A giant pile of clothes has got to be the biggest arrow to the heart of every ARMY. It brings up a visceral reaction. Yes, the acting is superb by both of them. The emotions that they portray on their faces are flawless. Her voice is unreal. For me the camcorder is the filter of love. It shows the inner beauty of the person as we see our loved one.
IU produced and did the lyrics. her mvs always have deeper meaning. There's a sign (1:08) when they first come in to the place when they find the camcorder that reads " " RISE FOR ALL" ...think thats a social commentary for the oppressors and for state of world , esp. these days. Most missed that sign..cause IU and V are so captivating. lol IU can't speak and V cant see out one eye... cube is like hate/society projections.Maybe we have to start standing up for love and for others discriminated or oppressed? I feel IU and V have seen so much of how South Korea media, police and citizens can cause so much hate, pressure and judgement that people start to commit suicides at times. IU has known least 3 close idol young friends that exp this. Also recently, in headlines. Famous Actor from oscar winning movie "parasite" had recently killed himself due to all the pressure of media police, even though he was found negative in his drug tests. IU was main lead actress to him in a different show called. "My Mister". What an amazing message and masterpiece, truly deserves a Award in every category.
Para mí el mensaje que yo recibí y por lo que lloré, fue sentir que es la Vida que los Idols deben enfrentar en Corea, como deben estar escondiéndose, escapando, no pueden manifestar muestras de amor u opinión personal sin ser perseguidos, deben luchar constantemente por mantenerse cuerdos, para que decir como son acosados cuando llegan a saber de alguna relación amorosa, el efecto de que hayan personas sin rostro en la “fiesta” mientras ellos son felices en su propia burbuja, me dio a entender que son los seguidores a través de las redes que si se alegran por sus ídolos, lamentablemente no tienen rostro porque están al otro lado de la pantalla, sin embargo los acosadores paparazzi etc nunca descansan y los persiguen, muchas veces destruyendo vidas y relaciones sin consideración alguna, lo que lamentablemente muchas veces el quitarse la vida, o resignarse a su destino terminan siendo una única salida a tanto odio y dolor… Me pareció por decirlo menos estremecedor, son los 5 minutos más emocionalmente impactantes que he sentido en muchísimo tiempo, IU sublime en todo su esplendor, sin embargo Tae está a otro nivel, porque él no tuvo ninguna interacción más que su actuación y fue capaz de transmitir tanto sin una sola palabra… La parte donde toma la mano de ella con tanta fuerza después de su último intento por salvarse más la lágrima final es el cierre perfecto… Gracias Director por su reacción, ya la estaba esperando con ansias … 💜🫰🏻
I have never seen so many reactions to a music video where the reactors are crying. This MV is really special as it’s made people emotional, a sign of great acting, great vocals/lyrics, great storyline and an amazing Director. We have been blessed. I can’t believe this is the pre release and not the main song from IU. What an impact. The acting is on point. I’m really happy that IU selected V for this and that Tae got a chance to do a little acting as the BTS schedule and ‘no solo’ policy prevented him from being able to act before. He told us that he is always getting scripts but recently had to turn them down because he was releasing his album. I really can’t wait until he gets a chance to do some acting and I hope he gets another gig with IU. Their chemistry is amazing, first in their duet ‘ending Scene’ and now this mv. I have waited patiently for Tae to have a chance and I’m so happy to see even this mini movie showcased the natural acting abilities he has.
IU pre-releases are the often the highlight though. The main one is usually a brighter song (not that its bad), that's meant for easy listening in cafes, concerts, etc...
IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😢😢😢

V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😢
The subtlety in the video is HUGE. The fork pokes the plate and IU takes a bite of air. Tae sees UI eat something that looks delicious to him and she says she actually could taste it so he should try some. That scene, together with their make-up (paleness and how scrawny they both are in the shots where they look scratched up and half-blind) implies they have been on the run for a LONG time without getting a chance to properly rest or eat. They are STARVING to death while they are running for their lives from the cubes. It is already very well-documented that starvation has driven countless people into absolute madness. So has Love. In this case, these two imagine that they can actually taste the food they are stealing from the restaurant tables. They are already crazy with hunger but they are affected the same exact way together (which NEVER happens). WOW. Side Note: Imagine getting BOOPED by Tae with a balloon... lol The entire crew who worked on this MV need raises (except for that one special guest...he needs to be fired with prejudice...). One of the most BEAUTIFUL things I have ever seen or heard.

One thing I noticed in this video is that in the beginning V is clothed in white/cream and IU is clothed in black, it reverses at the end when they are in the wedding clothes. I think it symbolizes a shift in their character arc which I think is a really cool detail. On top of all the other details that make this video absolutely beautiful.
I already knew that IU is a fantastic actor. She's proven this in almost every k-drama and movie she's been in (no more so than in My Mister, where she plays one of the most complex female roles on Netflix and just eats up the screen despite playing a character of few words). But this makes it even more impressive that V was able to match her scene for scene.
I feel like the recorder represents the lens we look thru at other people we love. We dont see their imperfections, we see them as they are to us, to those we love. We accept them as they are.

I am amazed at how you @Roscoe saw those little but very significant details on the MV, I am waiting for any reactors to point it out, but so far you're the only reactor who pointed it out though (Taehyung's facial expression from the start, blind right eye reset & his tears on his left eye, his anger, their wedding dress transition from the role playing to reality, the look of disbelief from both of them when they were running & when they saw those bunch of boxes also IU's natural fear expressions to name a few). IU and Taehyung's acting here is superb, like what you said phenomenal, they truly are a great actress & actor. They portrayed their respective roles naturally and just the way it should be, on point like you said. Both acted impressively, their eyes alone were so expressive enough that you feel all the emotions they were conveying in the MV. Talking about IU's voice, no one can deny that she has a very angelic and heartfelt voice that pierces your heart and I felt it from where she started singing, I cried a river honestly watching this short film (MV). She is an amazing story teller when she sings. Speaking of the story or the plot of the MV, the message is debatable, the cube may represent the very judgemental society that we live in today, those people in black suits can represent as the haters, mockers and fake people that really exist in real life. The camcorder may interpret as to no matter what your imperfections are in my lens you are the perfect person that ever exists in my life. The pile of clothes can be represented as the struggles, trials and challenges in life that they too encountered it. When they ascend, for me, it's not a defeat, but victory and freedom that they won together because the LOVE they have is so powerful and genuine that even death didn't have the chance to separate or set them apart. Hence, "Love Wins All". Overall POV from the song, IU's voice, she and Taehyung's acting, directing, musical scoring, cinematography, editing and the MV itself, just one word "Perfection".

V's character is blind in one eye... it's why she touches that eye when first looking through the camera, and covers the other eye at the end(so he won't see the end). Protecting him, while she faces it head one. And it took Me more than one viewing to notice this. They both appear to be Mute... to have "No Voice" in their world or in their life/futures.

Yes she is deaf he is blind in one eye. She covers it in the end because she didnt want him to see the impending end. She sings like and angel and his acting is just as if not better then before. Both sold their acting as if it was real life. I felt it. The tears from Tae and IU were gut wrenching it always is everytime ive watched it probably 50+ times by now. I cant get enough we need more of these to in a movie like this. This 5 min mini movie just isnt enough. We need more. They sell it so so good. I just wanter to put it out there that i think it was the director or producer i cant remember but he put out a message what the video ment and once you read it and watch it again to will see what everything is and represents much clearer at least i did. Im glad you watched it. Its myball time fav MV i dont ive ever seen one like it. Its immaculately done to where you feel your there and you every emotion. At the end when they are running you can feel it all up to when they halt and then run again. Going through the emotions of being scared 1st, 2nd tired, and 3 the resolution of this is the end but im not giving up. Heartbreaking end but i recommend reading about it. Although it does say at the very end last line up to anyone interpretations. To me its we love and stand by each other and weather whatever storm comes our way til the very end. We will always be by each others side. Even in end.
I think it should be submitted for the short film category of the Academy Awards. It is a complete story in 5 minutes that just slays you. Balled from beginning to end. The song should win a Grammy. Эту работу при первом просмотре смотрела даже никак клип, а именно как мини-фильм, настолько удивительная работа. Только потом узнала, что режиссером был Ом Тхэ-хва, которы снимал знаменитую Бетонную утопию, в которой снялся друг Тэ: СоДжун. Тэхён удивительный. Человеку в армию идти через несколько дней, а он так работал, бегал под дождем, при минусовой Т, настоящий профессионал (да, Айю тоже в этих же условиях, но она остается дома и в случае простуды может себе позволить отдых). Эмоции Тэ в видео просто невероятны, особенно когда он вцепился в Айю руками и прижал к себе. Спасибо Айю и Тэхен за талантливую работу, а режиссеру за такую высококлассную съемку (чтоб просто клип снять на уровне фильма): какой же талантливый! В несколько минут вложить столько всего, такой переход эмоций от радости до растерянности и ужаса, осознание неизбежного показано так сильно, что думаю, плакали многие. Лучшее, что я видела за последнее время!

I hope it gets the accolades it deserves and I think we have witnessed the birth of grownup actor Tae and (if that's an avenue he wants to pursue) I am there for it babe. The way Tae showed fear and vulnerability by making himself small. IU is too, yet she protected him and guided him as they traverse through the place. The way they stopped before going up the stairs, the exhaustion mentally and physically yet the adrenaline also spurring them on to continue or else.. Also, the short pause before he hit that cube, as if girding himself to protect IU. And finally, the resignation when they are facing the end. The acting of both are sublime. Not overdone and campy, the eyes tell all, the subtle body language, the tiny gestures and tiny facial reactions that cannot be just done easily. Even some famous actors you will catch them "acting" and being exaggerated in some scenes, but these two, oh man.. PS: I'm so glad you caught that resetting of Tae's right eye after the left one was covered, I thought I'm the only one, I was geeking over that

Congratulations, usually people focus on the most visible details but you caught the subtle details of expression, action and meanings that even people who watched it more often didn't notice and that IU and V put in because it was important to them, some of which no one has noticed to this day. Famous Actor from oscar winning movie "parasite" had recently killed himself due to all the pressure of media police, even though he was found negative in his drug tests. IU was main lead actress to him in a different show called. "My Mister". What an amazing message and masterpiece, truly deserves a Award in every category.
Para mí el mensaje que yo recibí y por lo que lloré, fue sentir que es la Vida que los Idols deben enfrentar en Corea, como deben estar escondiéndose, escapando, no pueden manifestar muestras de amor u opinión personal sin ser perseguidos, deben luchar constantemente por mantenerse cuerdos, para que decir como son acosados cuando llegan a saber de alguna relación amorosa, el efecto de que hayan personas sin rostro en la “fiesta” mientras ellos son felices en su propia burbuja, me dio a entender que son los seguidores a través de las redes que si se alegran por sus ídolos, lamentablemente no tienen rostro porque están al otro lado de la pantalla, sin embargo los acosadores paparazzi etc nunca descansan y los persiguen, muchas veces destruyendo vidas y relaciones sin consideración alguna, lo que lamentablemente muchas veces el quitarse la vida, o resignarse a su destino terminan siendo una única salida a tanto odio y dolor… Me pareció por decirlo menos estremecedor, son los 5 minutos más emocionalmente impactantes que he sentido en muchísimo tiempo, IU sublime en todo su esplendor, sin embargo Tae está a otro nivel, porque él no tuvo ninguna interacción más que su actuación y fue capaz de transmitir tanto sin una sola palabra… La parte donde toma la mano de ella con tanta fuerza después de su último intento por salvarse más la lágrima final es el cierre perfecto… Gracias Director por su reacción, ya la estaba esperando con ansias … 💜🫰🏻

I have never seen so many reactions to a music video where the reactors are crying. This MV is really special as it’s made people emotional, a sign of great acting, great vocals/lyrics, great storyline and an amazing Director. We have been blessed. I can’t believe this is the pre release and not the main song from IU. What an impact. The acting is on point. I’m really happy that IU selected V for this and that Tae got a chance to do a little acting as the BTS schedule and ‘no solo’ policy prevented him from being able to act before. He told us that he is always getting scripts but recently had to turn them down because he was releasing his album. I really can’t wait until he gets a chance to do some acting and I hope he gets another gig with IU. Their chemistry is amazing, first in their duet ‘ending Scene’ and now this mv. I have waited patiently for Tae to have a chance and I’m so happy to see even this mini movie showcased the natural acting abilities he has.
IU pre-releases are the often the highlight though. The main one is usually a brighter song (not that its bad), that's meant for easy listening in cafes, concerts, etc...

V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😢
The subtlety in the video is HUGE.
The fork pokes the plate and IU takes a bite of air. Tae sees UI eat something that looks delicious to him and she says she actually could taste it so he should try some.
That scene, together with their make-up (paleness and how scrawny they both are in the shots where they look scratched up and half-blind) implies they have been on the run for a LONG time without getting a chance to properly rest or eat. They are STARVING to death while they are running for their lives from the cubes.
It is already very well-documented that starvation has driven countless people into absolute madness. So has Love.
In this case, these two imagine that they can actually taste the food they are stealing from the restaurant tables. They are already crazy with hunger but they are affected the same exact way together (which NEVER happens). WOW.
Side Note: Imagine getting BOOPED by Tae with a balloon... lol
The entire crew who worked on this MV need raises (except for that one special guest...he needs to be fired with prejudice...). One of the most BEAUTIFUL things I have ever seen or heard.

One thing I noticed in this video is that in the beginning V is clothed in white/cream and IU is clothed in black, it reverses at the end when they are in the wedding clothes. I think it symbolizes a shift in their character arc which I think is a really cool detail. On top of all the other details that make this video absolutely beautiful.

I already knew that IU is a fantastic actor. She's proven this in almost every k-drama and movie she's been in (no more so than in My Mister, where she plays one of the most complex female roles on Netflix and just eats up the screen despite playing a character of few words). But this makes it even more impressive that V was able to match her scene for scene.
V has also acted a kdrama called Hwarang but as a supporting role!
I feel like the recorder represents the lens we look thru at other people we love. We dont see their imperfections, we see them as they are to us, to those we love. We accept them as they are.

I am amazed at how you @Roscoe saw those little but very significant details on the MV, I am waiting for any reactors to point it out, but so far you're the only reactor who pointed it out though (Taehyung's facial expression from the start, blind right eye reset & his tears on his left eye, his anger, their wedding dress transition from the role playing to reality, the look of disbelief from both of them when they were running & when they saw those bunch of boxes also IU's natural fear expressions to name a few). IU and Taehyung's acting here is superb, like what you said phenomenal, they truly are a great actress & actor. They portrayed their respective roles naturally and just the way it should be, on point like you said. Both acted impressively, their eyes alone were so expressive enough that you feel all the emotions they were conveying in the MV. Talking about IU's voice, no one can deny that she has a very angelic and heartfelt voice that pierces your heart and I felt it from where she started singing, I cried a river honestly watching this short film (MV). She is an amazing story teller when she sings. Speaking of the story or the plot of the MV, the message is debatable, the cube may represent the very judgemental society that we live in today, those people in black suits can represent as the haters, mockers and fake people that really exist in real life. The camcorder may interpret as to no matter what your imperfections are in my lens you are the perfect person that ever exists in my life. The pile of clothes can be represented as the struggles, trials and challenges in life that they too encountered it. When they ascend, for me, it's not a defeat, but victory and freedom that they won together because the LOVE they have is so powerful and genuine that even death didn't have the chance to separate or set them apart. Hence, "Love Wins All". Overall POV from the song, IU's voice, she and Taehyung's acting, directing, musical scoring, cinematography, editing and the MV itself, just one word "Perfection".

V's character is blind in one eye... it's why she touches that eye when first looking through the camera, and covers the other eye at the end(so he won't see the end). Protecting him, while she faces it head one. And it took Me more than one viewing to notice this.

Yes she is deaf he is blind in one eye. She covers it in the end because she didnt want him to see the impending end. She sings like and angel and his acting is just as if not better then before. Both sold their acting as if it was real life. I felt it. The tears from Tae and IU were gut wrenching it always is everytime ive watched it probably 50+ times by now. I cant get enough we need more of these to in a movie like this. This 5 min mini movie just isnt enough. We need more. They sell it so so good. I just wanter to put it out there that i think it was the director or producer i cant remember but he put out a message what the video ment and once you read it and watch it again to will see what everything is and represents much clearer at least i did. Im glad you watched it. Its myball time fav MV i dont ive ever seen one like it. Its immaculately done to where you feel your there and you every emotion. At the end when they are running you can feel it all up to when they halt and then run again. Going through the emotions of being scared 1st, 2nd tired, and 3 the resolution of this is the end but im not giving up. Heartbreaking end but i recommend reading about it. Although it does say at the very end last line up to anyone interpretations. To me its we love and stand by each other and weather whatever storm comes our way til the very end. I think it should be submitted for the short film category of the Academy Awards. It is a complete story in 5 minutes that just slays you. Balled from beginning to end. The song should win a Grammy. I loved your Reaction to the MV, this was the best in the 30+ times I watched it. I felt both were deaf & mute, V also blind in one eye. I 💯 % agree their acting was magical, they gave us a full length movie, so many other reactors were bawling their eyes out. I too felt it the the first note, her voice grips at your heart. Эту работу при первом просмотре смотрела даже никак клип, а именно как мини-фильм, настолько удивительная работа. Только потом узнала, что режиссером был Ом Тхэ-хва, которы снимал знаменитую Бетонную утопию, в которой снялся друг Тэ: СоДжун. Тэхён удивительный. Человеку в армию идти через несколько дней, а он так работал, бегал под дождем, при минусовой Т, настоящий профессионал (да, Айю тоже в этих же условиях, но она остается дома и в случае простуды может себе позволить отдых). Эмоции Тэ в видео просто невероятны, особенно когда он вцепился в Айю руками и прижал к себе. Спасибо Айю и Тэхен за талантливую работу, а режиссеру за такую высококлассную съемку (чтоб просто клип снять на уровне фильма): какой же талантливый! В несколько минут вложить столько всего, такой переход эмоций от радости до растерянности и ужаса, осознание неизбежного показано так сильно, что думаю, плакали многие. Лучшее, что я видела за последнее время!

The way Tae showed fear and vulnerability by making himself small. IU is too, yet she protected him and guided him as they traverse through the place. The way they stopped before going up the stairs, the exhaustion mentally and physically yet the adrenaline also spurring them on to continue or else.. Also, the short pause before he hit that cube, as if girding himself to protect IU. And finally, the resignation when they are facing the end. The acting of both are sublime. Not overdone and campy, the eyes tell all, the subtle body language, the tiny gestures and tiny facial reactions that cannot be just done easily. Even some famous actors you will catch them "acting" and being exaggerated in some scenes, but these two, oh man..

IU has such a delicate and beautiful voice it really conveys the hope and longing to see this relationship through till the end. Her songwriting combined with the acting of the mv just knocks it all out of the park.

such a great analysis. i had the same thought process as you did. 'love wins all' as they never left each other's side and kept fighting until the end. that is what you need to do when you love someone and protect them until the end....nice!
