I don’t own a off road vehicle, i’ve never driven off road and i don’t think i ever will.
I don’t even work much on cars, i find it fascinating watching clever people with skills make things though and that’s why i watch.
Now i found your channel during the detailed scorpion build so at least you gained one subscriber because of that,
I might not be the right category of veiwer but i love your work and will hang around as long as you create.
    Guess that’s something... 😊

Never click away from one of Matt's videos, you might miss out on something good. Like, how to make a urinal for your shop from a simple funnel. Or in this case, how sleeving tube in a compound bend situation can greatly simplify the job.

This channel is the only channel I watch on TH-cam because of the fab work. I think the reason you lost viewers is because you stopped pulling fish out of the exhaust and topping off the blinker fluid!

Now you need another Comanche so I can see what you'll create when you're not rushing. Can never have too many Comanches. And as far as those complainers out there, it's not their truck. They didn't spend the money on it, so they don't have a say in what happens. Better than it rotting away or getting crushed.

Nice build, as most guys working in their own garage, strive to get better and learn new tricks or tips. Lots of info on the internet about how to build an off road vehicle, but none of them tell or show the lil tricks that it takes to build to that potential. Props Matt like the content of your videos a lot 👍🏻

Quick tech question for you.. I have a 96 jeep Cherokee xj sport 4.0 4x4
I want to regear to 4.11s question is I don't know if I have a 27 or 29 spline pinion.? The vin number doesn't disclose that. Problem is the only way I have to find out is to take out my pinion and count them, this is my daily and I don't want to do the job until I have all my parts. Any help would be appreciated!!
    Thanks!!!

  • @OddBallPerformance

I own a Comanche. Anybody that is mad at you for doing this doesn't quite grasp what owning one is like. Have rust? There are no dedicated patch panels. There has been small runs for certain things like long bed bed sides and rockers, but they are rare and usually expensive. Cab corners rotted away? Your ONLY choice is to either A- cut them off another Comanche or B - have insane metal working skills to fab up new ones. Anything behind the cab? Doesn't exist. The Comanche is like every other Jeep Truck, almost zero dedicated aftermarket support, and the supply of NOS parts is very thin. I love my Comanche, but it is frustrating to own one sometimes.

I don't know why people would click away. I don't ever plan on bending tube or building a cage, but watching you do this stuff has still taught me a bunch of fabrication stuff I didn't know before and it has given me the confidence to build my own bumper with a swing out tire carrier, install the lift on my TJ myself and a bunch of other things. If someone clicks away then it is their loss.

Comanche saved at the cost of the CJ. The sad part of me wonders what Matt would have done to the CJ since it was such a beast to begin with, then we saw him drive it.
The comancheap was meant to be or Matt would be upside down on fire somewhere in the CJ.

Matt, if you don't have one a deburring tool is really helpful to have and it's cheap. You can get a nice Noga deburring tool on Amazon for about $13 and it will make deburring holes and other parts really easy. Your hole saw trick worked well, but maybe a deburring tool will come in handy for other situations around the shop.

Great intro scripting! Was that Jessica Rabbit I saw? I slept on the issue with the tube bending angles and had a thought. The lasers used for making level lines in construction. You put these things on a wall and they show level lines across the wall automatically. If there is a device you can put on the tube bender that shoots a programmed angle and when you see it line up on the tube you are at the correct angle.

BleepinJeep really?! Man, I'm going tomorrow to possibly trade my xj for a zj, let me explain, money is a big issue, so, I have D60 Front and Sterling 10.5 rear from a 99 ford, and 40" tires, the zj already has 4pt coils and bigger engine, so there is no need for a subframe or engine swap. That's my point of view lol. Do you think xjs look meaner than zjs? Cause I do, i just feel it'd be cheaper and easier to do this to a ZJ rather than an Xj

Honestly I'm super cheap and buy them on geek.com or hr. They work ok.

fuzzy wuzzy those harbor freight Warrior - Item#96275 step bits have been amazing for me. I built a gottrikes tubing bender that required a crap load of holes to be drilled in 1/4" to 1" thick material. I used them in a drill press and kept them lubed with chainsaw oil. They still cut pretty good. The regular harbor freight drill bits are complete garbage though.
