!
I'd definitely consider adding Phyrexian Plaguelord as one of the sac outlets as it costs nothing to do so, and might even help us get rid of creatures on opponents' board, including indestructibles. call it the "poor man's yawgmoth" (I actually run both on my aristocrats list, commanded by the new Liesa)
If you’re interested in The Ozolith, check out Resourceful Defense. 1W 2C Enchantment that functions much the same as The Ozolith, with a number of improvements. 1) Resourceful Defense can send the counters off of a permanent leaving the battlefield (not just counters from creatures) to any other permanent you control, including itself for storage like The Ozolith, so you can mitigate the impact of Spot Removal used during your attack step on one of the creatures you’ve built high, because it can move the counters from the creature leaving the battlefield directly to another (often attacking) creature. 2) With the downside that there’s no free transfer of counters from Resourceful Defense to a creature like The Ozolith does at the beginning of combat come a couple of upsides. 2a) For 1W 4C, you can move all the counters on one target permanent to another at instant speed, so you’ve got an expensive but entirely reusable combat trick. 2b) Resourceful Defense allowing counters to be moved to permanents rather than just creatures open up niche but powerful interactions like putting a Lifelink counter on an Aetherflux Reservoir and doing 50 damage to all 3 opponents for free, or putting a deathtouch counter on any artifact or enchantment that does 1 damage to all creatures. 3) One of the chief downsides of using a Flicker package in a counters deck is that any counters you move in 2nd main are essentially lost to you until your next combat phase with The Ozolith. Resourceful Defense either immediately sending the Flickered creatures counters to another permanent, or sending them back to the returning flickered creatures for 1W 4C strongly mitigates this drawback. I started experimenting with this card as I’ve been progressively tuning my Arwen, Mortal Queen deck, and found that not only is it powerful and flexible, it’s also a lot of fun.
Some amazing includes, although maybe not as budget, would be Blade of the Bloodchief, Fanatical Devotion, and Cathar's Crusade. Blade of the Bloodchief will triple the counters Elenda gets from creatures dying, Fanatical Devotion is one of the most underrated sacrifice outlets ever, and Cathar's Crusade just ends games.
Together Forever and Sigil of the New Dawn are great for Elenda pseudo recursion Pure Reflection is great for ramping death triggers on Elenda Call for Unity, Cordial Vampire, Necropolis Regent are great for power farming Angelic Exaltation, Junkyo Bell, Dragonscale General, Cleric Class are great for sac'ing Elenda every turn if you have the reliable recursion and amassing huge armies Martyrs Bond is a great Golden Pig as it mimics Butcher and arguably harder to get rid of. Also pairs amazingly with Pitiless Plunderer to wreck boards. Ayli is great for Sac Outlet, Burst Life Gain, and Hard Removal all in one on a cheap body with deathtouch
Just want to call out Wail of the Nim. Super budget friendly and can protect an untimely board wipe or even act as a pump effect..... or both... It's an underappreciated card for decks running black.
I've got an idea for a deck that is just nasty and it does require a dust Rose in part of the 99 Edgar charmed groom as the commander and a lot of white land destruction such as Armageddon and creature destruction to make it where my opponent does not recover at all and all I do is keep building creatures
Not bad for the price! Honestly with another like $50 you can elevate this deck to a 8 and with another 200 (dam you dreadhorde general...) you can blur the lines between casual and competitive. Nice video!
feel like archangel avacyn would be epic with this deck. play avacyn get commander killed next turn recast com with something that gives her 4 toughness. avacyn transforms killing all the tokens plus maybe more and boom elenda is massive and some on death triggers happen like that hound that does 1 dmg to every other player for each creature that died.
Idea for a card for Commander: Rite of Perseverance. Enchantment. Cost? Whenever your commander enters the battlefield, if you cast it from your command zone, if you paid 20 or more Commander Tax, you win the game.
@@TheMaddestHatter234 oh wow. I was going off of the European prices since I live in Germany. There seems to be a discrepancy. Welp that is unfortunate. But that makes me wonder how many cards I missed because of those differences. I mean there might be some really nice cards I haven't heard about in one of Mitch's videos, just because they don't fit the budget in America, but would be perfectly fine here.
dude this deck is crazy baaaad I play with my friends something similar and on turn 3 vs Yuriko or commanders like that Im dead and Im lucky If I have Elenda and 2 creatures with her on board... Looks good teoreticaly but never works
They ruined Elenda with the new commander "dying" rule, I miss the unique cards you could use to bring here back from the graveyard, I mean you can still use them but they're not needed. "Rescue from the Underworld" is a great example.
@@EGecko2 The rules used to state that when somebody destroyed your commander, it would go directly to the "command zone" which would make Elenda's death trigger not activate, since she never was placed into the graveyard. So wouldn’t it be beneficial to keep her out of the command zone the whole game? And if thats the case wouldn’t you still need cards to bring her out of the graveyard? Secret tech for this deck: Pure Reflection. Passive counters for Elenda.
Necrosynthesis and blackblade reforge are amazing additions to elenda
I was just contemplating making an Elenda deck. Thank you
Elenda loves Blade of the Bloodchief and Teysa Karlov.

I play her on arena historic brawl and tokens are nasty definitely using this deck list

Elenda was my first home brewed commander deck all the way back in 2017
I pulled her from Midnight Hunt set booster and have been wanting to make a deck. Thanks Mitch!
