My name is Aldrich! I’m a final year engineering student at the University of Sheffield.
The journey was not as happy as it seems. I failed Year 12 and I retook my A-levels. I was never that naturally smart kid, or one of those people who had insane levels of motivation. I was never in Set 1 in Secondary School either but here I am, I’ve created a channel where you can expect videos on uni lifestyle, productivity, and self-improvement!
I’m going to finish Uni this year but, before I go, I want to be transparent with you and share how I overcame my monsters, the tragedies of adulting, and share with you my story so far in my quest to live a happy life. I want to have this minor area of the internet where I can just be my confident and authentic self, and bring value to people who watch my videos!
Hopefully, it’s relatable, you can laugh along with me and it widens your perspective of life!
I upload every Monday, so be sure you’re subscribed to stay on top of my adventures!

hi dk if u will see this but can i still get an A if i only have 110 days and got a 40 percent is as mid term
I just failed all my AS exams, and i want to cry. i got U and 4 Es, and i dont know what to do because i want to retake my exams, but i can't pay that exam fee again .
Currently in year 12 and I got an e in my last report card 😭 hopefully I can get an a or a* by the end of year 12
Did all the work in class and nothing more. 4 A levels - all A*
I had a really rough time in Year 12. It honestly sucked for me because I had a personal upheaval. So I didn't revise. I got CDE in my AS levels. C (Geography) D (Biology) E (Chemistry) Over summer break I had some time to think, and I decided that I was going to drop Chemistry A-Level and continue with Biology and Geography A-Level. I didn't resit. I'm in Year 13 now, and I'm predicted A in Geography and B in Biology! I'll be doing Psychology A-Level Intensive next year (hopefully) and I want to do Zoology at university.
I'm a year 12 who's going into engineering and just bought an ipad. Your video really helped me know what to expect and how i should be studying next year to do well!! Thanks for the help 🤩🙌
got the answer in 7 sec thanks
Pair it with a paper like screen protector. Just the perfect combination🫶

I fumbled bad there haha
You made a giant mistake with the tablet categories: Windows, iPadOS AND ANDROID! So, there are 3 types of OS to choose from!
dumbest timetabling of a sixth form i've seen thus far
I can feel you man.
15:25 if anyone is trying to find example2.
Such helpful video. Gave me some confidence towards my coming year2. Hope I am able to keep up and exchange a PERFECT summer using my hard work in university.
🐐🐐🐐
This is the video I needed. I’m going to be starting my A level maths course soon. Im 34 so it’s been a while since GCSE maths. Does anyone have anymore tips for someone who has been out of education for a while? Would be much appreciated.
I'm going into AS level next week and I'm pretty scared. I hope I'll do well. However I hate mathematics and I'm bad at it... I did IGCSE this may/june and I did mathematics on high B. But I don't believe in myself when it comes to mathematics
Wow this is amazing…you make my mind blow… thank you for helping me 😊
Got my AS results this year and wasn't enough to continue year 14 (I am from Northern Ireland, equivalent to year 13) due to my lack of self-discipline and was advised to repeat all three of my subjects. What makes me feel down is the fact that my friends will be moving on without me and I know at some point i have to accept it, but it's the fact that i would be missing the signing my tshirt during leaver's day, missing the year 14 graduation speech with my year group. Graduating with people 1-2 years younger than me just doesn't feel right, especially if i have only spent two years with them. I was also friends with a girl i like who's now the year 14 head girl, but we no longer talk to each other, ever since the end of year 11. I was hoping that because this was the last year i would go out of my way and talk to her for the final time before we leave, and i'm now having a lot of regrets
hey, im in a similar situation to you as i flunked the 2 subjects i took in AS levels and couldnt even resit them in october november. my friends will all be graduating without me and ill be left behind. but in these few days ive had processing these results, ive realised that while my friends are leaving ahead of me, getting their ceremonies ahead of me, all i have left is to work hard so i can be happy at those same ceremonies, to met my graduating friends with grades id be proud of to somewhat relish in the moment with them one last time. retaking grade 11 (year 12) is more of a chance so i can get into those prestigious unis, so i can carry myself with confidence in my grades. i hope you can realise that while it genuinely hurts, and i know just as you do what that pain is and how it feels, disappointing my parents and making them cry and lash out, its also a chance for us to do better so we dont suffer like that again. and dont make our family suffer like that again. youre not alone in your experience, and im sure we'll all do great as long as we work hard. im wishing you all the best with everything, i believe in you, and i believe in us, and everyone who may read this
As a GCSE student thank you very much for the videos for giving me how a level maths would look like 🎊
please someone tell me how to get predictd grade while teaching urself in year 14
How did you socially support yourself through a gap year? I'm about to start a resit year after achieving BBC in Maths, Physics and FM. My school has been completely abysmal and I've gone from having paedophile teachers being arrested in class to being taught by former students who are still at university. Anyway, I'm confident and already starting to turn my life around. But with all your friends going off to university, how did you keep up your support network? Did you make friends with the lower year or did you keep in contact with old friends online? I've had solid friends for 3 years but after word got around about me failing my A-levels, I haven't had a single message of support so I'm not sure who I should make friends with or whether people do keep in regular enough contact online to feel sociable.
I WISH I SAW THIS VIDEO A YEAR AGO. THIS WOULD'VE BEEN A GODSEND WHEN I WAS STARTING YEAR 12!!
so glad that I stumbled upon this because I just got my AS level results, 2Us, E and D, it really sucks but I'm going to do my best to pick myself up
I messed up my AS results too 😭😭 DUE
got CEE for AS, and was advised to repeat the year this year. Really nervous though, hope everyone that is going through the same things the best of luck
@@Serendipia3496oh my God, 😭we're in this together
@@vhxted3732I wish you lots of luck, you've got this, I'm going to repeat as well and just try my best to push through this
its nice to hear that you can take exams on tablet. When I used iPad 2 way back for home work, professors want us to print out the PDF questions, But I wrote on Notability then print out. Most professors was very confused and had to question their decision for minutes before accepting my hand in.
Isnt this method time consuming?
Helpful. So in summary, would that be: 1.Make sure to have a study plan to make sure that tasks such as coursework or perhaps completing homework is completed in normal days. Not cramming at last minute. 2. Make good use of mock questions or past paper. Be sure to understand what you did not get correct in the first trial. 3. Think that everyone else is experiencing the same and retain a healthy and positive mindset. But not being complacent. 4. Make sure to still care about yourself. If grades are "damaged", it is not that horrible. However if you got "damaged", then it becomes serious.
I am a engineering student i used a android phone If i buy an ipad is their will any problems of data sharing? It will be 1st apple products but i am confused which should i get My preference are 1. Note taking 2.PDF reading 3.Multimeadia consumption 4.Gaming (A little bit not hard core gamers) 5. Watching netflix I have already using the xioami pad 6 it has 144hz refresh rate screen if I am switching to an iPad which has 60hz display is their any type of problem of laggy or slow should my eye's will considering? Lastly which iPad should I buy that will last for my 4 years of engineering?
Did you end up getting an iPad?
What do you study bro? And where (as broad or narrow as you wish)? Cuz those control subjects are fire 🔥
I messed up my whole year of yr12, for my EOY i got a DEU and i just proceed to go into yr13, My school didn’t have any options on retaking yr12 even if it means flopping them, either we drop out of school and go to other institutions or go into yr13 with bad grades. Then first exam of yr13 i flunk my exam again my teachers are now losing hope on me, they even encouraged me to just dropout (which I even considered) but I can’t bcuz I feel bad for my parents, now my mock exam is in a couple of days i HOPE I can at least do decently on my maths and Bio, but for my chemistry i just know i will still flunk in that class. PRAY FOR ME EVERYONE😓🙏🏻
Hi , same I messed up year 12 and I am actually retaking the year, I want to do dentistry and although there are dental schools that do accept retakes I feel like an absolute failure and I feel like my life is over.

Yo, thank you for giving me a reality check. Maybe I've been so obsessed with getting an iPad because I thought it would fix my awful study habits, but no. If I got an iPad right now, I would not make the most out of it because I would keep procrastinating as usual. What I'll do is improve my study habits, then once I prove I can consistently do that for a long time, then _maybe_ I'll buy an iPad or something similar as a reward.
I am 22 and still in high school,(A levels) any advice for me ? : (
