Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling the next gym leader

Rock types are insanely overlooked.
They're pretty powerful in their own right, and have some of the best moves.
They’re so RNG tho. I hate them - almost every rock move is somewhat innacurate. What for? It’s so stupid.
@@therustybucket221 if there was a possibility of a Pokémon somehow being every single type, the only type that it would be actually weak to would be Rock. So I'm guessing it's a bit of a fool proofing the game so we don't end up with completely broken Pokémon, and even if we did, it would be an actual challenge to beat gambling with the high power low accuracy rock type moves. Idk that's my justification.
@Aquarium Gravel okay… so then if that’s the logic, why isn’t earthquake banned or too op? Extremely powerful, check - neutral against most types, check - accurate, check. I still stand by my point. Same for return, thunderbolt, scald (which also has 30% burn chance) etc.

@@therustybucket221 but is 80% accuracy for most moves that bad? Especially when most lower speed or defense, something you really don't want lowered on your pokemon? Not saying they shouldn't have more moves with more utility, but it's not that bad. Bug type has gotten it way worse by comparison, and even then it's got good moves, it's just way harder to find them than the 50 different ways to fire fire from your asshole.

Rock type, a type that is normally known for having a ton of weaknesses that puts it at an extreme disadvantage comparatively to the other types. However, unlike the other mediocre types, Rock has some of the most powerful pokemon in the game, and has some surprisingly diverse combinations. If you really wanted a challenge for a mediocre type, I'd say Ice would be the hardest. While Ice hits super hard, it is probably the frailest type in the entire game, and thus it becomes a lot harder to focus around bulky cores.
The bigger issue is that ice types are almost all end late game unless he changes the day around to get the right weather in the wild areas.

Or grass in pokemon sword. Because u cant get Lotad, it is (almost?) Impossible to defeat the fire gym

Says +sp atk is bad for rolycoly, but actually most coalossus use special moves cause of their ability
Steam engine isn’t all that helpful in nuzlockes cause no AI is gonna use a 4x resisted fire move on your coalossal and most water moves will OHKO coalossal.

I don’t watch any other nuzlocke than Antler his voice isn’t annoying and he knows his stuff
I recommend FlygonHG and SilphSpectre (the latter even commented one of Antlers videos). They both do a pretty good job at hardcore nuzlockes. But yeah, Antler is the best one 💪😎

I feel like in later gens, rock types really shine more because of the diversity in secondary types. In the earlier games most, rock types only had ground as their secondary types which made then quad weak to grass and water, two VERY common types, so people tended to overlook them a lot. When they started getting better secondary types they became so much better

Heres a new challenge for you if you wanna change content a bit (Don't have to, just thought it'd be a break from the same kind of content so you don't get tired):
Can you beat a pokemon game using only moves introduced in that game/generation?
It wont work for Red, Blue and Yellow, but any other game is a go. Remakes I'm not sure if it should be for their original generation or the one they are in at that time, up to you!
Basially, whenever you can access one, you have to use pokemon with moves from that game/generation. It can be a nuzlocke but I'd suggest going through it normally just to see if its a challenge that's completeable that way.
So for some you have very limited options in terms of usable pokemon. You can have the move available but you cant use it in battle, so you can use hms. I think it makes it so you start to use moves you wouldn't normally, like stockpiling.

Gen 1: 165
Gen 2: 84
Gen 3: 102
Gen 4: 112
Gen 5: 91
Gen 6: 57 (61 in Oras)
Genn 7: 61 (84 in USUM (might include z moves))
Gen 8: 84

Having a special attack boosted coallossal is great actually it gets better special moves than physical moves
