Actually V/ hybe just released his version of the behind the scenes on Bangtan tv a few hours ago. They just work so well together. He wanted to shoot a drama before enlisting but it did not work out and this music video is the closest he could do to give to ARMY. Fyi, on their first day of shooting, Taehyung came from another shooting for a commercial. There’s a vid where the producer of Jinny’s Kitchen and his actor friend Park Seojoon prepared a birthday meal for him since he won’t have one when he goes to the military, where he said he’s leaving that same day for Yangyang for a shooting. That mv was shot in Yangyang. I can only imagine how tired he was that day

The first drama I saw IU in was Hotel Del Luna. I have loved her since. Tae has matured so much as an actor since his role in Hwarang where he met his Wooga Squad. I’m so looking forward to him returning from military service. I’m hoping this is a prelude to him acting in a drama! 💜
The first film I saw I U in was My Mister and to this day is still my favorite! Of course my Tae is as always the most talented and humble person! Love them both!
V is also very involved, giving his ideas and direction, when it comes to his own projects like the MVs and promotion activities and rehearsals for his solo tracks in layover. Even in BTS songs and performance rehearsals, he makes sure everything is perfect by monitoring and watching the recordings. He is very thorough.

I had to of watched this mv more then 100x already and I cry every damn time without fail. This mv the lyrics, IU and V's chemistry and love story is so emotionally overwhelming. My heart felt every single emotion they went through, my heart even flutter when V approached IU on stage and got closer and they were face to face I felt what that would feel like with the love of you life. In the last scene, V, who was always protected, showed courage in response to injustice. However, when that is thwarted, IU hugs V again and shows herself protecting him.

V is also very thorough and makes sure their performance is always perfect by closely monitoring rehearsals, results, movements of each member. He is not taking lead here because this is IU’s production. I think he is being rather more respectful. But trust that he will definitely engage more actively if he sees any area for improvement.
In the MV I didn’t notice the clothes on the road when they were running outside or in the balconies. For me the MV reminds me of War of the worlds movie. They killed it!

I think it wasn't exactly a happy endind, but the way the camcoder would represent their happiness for being together even at their end. But I think the director preferred to keep the emotion and anguish in the last scene. I mean, seeing them calmy looking at the stars would have broken the climax feeling.
In most Korean dramas, when one character is trying to comfort another, that character “taps” the one they are trying to comfort, mostly when they are hugging them. I’m assuming that’s either something that is in Korean culture or just a go to in cinema that is commonly used to show caring/empathy without words.

The MV sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. When the teaser was released my thoughts first went to the Sewol Ferry disaster, but once I'd watched the MV, I realized this wouldn't make sense since it's IU's project. I love their chemistry both in the MV and while they have little breaks. I already knew Taehyung could act after watching Hwarang. I'm currently watching My Mister. And I plan to watch Concrete Utopia.

17:29-17:33 Roscoe, you noticed this lovely bit where the tree limbs frame them! (Or maybe you were saying, "Nice," about IU's voice?! Idk! ... I'll share my thoughts anyway...) The first time I saw this video I paused it here. It reminded me of Japanese nature art, so subtle yet perfectly designed. Then I replayed and saw V and IU! Maybe the fog obscured them too much, and so this shot wasn't included in the mv. I can understand the decision, but I think if I were the mv producer/editor I would have also cried to see it discarded on the cutting room floor! This mv and song have me a little emotional ... At least everyone gets to see it in this video. I also liked the way the editor followed it with the match cut. IU and V look as though they run from the bright outdoors and magically end up in the dark indoors, continuing to run in the same direction, but now wearing wedding clothes. In the shooting sketch on BANGTANTV, that editor also did a match cut like this, as though running from outdoors to indoors, ragged clothes to wedding clothes, showing us the camera crew scrambling to keep up with them as they run down a dark hall. For this part in both videos, IU's beautiful singing is all we hear. ... Did the same editor work on both videos?! Hmm...! ❤
At the very end.. they are flying away (but its when viewed thru the cam, because the cam made things and their story beautiful).. otherwise the box evaporated them.

IU did the drama 'My Mister' in mid-winter and froze in her costume too. But she said the worst was filming 'Hotel Del Luna' in mid-summer because there's no way to mitigate the heat.
Why does it feel like V did this whole project without a contract of some sort and only went for it as a favour to IU? IU being worried about overworking V and then wondering if V left for Seoul the very next day made me thing this way. If this really is the case, V is such a solid friend to have.
At the moment they both turn their head up, I think she felt V's tension and/or her periferal sight saw him, turn up and then responded equally, other theory would be the box making a vibration in the nearby space therefor calling their attention.

Just had another sad aha moment when you said the wedding banquet was meticulously put together. I realized that there must have been a real wedding going on. full of friends and family, when the cubes came to destroy their lives. All those people celebrating a wedding are now all in the pile of clothes.....
Ideas from Ideagirl. And some of my thoughts. V had 1 week before he was enlisting. My opinion . He was in Top Shape as all the guys were before enlisting. No way would they begin intense physical military training without showing up already fit. All of BTS worked out before. And I think that's why we never see V winded or bent over crying in pain. I know IU had a cold, but she was in physical pain from running for 7 hours. You do realize they had breaks. It wasn't nonstop. But throughout the whole film day. IU did produce the MV. And as Roscoe was impressed so was I. She said she made every decision. Only one other reactor commented on something I noticed. V wore white. IU wore black. Then the wedding clothes. IU wore white. V wore mostly black. I liked that choice she made. According to IU's dedication of the song, V represented her fans. She wants to live happily with them until they can fade away happily together. Also, read the director's ending interpretation. It had a happy ending. They both were able to fly away together in love without any more oppression or discrimination of their disabilities. I didn't take it that she was deaf either as she appeared to react to "sounds" in other parts of the video too. I took the signing to mean they were trying to be quiet to avoid detection by the cube.

I watched it again and the camera battery dies almost at the same time they do. The other, dreamlike world it reflected ends, only reality remains. But the idea it was recording still makes me think of Sonnet 18
In the BANGTANTV video, we get a close look at the food and fancy silverware and china on the tables. They are covered in cobwebs - because this has all been here, untouched, for a long time. And there is dust covering all of it. In fact, too much dust. Which seems an unlikely mistake for set dressers to make. ... What if it isn't the usual dust that accumulates over time? What if it is the dust from the first victims of the cubes? They had no time to run. They didn't know what hit them. They were turned to dust right here, in the middle of their party. And now, they are the shrouded ones. They are ghosts of the guests and the wait staff, trying to continue their party. Then V and IU come on the scene, full of life, and the shrouded ones jeer and heckle. They want the 2 to quit having so much fun. "They should be somber as we are, accepting our fate and the sad state we are in." The shrouded ones gesture frantically. Are they all mute, too? They are easily pushed aside, or fall from a mere bop on the head with a balloon. The 2 lovers don't have to fight here. They win by following their joy.

I did just watch the BTS V version of Behind the Scenes. And it did answer some questions I thought of. Being a director and actor it is known etiquette NOT to add your comments or help the stage or video director your thoughts unless asked. We all know that V himself is an accomplished producer and director. I wondered if he would be tempted to add his "2 cents" during this project. I was right. He couldn't help himself. His Behind the Scenes showed a few versions of his interest and improv. I'll let you discover those yourself. Except for one. V put that golden flower behind his ear. He adorned himself during a break and the director kept that in. He even added V putting a red flower on IU. And Roscoe your commenters are right about the color red. In fact, in traditional Korean weddings the bride wears a red wedding dress.
I recommend the music video director's work 'Concrete Utopia'. Concrete utopia refers to an apartment. Apartments in Korea are a little different from other countries. This is the living space that everyone wants. It's very expensive. An 84 square meter apartment in an expensive area of Seoul costs 4 billion won. When converting to dollars, subtract three trailing zeros. If you know what this means, the title will make sense.

IU is one of the most extraordinary people walking this earth. Never mind the beauty, never mind the creativity and skill as a performer.... she grew up destitute.... her family had nothing.... her grades weren't great.... but she could sing. And now she's the biggest woman in k-pop and really growing as an actor.
Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe. I love the behind the scenes shoots, they show different aspects of the celebrities' characters. Now it's clearer why IU gets on so well with the BTS members - you can see the same work ethic, the same drive and the same comfortable relationship with their staff. My sweet boy Taehyung sending in the food and coffee truck for everyone - reminds me of him finishing cooking all the chicken at the end of filming of "Jinny's Kitchen" and sending the food to the people who came to watch the end of filming. Learned so much from your directorly observations.
The first drama I saw IU in was Hotel Del Luna. I have loved her since.
Tae has matured so much as an actor since his role in Hwarang where he met his Wooga Squad. I’m so looking forward to him returning from military service. I’m hoping this is a prelude to him acting in a drama! 💜
The first film I saw I U in was My Mister and to this day is still my favorite! Of course my Tae is as always the most talented and humble person! Love them both!

V is also very involved, giving his ideas and direction, when it comes to his own projects like the MVs and promotion activities and rehearsals for his solo tracks in layover. Even in BTS songs and performance rehearsals, he makes sure everything is perfect by monitoring and watching the recordings. He is very thorough.

I had to of watched this mv more then 100x already and I cry every damn time without fail. This mv the lyrics, IU and V's chemistry and love story is so emotionally overwhelming. My heart felt every single emotion they went through, my heart even flutter when V approached IU on stage and got closer and they were face to face I felt what that would feel like with the love of you life.

The scene where IU pats V at the end is something parents do in Korea when they calm their children down or put them to sleep.
The concept of this music video was IU acting as V's protector. In the last scene, V, who was always protected, showed courage in response to injustice.
However, when that is thwarted, IU hugs V again and shows herself protecting him.
Per IU's dedication of this song to her fans...V represents her fans. And I agree with you. They were loving consoling taps. All mothers know that. Even fathers. And older siblings taking care of their younger siblings. Grandmother. Nanny's. Pet owners. All caring people give love pats.
The possible reason why they chose a box to represent something they feared is to allude to being boxed in by the expectations of the world, haters/racists, those who discriminate, KPop industry/fans, society.

V is also very thorough and makes sure their performance is always perfect by closely monitoring rehearsals, results, movements of each member. He is not taking lead here because this is IU’s production. I think he is being rather more respectful. But trust that he will definitely engage more actively if he sees any area for improvement.
In the MV I didn’t notice the clothes on the road when they were running outside or in the balconies. For me the MV reminds me of War of the worlds movie. They killed it!
IU and Taehyung were supposed to have a happy ending but the ending sequence was edited out from the actual MV.!!!

I think it wasn't exactly a happy endind, but the way the camcoder would represent their happiness for being together even at their end. But I think the director preferred to keep the emotion and anguish in the last scene. I mean, seeing them calmy looking at the stars would have broken the climax feeling.

In most Korean dramas, when one character is trying to comfort another, that character “taps” the one they are trying to comfort, mostly when they are hugging them. I’m assuming that’s either something that is in Korean culture or just a go to in cinema that is commonly used to show caring/empathy without words.

The MV sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. When the teaser was released my thoughts first went to the Sewol Ferry disaster, but once I'd watched the MV, I realized this wouldn't make sense since it's IU's project. I love their chemistry both in the MV and while they have little breaks.
I already knew Taehyung could act after watching Hwarang. I'm currently watching My Mister. And I plan to watch Concrete Utopia.
Kookie is the biggest IU Fan. His very first CD was a IU one. And V being his best friend/soulmate makes this MV very special. PS: those Grapes are really expensive in Korea. Shine Muscat grapes.

17:29-17:33 Roscoe, you noticed this lovely bit where the tree limbs frame them! (Or maybe you were saying, "Nice," about IU's voice?! Idk! ... I'll share my thoughts anyway...) The first time I saw this video I paused it here. It reminded me of Japanese nature art, so subtle yet perfectly designed. Then I replayed and saw V and IU! Maybe the fog obscured them too much, and so this shot wasn't included in the mv. I can understand the decision, but I think if I were the mv producer/editor I would have also cried to see it discarded on the cutting room floor!
This mv and song have me a little emotional ... At least everyone gets to see it in this video.
I also liked the way the editor followed it with the match cut. IU and V look as though they run from the bright outdoors and magically end up in the dark indoors, continuing to run in the same direction, but now wearing wedding clothes. In the shooting sketch on BANGTANTV, that editor also did a match cut like this, as though running from outdoors to indoors, ragged clothes to wedding clothes, showing us the camera crew scrambling to keep up with them as they run down a dark hall. For this part in both videos, IU's beautiful singing is all we hear. ... Did the same editor work on both videos?! Hmm...!

Her famous male co-star, Lee Joon-gi, said this of her when they worked together in one of her first ever dramas when she was younger.., “IU did such a good job. What I thought was amazing was that she acts while looking at all of it, as if she’s directing it. She prefers it if she can understand the situation before and after a scene. She watches the scenes before and after her’s and analyzes them. She’s like a director. She has a wide perspective like a director.” You hit the mark with your comment about her watching the monitor and reviewing her phone.

IU did the drama 'My Mister' in mid-winter and froze in her costume too. But she said the worst was filming 'Hotel Del Luna' in mid-summer because there's no way to mitigate the heat.
Why does it feel like V did this whole project without a contract of some sort and only went for it as a favour to IU? IU being worried about overworking V and then wondering if V left for Seoul the very next day made me thing this way. If this really is the case, V is such a solid friend to have.

At the moment they both turn their head up, I think she felt V's tension and/or her periferal sight saw him, turn up and then responded equally, other theory would be the box making a vibration in the nearby space therefor calling their attention.
IU is NOT deaf per the director. She is Mute.

Just had another sad aha moment when you said the wedding banquet was meticulously put together. I realized that there must have been a real wedding going on. full of friends and family, when the cubes came to destroy their lives. All those people celebrating a wedding are now all in the pile of clothes.....

Ideas from Ideagirl. And some of my thoughts. V had 1 week before he was enlisting. My opinion . He was in Top Shape as all the guys were before enlisting. No way would they begin intense physical military training without showing up already fit. All of BTS worked out before. And I think that's why we never see V winded or bent over crying in pain. I know IU had a cold, but she was in physical pain from running for 7 hours. You do realize they had breaks. It wasn't nonstop. But throughout the whole film day. IU did produce the MV. And as Roscoe was impressed so was I. She said she made every decision. Only one other reactor commented on something I noticed. V wore white. IU wore black. Then the wedding clothes. IU wore white. V wore mostly black. I liked that choice she made. According to IU's dedication of the song, V represented her fans. She wants to live happily with them until they can fade away happily together. Also, read the director's ending interpretation. It had a happy ending. They both were able to fly away together in love without any more oppression or discrimination of their disabilities. I didn't take it that she was deaf either as she appeared to react to "sounds" in other parts of the video too. I took the signing to mean they were trying to be quiet to avoid detection by the cube.

In the BANGTANTV video, we get a close look at the food and fancy silverware and china on the tables. They are covered in cobwebs - because this has all been here, untouched, for a long time. And there is dust covering all of it. In fact, too much dust. Which seems an unlikely mistake for set dressers to make. ... What if it isn't the usual dust that accumulates over time? What if it is the dust from the first victims of the cubes? They had no time to run. They didn't know what hit them. They were turned to dust right here, in the middle of their party. And now, they are the shrouded ones. They are ghosts of the guests and the wait staff, trying to continue their party. Then V and IU come on the scene, full of life, and the shrouded ones jeer and heckle. They want the 2 to quit having so much fun. "They should be somber as we are, accepting our fate and the sad state we are in." The shrouded ones gesture frantically. Are they all mute, too? They are easily pushed aside, or fall from a mere bop on the head with a balloon. The 2 lovers don't have to fight here. They win by following their joy.

I did just watch the BTS V version of Behind the Scenes. And it did answer some questions I thought of. Being a director and actor it is known etiquette
NOT to add your comments or help the stage or video director your thoughts unless asked. We all know that V himself is an accomplished producer and director. I wondered if he would be tempted to add his "2 cents" during this project. I was right. He couldn't help himself. His Behind the Scenes showed a few versions of his interest and improv. I'll let you discover those yourself. Except for one. V put that golden flower behind his ear. He adorned himself during a break and the director kept that in. He even added V putting a red flower on IU. And Roscoe your commenters are right about the color red. In fact, in traditional Korean weddings the bride wears a red wedding dress.
