Jacob's injuries may be a blessing in disguise. Kerr's been racing in the red all indoor season and Jacob's building toward a peak in Paris after less racing. I wouldn't bet against Jacob any time, but it's looking really good for him this year.

Honestly, I think Jakob is quietly hinting that he is going to drop a world record in the Olympics. If he is running a smooth 3:45 as an opener after being injured, and you can hear in his voice that he is oozing with confidence.

I didn't hear any injury excuses though from Jake.

He has admitted it afterward, that his first lap was maybe 2 seconds too fast, and he himself got schocked when he saw the time, but it came out of that his feet felt so great that he didn't know that he had opened so hard,it was 1 second better than the world record,so he tried to slow down a bit,but the result was still too fast, then he got a couple of meters, and became to eager, and the result we could all see,he run out of gas,and didn't have his usual kick, and got outkicked by the three other guys,he even admitted that they was great racers and was best that day.If you take a look at some of jacobs earlier races,he usual start increases his speed gradually on the two last laps, and very often he then stride away from his competitors, and if they follow he take them with his kick.I'm not sure the others would have had a better kick than him,if he had run in his usual way.I have seen a comparison of some of Kerr's best races against some of Jacob's best races, and have seen a comparison of ever 100 m at maybe the two last laps, and Jacob had in that comparisons may be better kick than Kerr,if I remember things right.

Kerr definitely picked up a lot, and I feel his range is getting much better, if one considers his world record in the 2 miles, and also that insanely fast 800m. That gives him the ability to either run a slightly slower race and kick hard, or run fast from the start.
