Everyone here just looks so happy and in the right vibe of everything! Everyone may be one race here but good vibes are contegeous. I'm sure these artist's could empathize with the frustration of being left out of the American dream or played out in it's pursuit.
I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see a mass celebration of music like this. Fast forward 30, 40 years and crowds today are now celebrating Lakers Championships by overturning and/or torching cars and lighting dumpsters on fire. For as bad as things sometimes were back then, it seems they indeed were the good old days compared to what we now have in 2013. Unfortunately.

Just love everything about this, including the legendary event, and the Ashford and Simpson original. Captures the mood of that time and Wattstax sooooo well.
