I'm touched bro. I'm legit tearing up cause I really relate. I'm a mess a the moment. I'm retaking a year and I still feel like a failure and I'm almost done with my first semester. But this has really changed my mindset and I'm feel like I'm going to kill it. Thank you ❤
I messed up my whole year of yr12, for my EOY i got a DEU and i just proceed to go into yr13, My school didn’t have any options on retaking yr12 even if it means flopping them, either we drop out of school and go to other institutions or go into yr13 with bad grades. Then first exam of yr13 i flunk my exam again my teachers are now losing hope on me, they even encouraged me to just dropout (which I even considered) but I can’t bcuz I feel bad for my parents, now my mock exam is in a couple of days i HOPE I can at least do decently on my maths and Bio, but for my chemistry i just know i will still flunk in that class. PRAY FOR ME EVERYONE😓🙏🏻
Hi , same I messed up year 12 and I am actually retaking the year, I want to do dentistry and although there are dental schools that do accept retakes I feel like an absolute failure and I feel like my life is over.
Similair story to me. I failed AS levels originally got UUUE in my mocks but got CCDD for Y12 AS then resat everything using option 1 and got AAB.A Levels were humbling and stressful.
I teared up while watching this damn. Really relate to everything you said throughout the video. My AS results came in today and i was down in the dumps. This video really helped my mental health and gave me an idea of what to do next! Thankyou Aldrich!
Being in the year below is nothing, I was in the year below after resitting AS and I hardly felt any difference amongst maturity and experience as I would've in my initial year. I have a friend whos two years older than the year she is in at university and it's really not that big of a deal. No one seems to care anyway, you might get a lil jabs from your friends but thats about it. Past GCSE, ages are so weird because you could be sharing a class with 30 year olds, 17 year olds, 21 year olds. Once you get to uni, age is not even a thing. I have friends ranging from 16-35. If the only thing thats holding you back from resitting is age, it really doesn't mean anything.
I’d say you were more strong-minded and more level-headed than me haha. 100% agree with you about age not mattering especially when you get to uni. You meet all types of people from varying ages and cultures. It’s beautiful. From my perspective, I tied a lot of my personal values in doing well academically (based on my environment and experiences), so things like feeling like a failure and being behind in life hit hard for me. Ultimately I took this experience and grown from it. It’s one of those trials you go through in life that helps you mature, be more humble, and have a clearer picture of what your life is about. So I’d disagree with you when you say “it really doesn’t mean anything,” because for me it did, and I know a lot of people who can relate. Not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying I hope we can both help others who were in our position to become/remain strong, to believe in themselves, and to motivate them to change for the better💪💯
@@aldrichcervania8833 I know what you mean. When I say 'it doesn't matter' - what I meant is, being a year older has no bearing on future prospects or the experiences that people will go through because 1 year is hardly anything. Life isn't a race and everyone is on their own path.
got CEE for AS, and was advised to repeat the year this year. Really nervous though, hope everyone that is going through the same things the best of luck
Got my AS results this year and wasn't enough to continue year 14 (I am from Northern Ireland, equivalent to year 13) due to my lack of self-discipline and was advised to repeat all three of my subjects. What makes me feel down is the fact that my friends will be moving on without me and I know at some point i have to accept it, but it's the fact that i would be missing the signing my tshirt during leaver's day, missing the year 14 graduation speech with my year group. Graduating with people 1-2 years younger than me just doesn't feel right, especially if i have only spent two years with them. I was also friends with a girl i like who's now the year 14 head girl, but we no longer talk to each other, ever since the end of year 11. I was hoping that because this was the last year i would go out of my way and talk to her for the final time before we leave, and i'm now having a lot of regrets
hey, im in a similar situation to you as i flunked the 2 subjects i took in AS levels and couldnt even resit them in october november. my friends will all be graduating without me and ill be left behind. but in these few days ive had processing these results, ive realised that while my friends are leaving ahead of me, getting their ceremonies ahead of me, all i have left is to work hard so i can be happy at those same ceremonies, to met my graduating friends with grades id be proud of to somewhat relish in the moment with them one last time. retaking grade 11 (year 12) is more of a chance so i can get into those prestigious unis, so i can carry myself with confidence in my grades. i hope you can realise that while it genuinely hurts, and i know just as you do what that pain is and how it feels, disappointing my parents and making them cry and lash out, its also a chance for us to do better so we dont suffer like that again. and dont make our family suffer like that again. youre not alone in your experience, and im sure we'll all do great as long as we work hard. im wishing you all the best with everything, i believe in you, and i believe in us, and everyone who may read this
So so glad I've stumbled upon this as I was just receiveing my Alevel results.. Got me on my very rock bottom at the moment but after watching this, It really does change my whole perspective & mindset. Thank you

Hiii bro, I cried watching your videos about resit. It felt like being hugged. I gave my A2 level this year. I did olevels and As really well, it was predicted.tho, seeing my hard works and results of olevels and As level I guess I got this over confidence in myself or something idk ....all I know that I didn't take a2 seriously and I'm sure now, after giving all the exams that I will fail in many subjects. I will have to resit whole alevels and I don't care, if I have the opportunity to improve my grades. I will do it! Can you kindly make a video with all the university that takes resit students plsssss!
