I really like the character of Mr. Figaro, Michael's boss at his night job. He manages to be both serious and apathetic at the same time. He wants the workers to do the job by the book, and calls them out when they don't, but he never actually loses his temper at them because he knows that it's not worth the energy. In some ways he is a mirror image of Michael Scott. Where Michael considers his low-level management job to be the center of his life, Mr. Figaro has zero emotional investment in his.
One of my all-time favorite episodes: The stay at Schrute Farms, my favorite Mose moment ever: running beside the car when Jim & Pam drive in (even funnier with Pam's reaction), Creed essentially identity-theft-ing himself, "I... DECLARE... BANKRUPTSAYY!!!", the entire scene in the stairwell with Dwight and Jim - including the Jim & Pam moment immediately after, and the train scene with Michael and Jan. They actually, briefly, seemed like they weren't in a poisonous relationship after all. Nice, even given their needed break-up later. He has to be with his soulmate Holly in the end.
not a fan of jan later on after mid way in season 4 but not going to lie..compared to holly from a viewer stand point i liked jan and mike's chemistry and build up and different personalities as a couple more low key then him and holly...I get holly was made for him and jan used him and was crazy and as a dwight fan i am glad she self destructed and left the show and did not get a happy ending with mike with how she treats dwight throughout and thats how the story went and i am ok with mike being happy but it does not mean as a fan its kinda annoying that they invest so much into mike and jan in season 3 and 4 only to drop it due to this character they only had minimal access too as an actress so she was not in the show much...shes nice but meh as a show its less interesting to have her and mike be together imo...jan an mike were more entertaining interesting an toxic in a way that i liked and wanted to see them overcome...maybe make jan less crazy so its more realistic for them to end up together..i get they made her insane enough to fall for mike so it always was going to end badly for them and she did not love him at first but thats what makes them ending up together feel special if they did in the end..character development...with holly she loves mike and was forced to leave...thats not engaging thats just boring and not tragic and its handled so poorly ..once she went with a.j. i was like good leave the show...

being born in 2001, i never watched the office on nbc, but my older cousins did, so i more grew up around the office. this episode will always hold a special place in my heart because i have very vivid memory of watching it with my cousin before he left for california way back in 2007
Additional expenses - The gift baskets, the family plan after he moves to Colorado, the multiple vasectomies, the ring! He had to rebuy his house after selling it on ebay when he thought he was going to corporate. The porche, his George Forman grill( 😂) Goodbye Toby party.......
Running away from or trying to escape your problems instead of taking them head on is a common theme in this show. I just realized that him printing out the pictures is his version of PowerPoint. And when your words don't match your actions, you get Jim & Pam in Season 9.
@@Leesaloves I’m assuming because he had it reversed, he could reverse that, but I don’t know how it works either. All I know is that it must be extremely painful 😂
I'm surprised you didn't speculate on whether the idea for Jan's lawsuit originated here. 4 episodes later we are doing depositions. Maybe once she realized Michael couldn't possibly keep her in the life to which she was accustomed she hatched this lawsuit plan. Or maybe she started right after being fired, but you would think if that was the case then she would have referenced getting the lawsuit money making everything ok.
The cat Andy catches for Angela looks a lot like Garbage. Dwight just left him there a couple weeks before so I guess he was living there when Andy caught him 😂
i liked launch party and fun run better...heck dunder mifflin infinity too ..this is by far the worst of the 5 2 parters this season imo..goodbye toby is better too money just feels jarring with how much they are not in the office and then it kinda made the next episode after dinner party worse imo cause the writers were burned out so local ad feels phoned in...its not that memorable outside of mose in general and mike declaring bankruptcy
I agree with almost everything with this analysis but the cold open because personally it’s one of my favorite and most memorable just because of Jenna Fischer‘s performance
Isn’t he playing greensleeves btw? I think they use this joke multiple times. Also, you seem to be gaining subs quickly now. I’m telling you man, you’re about to blow up.
HA! Not Greensleeves, but that was what he played in Take Your Daughter to Work day (I think). Subs are increasing, 👏; thanks for the kind words! As for Dwight...I think Dwight fits whatever the writers need for him that episode. In S1 he's randomly wearing an Anime shirt. In S2 they explore his Amish roots. In S3 he's driving a classic-ish car (I guess...a car person could fill that in for me) and rocking out before the sales car. What they ended with is this smorgasbord of traits that end up making Dwight really complex and weird. Also there's the Christmas episode where him, Nate and Creed rock out to the hard rock Christmas song.
I don't think the raised fist salute was first seen in 'The Breakfast Club.' I mean.. Maybe the film was referencing the actual incident itself. And actually Michael is dim enough to be referencing the film rather than the incident. Good Lord.. I'm tying myself in more knots than you do during these videos lol.
Angela's "no vegetables, no seafood, etc." restrictions remind me of her later demands that she must be married in a 1000-year-old Christian Church in the continental United States. (For the teen-agers that show up on TH-cam videos unable to answer the most basic questions: that's about 500 years before Christianity arrived in America.) In other words, when she wants to dodge something but seem amicable, she just throws in an impossible-to-meet requirement.
I don't care if he has money problems and that's legitimate. Why did it only appear in one episode? It seems like a very bizarre episode of the week rather than a legitimate character development.
One thing I didn’t like about this episode is when Pam and Jim told Michael that they wanted to go at his place when they knew he was clearly busy and they know how much he wanted them to go over. I always thought it was a douchey move + I never liked Jim and Pam anyway
darryl is kinda odd with how direct he is....the show makes me kinda not want him and kelly to work for some reason an want her to be with ryan?..its confusing
it annoys me how pam is just trying to make dwight feel better...she says they enjoyed their stay but jim and pam just went to make fun of dwight so now they have inside jokes between them they can share all day and night and it was clearly awkward due to mose being weird and dwight's crying/pain mind state...i get shes trying but its not helping...i never liked how smug they both were alone or when pranking together but as a couple together they are insufferable honestly an it never gets better
I think it’s a bit that they just kept rolling with. Like they acknowledge it’s not mean spirited but is immature. And Jim is Smudge sometimes for sure!
I mean who wouldn't act smug towards a character like Dwight? Don't get me wrong, I love Dwight, but they just try to annoy him when he becomes insufferable. Their pranks are a way of getting back at him. There are numerous moments when Jim and Pam have treated Dwight as a true friend would. Just because they are the closest representation of 'real' humans they get judged in the harshest manner.
“Oh yes, ever since the storm...”
The storm...
I’m desperate to know what happened
My family would always say stuff like, "Oh, he doesnt ride a bicycle, not since the incident" we dont eat chicken, not since the incident

The 4 vasectomies could be added to the money count (I know it says 3, but he must have had it reversed again because of his kids in Season 9)

Mulverine, I have to say: this is a very weird Field Guide episode. I mean...the Schrute Farms B&B is GOLD and you barely say a word about it.

This episode came out the day I was born
Andy saying "Whomever is the formal version of the word."
Is the most Andy thing ever and it's hilarious.
This is one of my problems with this show. Andy graduated from an Ivy League school, yet the writers make him get dumber as the seasons go on.
