You guys. Seriously. All three of you are new discoveries for me, and I've just fallen in love with all of you. 🙂Thank you so much for both of these videos, for your respectful and kind interactions with each other, and for your genuine enthusiasm. I feel like I've just spent a wonderful afternoon with three positive and great people. Happily, I'll be following your channels in the future. Thank you again!

Thank you so much, Asentoni! I'm so happy you got something out of our ramblings! :) Yeah, the "chilling in the afternoon with buds" vibe is what we like to go for with these kinds of videos!

I have one thing I want so bad for DAV: I want to see Aveline and hear her comments on Varric's Sword and Shield book cover. Even better if Cassandra is there too.

I don't remember, but one issue of story loose end is the reverse of the tranquility rituals that Cassandra wanted to make research on.

Another left behind story is the thing with Alexius' time magic research. Maybe there will be some time skips possible.

Morrigan won't appear in DAV her voice actress already mentioned that she isn't in Dragon Age Veilguard BUT it's been a few months so maybe ..
In the DA The Descent DLC Valta (the dwarven woman) used magic in the end she hit Inky and her/his companions.

My tin foil hat theory is that Harding gets some kind of ability if shes the one you select to help you bring down the statue.

To give BioWare the absolute barest minimum of credit, they did have occasional minor characters as early as Origins that had definite visual implications of Asian equivalency--though in Origins' case the online consensus on which characters that might entail makes it appear to be only women, (specifically Liselle in Denerim, Anora's handmaiden Erlina, and Allison in Lothering) the larger implications of which is honestly probably a conversation all its own. I actually distinctly remember the moment I first met Liselle in Denerim, (true to point, a very minor character) sporting an Orlesian accent and especially Asian-inspired features that all made her stand out quite a bit as a result. Apparently it's often been kind of a thing for white people to have a moment where they realize how shallowly the media they consume imply that people of a given race are only ever of nationalities associated with that race, even in fantasy contexts, and it would seem that moment in Origins was mine.

My downside is the fiction, that every party member somehow falls in love with the main. It would be a huge plus, if Bioware went the extra mile to implement party-romances/deeper friendships within without the influence of the main. Even some banter/scenes, where the main is asked by a companion "what should I do, if I'm interested in person x, and don't laugh!" There is party progressing without the main present, dammit! Garrus/Tali seems to be the only one I would remember from Bioware's former installments.
Modding romances and friendships into BG 2 was the first thing that was added by the community asap. And by today, there are even a few very good (same sex) romances that don't need the influence of the main.

In DA:I, there's actually a romance between Dorian & Iron Bull if (1) you don't romance either of them and if (2) they have enough opportunities to banter during exploration (aka bringing both of them in your party). It was a very pleasant surprise when I saw that unfold in one of my playthroughs! Additionally, if I'm not mistaken, there's also Blackwall sometimes saying lines that suggest he's interested in Josephine but that spark doesn't work out in the end.

They did say that in this, if you don't romance your companions, they will get together with each other

Been waiting since DA2 to romance Varric.. I hope he's available. Bianca was killed by Solas his next Crossbow will be called Rook.

Regarding the companion combat: A big aspect of the games for me was party composition and making a team that could really work together well. The fear I have for DA4 is that the choice of companions will not matter in combat scenarios. If every combat is just Rook and 2 background characters that do some extra damage, I feel like the combat might become a bit boring over time. Hopefully they give every companion something unique that benefits a lot against specific combat scenarios and creates opportunities for some cool combo interactions.

I definitely agree with you that decreasing our party size is suboptimal to me. I like having as many people adventuring side by side with me as much as possible. What I think I will miss most about it is that I feel it will cut back on the amount of "party banter" that would take place as we're exploring. Before, companion A could banter with companion B or C at any given moment. On rare occasions, all 3 would banter with each other. (And that's not taking your PC character into consideration.) But with only 2 other companions, I feel like there's a lot of banter I'd be missing out on by comparison.

@@angelarts True, they'll have to add a lot more banter or the companions might fall silent after a while. Hopefully they can compensate by adding a lot of 3way interactions between Rook and the 2 companions, and by adding remarks about the area you're currently in.

I was the same way about finding LGBT+ romances in games. I was in my late 40's when I first started playing gams with WoW. But it wasn't till I played SWTOR and had my first f/f romance in one of the expansions that I started looking up other games. Thus found DAI, and fell in love with the game, though I am still pissed about not being able to fully romance Cassandra lol. Then I got into Mass Effect after the Legendary Edition dropped, and now I have 3 main games I play with good queer romances. Now I will have a new one, and can't wait to get a hold of that damn adorable dwarf Harding, :D
