@@MowerMan I have checked my mower today and the only thing that looked wrong was the air filter sponge seemed to be damp, didn't smell like petrol so not sure if that is normal or not. I also cross threaded the cover bolt nearest to the cutout switch cover so now it won't tighten up properly, I hope this won't lead to more problems.
the reason why it revs up and down a little is because you don't have the air filter screw in.. with out the screw you have a nice size air leak into the gas tank. The pulsa prime carb and tank. you must always run it with the screw in even with the filter is off.
If you’re gonna run a pulsa prime with no air filter, put the screw back in hole. But it will run better with the filter. I oil up the deck and paint the tins
Have Q about the governor springs. Why is it two on the same spot on the lefte side and different on the right side placed? Is it for the as yo said the rev/idle speed?

I have a lawnmower which has a classic 35 briggs and stratton engine and ive downloaded the parts listing for the engine from briggs and stratton. What is the difference between a compliance engine or a non complaince engine. I need a new housing blower and i dont know what one is suitable. Many thanks and brill vids.
Great video, again. So the socket was 15/16, am I right in thinking as american made engine briggs need imperial tools and fastenings? I remember my da saying something about it. Do you ever check new plugs and find you need to regap them? Have you any videos on a engine rebuild like replacing the piston, like the chainsaw crowd might do
I have the exact same engine. It would start and run for a minute and then die. Now I have cleaned the carburator. Installed new diaphram and air filter. Now it won't even start. The button does not seem to pump fuel anymore. I disassembled it again and tried the pump while the long thing was stuck in a glass of water. No effect. What could have gone wrong?
You need to keep it running for a bit with Ether until the carb fills with fuel. Many many pumps of the Primer bulb. You will know when it is getting fuel.

hey, im only 15 but im interesting in mechanical jobs afterall but i have almost 0 experience on any engines whatsoever, what would you think, i have a troublesome lawn mower that works eh-like, would you think servicing the engine would be good experience for mechanic job, sorry im not 100% good on english, not a native speaker :-)

The briggs classic has got to be the best lawn mower made easy to service and starts good ,runs good . I have one from 1971 and run like new .

Good old classic 35 engine. Easy to work on nice and reliable. I hate the rv150 engines always run uneven. 😞

You need to have the Air Cleaner bolt in to correct the mixture.

Left Handel bar wing knob fell off. It's midway. Part fell on the grass. Cheers!

I have the same mower as this but when I start it-revs up and down when running do you think it could be the governor springs

that oil pump is it any different from the pela you had

Trouble with putting oil or wd40. when cutting the grass, the grass will stick to it lol
