I love this episode. It really shows the idiosyncrasies of Michael while also showing us his genuine leadership and management skills that allow him to be able to run the office from day-to-day. It's an excellent character study of a surprisingly complex character.
The graduation hat has to be there because of how very much Andy tells everyone that he went to Cornell University. A very nice touch on the chart.
"What about an even newer voice mail message with even more zing and pep" Makes me laugh every time!
Jim trolling Andy in that sequence is awesome! I couldn't work it in. Maybe the greatest regret of my life.
@@Mulverine it's okay bud don't be t too harsh on yourself.
Legend has it that Michael still doesn’t know if Stanley stuttered.
As an office fanatic and constantly wanting to watch videos about it, I've just found your channel and I'm obsessed,
I feel it would have been a much more dwight move to have said "Michele, I sware I will think about returning power to you once I deem this crisis over"
While I will always agree that you should NEVER lambaste your boss in front of the office like that or otherwise, I will say that it felt good seeing Michael get what he deserved after so long. I think he too realized that he deserved it, which is why he only settled for calmly reprimanding Stanley for the outburst and shake his hand afterwards.
I felt the same when Jo yelled at him. It always bothered me that they always had the females in the office suffer in silence.
Is Jan dancing on Stanley’s shoulder the easter egg on 10:32?
If a Schrute ever married a McPoyle, do you think humanity would experience a new phase of evolution?
*shudders*
X-men theme
Oh drat! I’m all caught up. I am really enjoying your videos. They are the best Office review/recap/analyses out there in my opinion.
I love Stanley. I love this episode. I think you missed a very important concept here. Stanley speaks truth to power. Amidst this terrible tyrannical character who is abusing his power, Stanley stands up for himself and indirectly all those around him and expresses the truth to the tyrant
"terrible tyrannical character"
Dude, it's Michael Scott. He's a good guy at heart he's just stupid, but he's not a """tyrant,""" he means well, just... Is not smart.
This is a good point but I hate that they had the character react this way. Traditionally, Stanley would put his crossword down and just stare
einhorn also directed a ton of always sunny episodes
The rating I give for this field guide episode cold open is 5/5!!! Great beat.
You think that advertising AM/FM radio is a totally normal thing to advertise on a vehicle for sale flyer?
That sweet sweet remix tho
The XTerra had a Cornell sticker on it... did the hairstylist on the show go to Cornell?
Stanley is my inner black man
inner brown fella
10:35 is Jane even tho it’s probably already found
Damn nice found it too great eyes see alike
Andy = CORNELL??
📝⛳🛫
Stanley lambastes Michael in this episode, yet a simple glance from Charles Minor got him to drop his crossword puzzle and snap to attention. The difference is astounding.
That's so true! Though, Charles seemed like the kind of guy that'd fire you off the bat. Not fake fire you in front of the office.
@@Mulverinethank goodness Charles didn't try to do a black man fist bumb like Martin did 😅
Herë
Just noticed that Dwight didn't cross out Pam's name in the chart meaning he still wanted to work with her. I think their friendship is my second favorite thing about this show.
8:56 Can we just take a second to talk about how in this plan, Dwight is either going to “take out” Andy, or fire him. And he is the only one getting fired in all of this
You have too little subscribers for the quality of videos you put out man!
10:33 Dancing Jan
13:27 nice acting touch here; watch his right (our left) eye, how it twitches
This episode causes me anxiety 😂
Stanley just wants to be left alone. That’s all. He is not that complex. He will attend meetings, he will do what he has to do but he does not want to participate.
Stanley also respected Michael when Stanley faked quitting…
I think Stanley just doesn’t respect Michael because he’s … well Michael 😅
Steve Carrell does 4 terrible impressions back to back
Mulverine: genius!
Dancing Jan 10:33
14:50 that has gotta be the worst Seinfeld impression I've ever heard. I mean, how do you fuck something as simple as that up so bad, Michael? Come on!
The conversation between Michael and Toby in Michael's office is one of my favorite Office scenes of all time!! "I said Wha- Wha- What, Dawg?" LOL!!!!
Michael: *Is pretty explicitly being racist.*
Stanley: Knock it off!
HR: Hmm, I didn't like his tone, I've gotta step in and do something about what Stanley did.
Honestly sounds about right.
A woman in her 40s is not menopausal. Is he a ladies man farmer who understands sex & reproduction or an ignorant virgin? Pick a lane. I mean, honesty, that show is just irresponsible.
Andy has a graduate sign as he always tells he graduated from Cornell 👨🎓
They did a chart like that with the Ron Swanson “Pyramid of Greatness” on “Parks and Rec”!! 🤣😎🤣
Dancing Jan at 10:33
Wow I havent seen an Xterra in so long! Are they extinct?
haha i loved michaels carolling idea, i think it was called a summer salesalot?
10:32 Jan lol
Patrice!!!!
13:00 i lold
I did too! There was a bit of an awkward cut to Dwight and then to the lines of the cast. But it worked...
I feel like Stanley sees Michael's racial comments as more of his usual bafoonery, not particularly different and not any more worth acknowledging. He knows it doesn't come from a place of racism, at least not overt or aggressive racism but out of thoughtlessness and immaturity. He also knows that it's pointless to confront him about it because it would just lead to another incident like it did in s1e2. In short, he doesn't give a shit because it's easier to ignore or brush off with snark.
Michael calling Pam ugly isn't funny to me. It's just douchy, even for Season 1 standards. Rest is very good.
I doubt Stanley cared about Michael’s racial jokes. He was probably so used to it it either didn’t phase him or he didn’t care anymore.
i think you insuated it, but i believe that dwight is reselling andy's car to get back at him for dating angela, the woman he loves. I don't believe dwight and angela are sleeping with each other again until after the job fair, when they are the only ones still in the office.
You think that advertising AM/FM radio is a totally normal thing to advertise on a vehicle for sale flyer?
I'm watching these out of order I love the different formats
10:32 dancing jan
10:34 Jan easter egg
Michael needs validation so badly, he is devastated by Stanley’s public call-out. But it’s a professional matter, not a personal one.
I used to know a guy named Andy Cornell and I picked now to announce that to a comments section that’ll never notice. You’re welcome.
I noticed 🙏🙏
Early again I’ll throw some emojis
Dwight's chart: 💯
10:34
1000th like ☺️
Why don't other characters get more of the dundies? Every episode Michael gets at least one of them. Predictable?
Happy to see that someone else shares my love for flow charts
10:33 this is the first time I found it without comments help
WOW!!!!!! 👍 👍
Einhorn is finkle, finkle is Einhorn!
Hope you find your paradiiiiisee!!
Caesar isn't a name but a title..
The Black fist next to all the black people denotes Black power, which is just subtly racist enough to be okay. I also love that he thinks Toby is Jewish
Answer: Summer Sales a lot
The weird part of that episode was how Toby forced Michael to confront Stanley and no one has mentioned how out of character for Toby.
It is not out of character, Michael hates Toby for how stuck to the rules he is, meaining he will force Michael to do things right if company's rules are broken.
Great analysis. Thanks!

Honest talk won't happen and if happen it will not help because there is no mid ground that could exits nor people would ever care to listen besides someone here you like it or not is wrong in many ways the memes is a not to relase pressure but to work as a political/social weapon to turn around the public even in ancient Greece the knew that and they did it by another means
Glad I found your channel!
Welcome!
Really cool idea for contest!
Love the videos.
I love the edit!
That is my Scott's Tots. I can't rewatch it, I never have and I will never do it. Just seeing this review made my heart ache for Michael. I came to dislike Stanley for most of the series after this.
Hahaha still haven't watched Scotts tots after watching the rest a dozen+ times. Yeah Stanley came off a cunt. Yeah Micheal is incompetent but he is still your boss. Stanley reeks of being a hypocrite.
It didn't make me dislike Stanley but hate the writers treatment of Stanley. He was always grumpy but never rude. I hated that they did this to the character then turned him into a cheater
hey we're wearing the same shirt!
TWINNING!
6:49 interesting touch here cuz Paul is jewish. no surprise dwight canned his ass later
me also jew
Your videos are helping me get through lockdown 3.0 (UK)
Great content 👍🏼 I’ve learned so much!
That’s awesome to hear, well that they’re helpful anyway. Lockdown 3.0 not so much.
