I was under the hood of Ma's Caddy today trying to see how to change this filter. Its just as bad as I thought. 🙄 Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be paying someone to deal this stupidity.
No problem. It’s certainly doable but there’s a process. I’ve seen a lot worse. There was a time when these filter changes were straightforward but they are a rarity now.
So true. It’s frustrating. Never understood why basic maintenance can’t be as simple as possible. I’m afraid it’s not only the GM engineers but most car manufacturers.
Thanks for the comment. There are a number of ways to approach this filter change. In my opinion, following the steps in my video will give the least problems.
Hahaha. It’s more of habit, especially when filming. I don’t want to get my filming equipment dirty. But I do strongly believe we should all wear gloves when dealing under the hood. Oil, grease, antifreeze, brake fluid and other car fluids are all harmful.

Great job. Thanks for making this!
My pleasure. 😃 Thank you.
What were General Motors engineers thinking? "People will just take their Caddys to the dealership."
The engineers screwed up this one. They’ve jammed a lot into the engine bay, without little extra room. It’s certainly doable, but it’s a process.
The GM design engineers need under-hood tech time.

You made it more complicated than ever. There is way easier, faster way to do this job.

What's with the gloves? Any real car guy isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. You didn't touch anything with grease on it!
