To be fair to some customers, I have also gotten the treatment that I just dont know how it is supposed to taste and that my opinion is just wrong. And that is when you do explode onto the servers too.
Had this really terrible plate of fish at a restaurant in Croatia. Was rubbery and tasteless, but yet somehow had a really weird after-taste. I tried to complain, butbit was futile: I was just ignorant ant wrong according to them. They didnt even offer me a discount. So yeah... There I left 20 eur poorer and still hungry.... 😒

You actually see how nice Gordon is. That old man was so enthusiastic and passionate about his tableside filet mignon thing that Gordon couldn't bring himself to let the guy down to his face. Instead, he tried to keep a straight face, and stay calm, and explain what was wrong later. He just saw a nice old grandpa who was really passionate about what he was trying to serve, and he just couldn't bring himself to let the guy down too hard... Gordon is a real nice guy at heart, despite him being known for screaming all the time lmfao.

I'll give that guy a little credit for trying to bring the "circuses" to his restaurant, but even I thought that was a bit disgusting. Yes, that tile was probably brand new and maybe scrubbed clean, but it's an item that's not meant to have food cooked on it.
He could have done plenty by simply setting up a small hot plate with a cast iron and finishing the steak right there in front of the customer the traditional way.

Such shows only stand to make it clear that you cannot trust restaurants or other people’s cooking. You are the only one that knowns your health and preference and tolerance. Hell, I reject office potlucks because you see my nasty coworkers on a daily let alone allow them to cook for me. Then capitalistic farming corporations that refuses to lose a penny will already sell into the food supply meat 🥩 from animals that had cancer or died from a virus 🦠 I don’t trust the USDA to do right by the people. They’re often in bed with these corporations. They will allow these farmers to sell contaminated meats under different labeling outside of “premium,” “grade A,” etc. They allow them to treat contaminated meats with ammonia and food colouring with the addition of pink slime for filling, etc. Sooo you can imagine these low level mom-and-pop restaurants who are looking for profit are not shopping for the best cut of meat in the first place and are taking every shortcut to reduce paying wages to a food prep staff by buying unfresh and/or foods laced with loads of chemical preservatives. And the US wonder why cancer has increased since the 1970s 🙄 It’s a no brained to me. CAPITALISM! Everyone more concerned about the bottomline over integrity. The will manipulate labeling, nutrition facts, serving size, etc. at the farming level before your ingredients even hit a janky restaurant.
Can you blame her? I'm betting she's spent most of her time there seeing and hearing people be disgusted by the food and they didn't do anything.

Gordon can be so respectful to the chefs and waitress/waiters yet be so ruthless, I love it.
I’ve noticed that Europeans seem to be more honestly critical in situations where Americans just sort of look the other way instead of pointing out things that might bruise egos. There’s certainly plenty of exceptions, but Americans don’t like being criticized.
