Great videos Solon! You got a few copycats out there but not a fraction of the style and effort you put forth. F.Y.I. I'm a flame guy my first horror with um was a 76 Buick Century Azure blue with candy blue flames and a built big block. Show and Go. Keep up good work. Always look forward to a new top 10 list from you! Tim, Las Vegas
At 18 Years old I restored a 1948 English ford Anglia, Came out better than new, Fabricated new floors a sheet metal friend bent be are the metal for floors, I installed ,Stronger than new,, I put a pinto engine with 1500 miles in it, drove like a Brand new car. A 75 year old man from Puerto Rico, Painted 2 tone red and white, 6 inch fur for headliner, and shipped to his country., 47 years ago .
The Packard is, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. Flames, much like pin stripes, have their place. They don't fit every body style, but with the right build they can certainly enhance the paint job.
Flames on a pre 50’s Hot Rod are acceptable if they are done in the era correct style. They look completely out of place on just about everything else, no matter the style. IMHO
My first pick would be the red angle thames panel wagon then the chevelle and I really liked the Ford Starliner and the Packard was also nice e but the angle is my first pic for sure that k you for the video
The 1958 Thames Anglia Delivery truck is freakin awesome, I love the fat baloneys in the back, lobster claw flames in the front and overall badass look for the streets.
Love the engine and trans combination in the 1921 Model T Roadster, but how does a person get in it with the exhaust blocking the doors and how would you get out when the exhaust is hot. Not very good planning on the builder's part, but it looks wicked.
The 54 is real nice, But I would have gone with Bigger engine than a 350, Diesel maybe, or 454 502, And not 456 gears, That must scream, down the highway,
I generally don't like flames on a car unless it's a vintage of 40's-50'S Era correct Hot rod. For instance, Flames wouldn't look good on 73 Buick Regal, IF your build a 32 High Boy, 40 Plymouth or 57 Bel-Air by all means, throw some flames on that thing but if your building a 81 Delta 88 or 99 Honda shitbox Just Say NO to Drugs and leave the flames off. Tex
@@chillaxin813 Eh I don't mind them on a shoebox, Like I said I generally don't like them but they're acceptable on some cars. Especially vintage hot rods and to me a Shoebox falls into that category.
@@TheREALOC1972 LOL I thought about shoeboxes when I replied. Since they were introduced in ‘49, I kinda put them in the pre 50’s category. So yes, shoebox + flames = cool.
@@TheREALOC1972 right again, any slab sided car was referred to as a shoebox back in the day, but in my area the name stuck on the ‘49 thru ‘51 Fords and nothing else. I guess it depends on your age and where you live.
I had a 79 2 DR Delta 88 that i painted flames on it. I took it to a lot of local car shows in the northeast Ohio area and always got lots of positive comments. I love flames on old cars. My current project will likely get flames to complete the rat rod look. Thanks Solon for another awesome video. Looking forward to more as i am looking for my next project ride. My favorite car tonight is the 1921 model t roadster. Bobby ❤
Ford Starliner BEAUTIFUL!
I like the ghost flames.
As an old car painter starting in the mid `70`s I like most cars better without flames.

Flames-depends on the car and the colors involved some flame jobs don't look that great but there are some flame paint jobs that are fantastic
My favorites are the Coe, tex
Not all flame jobs are created equal. The right style of flames on the right car has always been cool!
That Tex sign would look great on my wall

Love the painted flames!

Loved the 1960 Ford, i had a baby blue one with custom white interior!
Tex! I like the flames if they start out white and fade to yellow orange and red on a blue body.
Tex! The VW was really nice
Tex. The Packard is timeless.

Tex great show keep up the good work be safe my friends God bless all
Tex. No flames, I like sleepers.
Tex, I like flames on some cars that makes the car look good and to many flames is overkill 😎🇺🇸
You hit the nail on the head with that one Howard!
Tex. I prefer the COE
Flames aside, there are a lot more desirable cars below the 1980's than just American cars, please show them,
Flames 🔥 depends on the vehicle in my opinion.
Tex nice show and good job
TEX! Love the channel😊
Thanks AFV!
Love the packard
Nice Texaco sign..would look great with all my other signs.. We don't get very much Texaco signs here in Canada
TEX. I like flames on most but not all.
Flames are nice if done right !
Love the videos...TEX!

I like flames if they are done right
Tex, I like the Packard. Lot of overpriced ones in here my opinion. Some cars flames look good Some don't.
Tex, great show as always
Thanks Andy!
I appreciate your channel. TEX Good luck to you with it.
Thank you !
Like 23 ratrod
Tex, look forward to these, good stuff
I appreciate the kind comment Greg!
Tex I'm a BIG Chevelle fan, but, then You showed the Packard, so guess what. That Starliner is nice and I really like the '23 T.
Yeah, that Packard is just absolutely amazing. Whoever designed the custom custom, detail it is great at what they do.!
Tex...like your channel
Depends on vehicle the Flames are painted on it.
Never cared for flames, even when I was young! That Starliner would be my choice!,
I like flames when it’s period correct for a hot rod
TEX keep up the good work
Thanks Walter!
The 1958 Thames Anglia Delivery truck is freakin awesome, I love the fat baloneys in the back, lobster claw flames in the front and overall badass look for the streets.
That car would make a great model car to design and build as well!

Not sure, I have thought the same thing!
We are all thinking that same thing, going to be a stretch getting you leg over those pipes. But you look cool driving into the show
Flames re 50s and old, done to death.
Tex love signs !

I would like to get in touch with last week's winner Randy Sprague TEX TEX
I actually have the scale model of the 60 Stariiner in the very same color scheme, and it is a original color scheme as well OK 😊it's a 1/32 scale
Sometimes the flames look ok depending on car their on.
As for me
I don't care for them.

Agreed, accept I wouldn’t flame a Tri Five Chevy either. Pre 50’s Hot Rod? Sure. Anything else? Nope.
