Your video is inspiring. I like your pixel art style. Can you provide tips as to how to start getting into pixel art and getting good it? How did you personally learn and practice pixel art?
At the end of the day if you improve your drawing skills you will improve your pixel art skills! : ) I recommend starting with the BaM Animation channel. Once you've learned their teachings, you can proceed to dedicated pixel art tutorials (like the Krita pixel art tutorials of GDQuest)
The game looks great - I have to play that :D ! My thoughts from an artist view to limitations - as much they can be feel limiting - they can give a lot of artistic freedom. :)
This isn't meant to be a hate comment. I think it's genuinely impressive that you made this in a weekend. But isn't the point of game jams to have original ideas? You said Into the Breach was your inspiration, but this is just a stripped-down copy of that game with punching as the only combat mechanic and killing enemies as the only objective. It doesn't add anything to the concept or provide a unique spin. Again, just curious what the grading system for Game Jams is. If I were on the judge panel, I would say "well-made game, but doesn't have any new ideas"
Interesting poing. Well... I don't think the point is necessarily to have original ideas. One can join a game jam to focus specifically in writing, coding, art or something else. Even if it's to train/improve on some specific aspect of gamedev. In my case, I was able to explore and improve many skills even if the game design / premise was not super original. I mean, not every game has to be revolutionary unique. Sometimes we can just improve/change upon existing games. : ) Earthbound -> Undertale Harvest Moon -> Stardew Valley Zelda -> Tunic etc...
With the M3 MAX Chip on Apple, do you still bealive that its a MUST to have a Windows? Please don't hate, it's just that I come from a design background and all my equipment is from Apple. But I'd love to become a game dev. so I really need help :( with it. I've read a lot of comments that now 2024 apple is gonna be more focused on 3D projects etc
Hey Jesus, I don't think so. I do gamedev mostly on linux (although I have a win machine and a mac available). Windows is the ideal choice for AAA games since they usually push the limits in terms of graphics. But as a solo/indie developer, you can just pick a game engine that works well on Mac, and you'll be good to go! Unity was mac only in its early days... If that's not proof enough IDK what is : )
@@Zizaco hey I need your help I never played a tactics or strategy games and I need your expert experience im trying to get 6 small projects and expand my interest in games and topics now if you excuse me im going to think about the characters
Clickbait title. I expected the video to contain information about how to design a strategy or how to balance it or how to implement certain parts like enemy AI or fog of war.

@@Zizaco thank you so much for your comment! 🥺 really appreciate it
Typescript??
Yeah, Typescript! I know many folks dislike it, but I enjoy the balance between dynamic (like Lua & Python) and static (C#, Java) typing
