  • We held our first ever plant sale and so far it seems to be a success! But it wouldn't be a success without a little organization. Check out how we set up our sale and the information we provided to potential customers - signs on the road, information about plants, easy-access price list, and more!
    Also included are some ways to increase your email subscribers!
    *Sorry - plant sale check list is no longer available!*

    Thank you for the tips. My soon-to-be 10 year old is doing his own sale. It will definitely be much smaller than what you’re describing but the tips are still good 😊

    I’m really glad I stumbled upon your channel! Attending my first farmers market in town. Taking a slow and really appreciate your advice. Hoping to sell out of my greenhouse. We’ll see how it goes!

    Unfortunately cheques are a bad idea, there are scammers that have cheques on overdrawn accounts just to rip people off. I only once took a cheque and it bounced, lady didn't even live at the address on them.

      That’s a definite possibility! Fortunately 1, we live in a small community and know most of our customers before they’re customers. And 2, if checks bounce they can be sent to the states attorney where they take care of the bad check process and businesses will still get their money. Of course, cash is always useful!

    This is a great video! Thank you for the information and the checklist. This is going to be my first "plant sale" only. After that day, I will mix plants with vegetables at my farmer's market. 👩‍🌾🙂

      That’s awesome!! Here’s a link where you should receive it after submitting your email, but if you want to send an email to jctrustichomestead@gmail.com I’ll find the file in the next few days and can send! I’m not on my computer as much but I have a copy there. Thanks!

    Just out of curiosity do you have a video of how you build up your medicine boxes?

    • @JTFarmGirlLife
      @JTFarmGirlLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Roy! I’m sorry I’m not quite sure what you mean by “medicine boxes”. Could you give a description and maybe I’ll be able to figure it out?

      Sorry I was using talk-to-text I meant to say lettuce boxes

    • @JTFarmGirlLife
      @JTFarmGirlLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh! Sorry I don’t think I do. I called them “lettuce boxes” for lack of a better term but they were just containers with lettuce starts in them - people could cut and let them grow for several harvests. Anywhere from maybe 6-8 plants.

    Great tips in your video. I had my first plant sale last year just having people come individually after setting up a time. I did a lot of teaching, so the 1:1 was nice I that regard This summer I'd like to have a plant "yard sale" type set up and I don't think there would be time to do as much teaching about the plants and the garden. I really like the idea of laminating sheets with a picture and description. I also really liked your idea to let customers walk through your garden to see what things looked like.

      Thank you! I’m sure everyone appreciated your 1-on-1 time! Would you maybe be able to find a helper or two so you could continue the education? Or have time slots on the hour or something where the group could listen for 10-15 min? Just brainstorming! Good luck!

    You probably won't see this, but thanks a lot. This is going to be our first (of many, I hope) plant sale. This list will help a lot!

      You’re welcome! I’m just sorry I don’t have time to upload more! Good luck! (And PS - I got your comment 😉)
