@@dverser that assumption could only come from an American (probably). My English is good too (it sounds weird when I say it myself, but I did study the language up to bachelor's degree level, so it's one of the few things I am confident in). Every single American I have met and talked to didn't believe me at first when I told them I never lived in the US or any other English-speaking country. It's so weird to me haha.

While unrest in Donbas turned into a civil war by arrival of Girkin and his armed troops. The 2013 coup in Ukraine is a Ukranian business, why would Russia need to interfere? Suddenly people have bleeding hearts for the Ukrainians but they didn't have any sympathy for the Ukrainians living in Donbass who were getting bombed by their own government.13,000 people have died since 2014. The Ukrainian government said these are paid Russian seperatists. Those deaths include old women, little kids, and you can google the photos from the bombing, there are ordinary people who died on their way to get groceries. That's not even mentioning that this whole thing started because US funded to coup the elected government in 2014. The pro-US "Ukrainian" activists burned 31 anti-government protestors alive by trapping them in a building and setting it on fire. Where is the justice for all those have been murdered for 8 years?

Countries taht are not involved or far away from this conflict don't realize how insane this situation is, how much propaganda, chaosz fake news and fear there is.
Honestly, I know everyone has their own opinions, but please listen first to the people who are actually involved and experience this and have credible sources and knowledge about the situation. We're already well aware and couscous about fake news, but it spreads around the world, to the places that often have no experience with it and it's very dangerous. So listen only to the reliable sources, don't spread misinformation, don't donate to some random organizations, don't post in social media random facts or videos, it's a live or death situation for those people, so have some respect.

@Sven Andersson I think the large majority of people are able to separate between government and the people, and are also able to separate between the part of the population who support the government and the part of the population that doesn't.
So yeah, OBVIOUSLY there are SOME normal everyday Russian people who have something to do with the invasion. Don't be stupid. BUT, there are OTHERS who don't. Furthermore, just because there are SOME who support their government invading Ukraine, doesn't mean that they are bad people or that the deserve to have their life savings ruined. The majority of Russians who support the war are still good people, and are victims of their government's decision, even if they support that decision.

Like one of the interviewee mentioned, anything Russian will be sanctioned. I'm from NYC, there are many Russia and Ukrainian businesses here. I also have Ukrainian and Russia friends but there's no animosity between them. One of my Jewish Russian friend owns a store and people have avoided buying from them despite his family fleeing Russia in the 70s. I understand that people are angry and want to blame someone, but it's definitely wrong to ostracize Russians who have nothing to do with the war. We still haven't learned from history. Its not geopolitical, study it a bit and you will see. Baltic states are already in NATO, they dont need Ukraine if they want to aim at Russia. Putin even made it clear that hes up to the Czar times, that means Alaska should be back to Russia too. Putin needs a war, thats how he got in power. Study why Jelcin made from the shades Putin president, study the first Chechnya war and the ''terrorist'' attack in Moscow, whom the muslims are blamed not FSB. I spended so much thous days about this topic cus I have friends in Russia as well in Ukraine, and Im from Bosnia and Herzegovina who had war 30 years ago. At the bitter end, Moscow today is not bombed, its Ukraine by Russias led Putin, he has nukes, only Russians can stop him but since they support him and he is a de facto dictator, hardly this gonna end so soon. Since this, everyone wants join NATO and EU, its not that they are expanding as everyone wants to get away from Moscow, just as it was during the collapse of the Warshaw pact. GDP or Russia is almost like the state of Texas, Bangladesh has more population than Russia, Russia is the biggest country in the world and had border wars with every country including China many times. Its not about NATO, what u people think ? That nuking a capital city makes it a target no. Putin could buy elections in Ukraine in 2014, but the western pact gave more money, Ukraine never had any fair elections, same as Russia and Belaruss. But Ukraine gave lgbt rights, women where seen on presidental elections.

@@Jopa955 this is a geopolitical issue. You are confusing geopolitics with war. Putin doesn't fear war with NATO. Russia NATO war will never happen because of the nukes. Putin, being the one in power, doesn't want western influence in politics of Russia(or of its neighbour countries).
While Russia GDP might be low, they have huge resources. Its interesting to see how Putin will handle the sanctions. Iran did fairly well, Russia is in much better position than Iran was. Will this mark the end of Russia as a threat to the western interests or will it grow bigger, we'll have to wait and see. If Putin could somehow unite Russia, India and China using this conflict, it will create a new age in world order for better or worse.
Every single country in this conflict have made terrible decisions so far escalating it more and more. Ukrainian citizens are the biggest losers in this war with almost nothing to gain. EU countries(Germany and Italy specially) will lose a lot too. US and China are the clear winners.

one thing that your money isn't avaliable for you to freely use it and completely other thing is when you get a missile in your appartment/house. these two things are absolutely incomparable.
if you think that Ukrainians don't have trouble with money these days, you're wrong. A LOT of people have lost their jobs due to this war, and because of the battles in southern and eastern regions of Ukraine (which means there's no way to transport foods and stuff from that regions to other) the prices in stores skyrocketed. Salesman from ocupated territories are forbidden to sell their products in Kyjiw or anywhere else so they MUST throw away the goods they have planted and harvested...
I totally understand that many Russians really don't support this barbarism, but there are also people (what frightens me the most - there are women among them), who are being supportive of the situation and even encourage Russian soldiers (their husbands, brothers, sons etc) to kill and rape women/NEWBORN children and even men....
I just hope this nightmare ends as quickly and as less painful as possible.....
