Something else that has worked for me so far is to turn the key to the on position and wait about 30 seconds and then try to start the Car. I read this somewhere and has worked so far but no garrantees it will always work.

Well arent you a brillant 17 year old my goodness man i was just about to replace my starter but i noticed that when it did crank it sound strong and not failing at all i had no idea it was a starter fuse box that could be by passed wow you saved me a lot of money and headaceh i was looking up youtube video to replace the starter

You have a bad chip in your key...get a new key from the dealer.Been there done it all...
Just wondering why ya didnt replace the Relay?
Replaced the relay with a brand new one and still doesn’t work. This is a common issue on these caddy’s. Has to do with the engines computer. Had the computer replaced and it still didn’t fix it, so this was a last resort fix.

@@papergatorzfedducca7998 Not anymore, but if you go on amazon.com and look up “momentary push button, you should be able to find one with 2 wires already connected to it. They cost less than $20 for a pack of 5 of them.

Positive and negative 😂😂😂 UPDATE they’re $12.00 now on there. I need the switch where it will stay on. The switch I found you have to hold it and once you release it goes off. I forgot the name of the switches I need. It’s not momentarily.
@@jakestansberry7626 The DTS is similar. It's the wiring harness being too tight in places thus causing chafing and subsequently random shorts. I'm looking at the wiring diagram right now as we have an '06 DTS trailer queen that was a no start. The ES Short Buddy is on the way. Their relay test kit is great too.
Hey I like your approach I did the same on my 95 ford 150 fuel pump but I hook it up to a relay that was hot and boom been riding ever since I also put a Chevy radiator in my truck with a electric fan of a Toyota four runner and it runs cooler
Hey babe! Thanks I love this! So if I just put a short wire in the relay pins it will crank with the key? (Until the push button comes) I’ve already paid mechanic to reset and then to replace computer and I’m right back at no crank!!!

No you don't crank with the key ma'am. You're using the other circuit you made for the cranking part of the key action.
Now what relay was that I’m working on a 08 and the fuse box is a little different but also having this same exact issue some guy tried hard wiring the ecu I just hooked up the new harness in it and it still doesn’t start clicks once and the key gets stuck just like this
Will this bypass the ignition immobilizer module?
That's a hard no... This only bypasses the starter relay. It's generally how to test your starter in the event of a no crank/no fire event.
I didn't make this video however, I'm doing work on the same model of car and did this to test the starter. This one cranks but, no fire when bypassing the relay to crank it. Still researching the problem.

@@aesthetical97 I didn't want to believe it but, yes...
The bypass cranked the starter but, wouldn't fire the engine... No matter what I did, it just wouldn't work... I wound up figuring out that there was no communication between the ignition and the computer (ecm), which is why the ignition wouldn't crank the starter... After tracking down all of the fuses including the fuse boxes under the rear seat, my fears were confirmed... The computer went bad rendering the whole system unresponsive...
A used one was installed and programmed however, it went bad as well the following week... Apparently, that model car had an issue with that computer... My research revealed that 9/10 used replacements didn't work at all and 4/5 brand new replacements did... For as much as they cost brand new, only 80% of them was expected to work...
If you're having the same issue, try the fuse box under the back seat first... There's a fuse that goes to the ignition back there... There are 2 boxes, one on the driver's side, the other on the passenger side... The passenger side is the one you want to check... The boxes are concealed behind the carpet... This was only discovered when I researched the wiring diagrams associated with that car...

Probably something glitchy with the engine control module. I just bought an 05 cts and I've already been experiencing odd intermittent electrical issues and it basically stems from the ecm
ECM not grounding the starter relay coil control
Could be short/open from key start circuit.

Do you know about not having heat in the car cause its blowing cold? And its a cts 05 170k-180k what maintenance do i do?? I want to give it the dealeship but its not gon b worth shi 😩 and then also i keep hearing a thump sound everytime i switch from park to drive.. its making the sound in the trunk area
Your blend door on your air conditioning is not shutting and closing underneath the dash maybe if you go in next to the glove box with the car off no keys in it of course and see and then find the blend door they'll be like a wire that's might just be plastic or servo and that shuts and opens to make it hot or cold the bumping in the rear end of your car that could be anything you joints of shock broke anything

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6 l crank no start I tried what you did with the wires one of the first things I tried I knew about that trick and also I bypassed the ECM and still no crank no start IDK if I'm getting fuel to the fuel rail from what I'm understanding is that the intake needs to come off or the coul underneath the windshield wipers also when I'm cranking the car over it continues to crank for about 2 to 3 seconds without me holding the key in the crank position I let go of the key and it cranks for a couple seconds by itself and then it comes back eventually after a few seconds but still does not start and also after trying to start the vehicle several times it smells flooded so I assume I'm getting fuel but not 100% I hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key but then again after cranking no start even with a jump no start the battery is brand new I also did a throttle relearn I change the purge valve I also change the crank sensor I also put a new ignition switch in and it remains to crank no start and continue cranking without me holding the key into the cranking position the car stops cranking by itself and returns turn on key position I feel I have tried everything I also use my scanner and it through no codes if anyone has a clue where I can go next that would be great I bought a fuel pressure tester to test the fuel rail
is the solution going to be the same for a 2007 dts ? when i turn the key the car does not turn over, also nothing happens when i apply jumper cables .
Fix it
Once you stick a wire into the two slots and the engine starts, do you just leave the wire in the slots and drive? Or do you take the wire out once the car has started? I have the exact same model and year car and it suddenly won't start or do anything when I try to start the car.
I know it's a bit late, but once the wires are hooked up to the button, you can put the relay back into it overtop the wires, and leave it there. For some reason, my CTS works with the button, but i don't even need to use the button to start it, I just press it to turn the engine over, and the key works afterward, and the key also works 10min after using the button. Kinda weird but, it works.

Did you try replacing the relay?
so with the push button connected in the fuse box where and what does the power wire connect to and from ?
2 wires from the push button go to the 2 pins on the starter relay. doesn’t matter what wire goes to which pin, all the push button does is complete the circuit when you press in on it, causing both pins to connect and start the car (as long as the key is turned to the “on/acc” position)
So does the key release every time or do you still have to use the key release under the steering wheel
@@susanhenneberry8346there’s a lil button when u remove the bottom part of the plastic to see it it’s what u push in when it locks so what u do it get a lil thin tie strip n rap it around the pin then tighten it so that when it wants to lock it won’t be able too

Look under the steering column there is a hole that you can put a narrow screw driver into push up lightly and your keys will be released. 👍

The battery cables are properly bad that’s why it won’t start, you would have to voltage drop the positive and negative cables

I did the same thing on an old 67 Chevy Impala. Except I wired the button directly to the solenoid.
Ive got the holden VZ Commodore 3.6L australian version anyone having this issue also try and plug a obd2 scanner into the obd2 port for me my ecu is basically catcus i have to keep a scan tool plugged into the obd2 port and it starts like nothings wrong and thats how i drive around just dont unplug it while driving haha
just replace the relay.

It's more like between the key and relay, right?
I've swapped my relay, replace ecm and more still have the same issue
Previous owner didn’t program the ECM to the cars vin that’s why it “didn’t work” either that or the key still needs programmed after changing it

Hey buddy I have the same model and issue it's either a wiring issue or the ecm I had an aftermarket remote start installed before I bought it and didn't know the dealership removed it and put a new wiring harness and the problem went away for a couple months but now it is back at the shop with the same problem if no check engine light is on its probably a wiring issue
