Jacob's injuries may be a blessing in disguise. Kerr's been racing in the red all indoor season and Jacob's building toward a peak in Paris after less racing. I wouldn't bet against Jacob any time, but it's looking really good for him this year.
I’m so glad Jakob still believes he is the best and wants to race a lot this summer and is building towards something special. It means we can enjoy a lot more of his amazing performances!
Very honest interview. I really like Jacob. Kerr is great too. Will be really interesting. I think Jacob was just staying behind to get the measure. Looking at the bigger picture.
Honestly, I think Jakob is quietly hinting that he is going to drop a world record in the Olympics. If he is running a smooth 3:45 as an opener after being injured, and you can hear in his voice that he is oozing with confidence.
@@chazdavis1644 i don't think he has to solo the WR now. Nguse and Kerr have shown they are on a similar level so he will have company all the way. Even if they run a WR, there is no guarantee that the winner is jakob.
@@chazdavis1644 - I agree. I don't see him getting below 3:26. Even if he breaks 3:27 I'd be a bit surprised. Not saying he doesn't have the potential. Just not this season.

i can see anybody out of the top three win in paris. Kerr running a new brit record, Jakob running a 3:45 straight out of an injury, and nuguse running another top 5 american performace. its gonna be close
Yeah it will be interesting with Nuguse. He’s still gaining experience and I think Dathan has been training the on guys hard (not peaking at this point).
Congratulations to Kerr, New British Record..Has had a busy year, many good races..Kinda a peak..Jacob 1st race of year..Outstanding time and his peak is coming..Going to be interesting..Go Nuguse, great race, not quite there..Watch out for Hobbs, he is more determined now than ever..
Jakob still has much faster times than Kerr in the 1500m (8th fastest time of all time; Kerr’s fastest time is tied for 57th) and Mile (3rd fastest time of all time; Kerr now has the 10th fastest time) so he’s really not making excuses; when he’s 100% he is the fastest man currently racing in both of those distances.
@@iberiksoderblom Jakob has no kick my friend, he got exposed again today, if he can’t beat people with the pace of the first 2 laps he has no chance, he can’t sprint to save his life.
And when you wake up your coffee will be cold already 🙂. I don't see that happening this season for Jakob - the disruption to his training just set him back that little bit too much. But I will be the first to eat my words and apologize if he does indeed get either. I really really like Jakob.
Kerr has used this guy to become great he needs a rival to motivate him, paris will be a cracker if everyone stays injury free must be confident giving jakob a 10 metre start with about 600 to go and believed he could run him down I think over last 400m Kerr is the best so Jacob will have to win the hard way in paris jacob cant win a slow race and we know Kerr can clock 3.45 early season that tells me close to the world record is required
I am a big Ingebrigtsen fan, but starting to lose respect for some of the comments he is making. Just give Kerr the respect he deserves. Kerr definitely picked up a lot, and I feel his range is getting much better, if one considers his world record in the 2 miles, and also that insanely fast 800m. That gives him the ability to either run a slightly slower race and kick hard, or run fast from the start.
He hasn’t raced in an entire year and was doing cross training for his injury all the way up until a couple months ago so not really the craziest statement
@@Ruhan885For most of the athletes this was their first mile/1500 of the outdoor campaign and respectfully this was NOT a slow race. Everyone expecting WRs every week fail to see the Forrest through the trees. They’re all building to peak in Paris.
