Great job! 👏 I thought for sure that you would miss the step of lubing the filters' rubber housing. I lube it before installing the new filter. Also, I generally have the car running and pull the fuel pump fuse. This method purges a lot of fuel from the system. That being said, very good vid.
Thank you very much for posting this video. Saved me money. Appreciate it! Do you have a video showing how to change the fuel pump? Thats a nightmare from what I hear.
With this video, I was able to change the fuel filter in my 2003 CTS. Thank you! The only thing I would add is to put the filter back in from the opposite side shown (the "out" side). This seems counter-intuitive, but when I did that, it slid right in! I couldn't even get it started going in from the other direction (the "in" side). I noticed you struggled to get it to go in from the "in" side as well. I think if you had slid it in from the "out" side, it would have gone in much more easily. Maybe this rough diagram will help. The housing has an "out" end and an "in" end. Push the new filter into the housing from the "out" end. to gas tank ->
I wish that I could answer your question. But I will say, if the Vehicle has over 100,000 miles. I would change the Gas Filter. That's providing if it has one.
I definitely have this issue that will solve my stalling and bucking on acceleration. But will this fix my refill issue at the gas pump. When i get gas its like it will shut the nozzle off from pressure. So i spend about 20 minutes trying to fill up lol
There are several things. 1. If a vehicle stalls for no reason. 2. You start to noticed rough idling. 3. A clogged filter can make your gas pump a little noisy. 4.If you noticed problems with the Injectors.
Just purchased a used Cadillac CTS. I will be changing my fuel filter. I will follow your instructions step by step. Thanks for sharing your video.👍

Would you be able to take out old gas using say a pump through the filter lines?
That's a very good question. That is something that I would have to look at. I cannot properly answer that question right now.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 tried it yesterday it works
@@mando4660 Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Is this the same process for a 2008 cts? Car is having problems and thinking this may be the issue thanks for any help.

Hey, mine is stalling and bucking as well, can I message you somewhere I'm at a loss rn and need some help bad!
Is the car supposed to keep throwing gas after taking off the filter even for a while before adding the new one or does it stop after a little while?
Good question,
I don't know how long the gas will flow out. I would just have the new filter ready to be installed right away.
Thank you
I can’t find this on 2009 Cadillac CT’s 3.6
What are symptoms for a fuel filter to be changed?
There are several things.
1. If a vehicle stalls for no reason.
2. You start to noticed rough idling.
3. A clogged filter can make your gas pump a little noisy.
4.If you noticed problems with the Injectors.
I don’t see mine in that spot I got a 3.6 any help anyone locating it ?
😅 I’m stressing. I am not a mechanic. Wish me luck.
