Great compilation, I am definitely getting old as I still consider the britannias and 9fs as modern steam locomotives when I reality they are museum pieces from a bygone era and even the diesels still look new to me especially the class 47 in two tone green. I think as railway enthusiasts we probably had the best of the railways in terms of variety from the mid 50s to the early 90s, however I do accept that the modern railway is a business and that rationalisation and standardisation is the way to go.
Excellent production John, with a wide range of clips, the clip at the Foxfield had me on the edge of my seat....Thoroughly enjoyed sitting back and soaking up the footage...Keep safe...Regards....Bob
One of the best compilations of freight that I have seen. Thank you for compiling this selection and uploading for our enjoyment. Very much appreciated. :-)
Certainly special, thanks John for all that has gone into this, and very much enjoyed. All superb but high spots for me: the colours on the 8F boiler at 21:15; the snow/frost atmosphere at 32:50; Foxfield 5* drama at 35:15; the standing start at 42:09. Hope you're keeping safe and well. Kind regards, Bob.
Another good compilation John with a wide selection of freights. Like you I always looked forward to filming a freight on the preserved lines. I'd say the GCR does it best with the SVR a close second
thanks john wonderful, only apart from the 9f and 8f the steam locos are too clean still miss the stopping and starting of the lose coupled trains with the wagons banging together and when the train was stretched out remember the coke trains that were around washwood heath for the gas works fantastic day they were
Yes I remember this day well with gale force winds and extremely cold. Well worth the effort though and thanks for taking time to comment. Regards, John
This steam trains are doing special travels, or you can find steam trains still working on Great Britain? Or it's some special steam railway? I just wanted to know
This video features the Great Central which is a preserved railway. In normal times there are many steam railtours that run on the mainline. My channel features many of them over the past 11 years. Thanks for your interest. Regards, John
Man goods train are so slow for real. They stop every station by station till finally reached the end of the line. Like seriously sometimes goodstrain are mixed with different kinds of trucks
