The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in the world put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel inssecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dystopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are right now...

I actually found a few reactors who did not cry. One was struggling but held it in, barely, and I bet they cried after turning off their recording equipment. That is a STRONG person with great control of themselves.

The behind-the-scenes studio recording session video was just as epic. IU was so sick while making the song that they joked about coughing up blood and dying during the recording session. She had caught the flu while filming the mv in sub-freezing temperatures.

Welcome to the amazing world of IU. One of the very best vocalist in the world today. She can make people feel more, happiest, excitment, sadness etc with her voice then any singer I have ever known and I have been around for a while. And she is able to do this when the person doesn't know what the song is about or know what the lyrics are. She is a generational talent. You may be inclined to say ah this guy is just a big fan and I need to take him with a grain of salt. That is exactly what others have said as well, until they took a little bit of time and actually looked into music. She debuted at 15 in 2008. She is in her 16th year as a singer.
IU not only wrote the lyrics she also produced the MV. So the concept and story line are all her. It is an original work. It doesn't come from a movie or kdrama though many want it to become one.
IU is also an outstanding actress. Having 7 kdramas, 3 movies and few other acting credits to her name with an 8th drama being released this year on Netflix. She is the female lead in 3 of kdrama's most popular shows Scarlett Heart, My Mister and Hotel Del Luna. The last 2 of which are currently available on Netflix.

I know IU before but just became a big fan of hers last year. I watched one of her shows "My Mister" and I was in awe of how good she is as an actress so I decided to really delve into her music and now all I do is listen to her songs and watch any videos she's in. Her music just makes me happy and takes away my anxieties and stress. She's an icon.
She is the actress of her generation, I loved My Mister they way the various relationships were told. IU was , simply brilliant in a fantastic script.

firstly, welcome to the IU rabbit hole. If you're willing to go down it, I promise you're in for something special. IU's probably the most successful soloist in South Korea and I think what you described 5:50 to 6:20 really says it best. She has this magic to capture emotions in her singing, which not many can do. Recently, she released a behind the scenes video of her recording this song on her official YT channel and she did it with a serious cold, imagine that. Would highly recommend more from her and happy to recommend more songs if you are interested.

It certainly doesn't seem to be a time when love is prevalent.
In a gray world that is growing colder with evident hostility and indifference, it feels absurd sometimes to hope that one can win with the invisible weapon of love.
However, from my personal experience, even in its moments of triumph, hatred is always alone.

By the way, for this album which contains five tracks, there are two songs which I dedicate to my loved ones, especially to my fans, and one of them is ‘Love wins all’.
From the age of 18, when I suddenly received great love that changed my life overnight, until now - there hasn’t been a single day that I didn’t imagine it ending. It feels vaguely lonely, scary and I thought it was a natural thing to happen. However, upon thinking about that everyday for over a decade, my attitude towards it started to change little by little.
Right now, it doesn’t scare me that much anymore. I don’t think I will feel greater regret nor loneliness when that moment comes. Above all, I don’t think it is coming anytime soon.
The reason why I, a pessimistic child full of worries, was able to change this much in the meantime is because I have people who tirelessly reassured me every day for the past decade. Thanks to them, looking back, I have never been alone even just for a moment in my life as IU.

There's no backstory! This is just a music video for IU's new song, with the man in the video being the member Taehyung/V from the band 'BTS' (you might've heard of them already even if you don't know much about Kpop, since they're known internationally). Such a great 5 minute short film that amazingly transcends language barriers and seems to even break the hearts of people who have zero context :') This was such a great and genuine reaction!
Actually, the director's movie "Concrete Utopia" was one of the inspirations for this music video, that's why they asked him to direct this one. IU wanted to film it on the set used by the movie, but it was no longer available

She encountered financial difficulties in her family when she was a child, so she determined to become an "adult" who could support her own life earlier. This is such a great song and video. IU has a beautiful voice and she is an amazing actress. Im more familiar with her acting than her music though. I highly recommend her k drama, Hotel Del Luna. In an interview she mention it was kind of like her dedication to three of her dear friends she lost to suicide. All were Idols like she and she still gets a lot of hate. She's friends with some of the members of BTS and she asked V from BTS to be the male lead. They both absolutely killed it. Don't worry, between the visuals, IU's voice, the lyrics, we were all like 😭by the end. Seriously, the first time I cried for like half an hour even when watching the behind the scenes video. This reaction felt so random but I had to watch it. IU's has a voice that conveys emotion very well, even without understanding the lyrics you can get emotional.
