Im so inlove with this monofin. huge wide fluke . I love the easy foot pockets and i can fold them when im going to take them for travels. I just wish they will come up with other designs as well.
I love my Mahina- I got impatient and ordered a green one off Amazon. I wanted Black, but everyone was sold out at the time. I bought a can of black Plastic Paint and made it black. A bit is starting to chip off the edges, so I'll have to touch those up. I bought (on sale), the Ecotail from Mertailor, cut the bottom open, I wear leggings under the tail cover. It gives me warmth. Water is cold here in S. CA. The Ecotail looks great over the Mahina. I was planning on adding some elastic loops at bottom- haven't yet. I wore it to every pool this summer during our 10 day road trip. It was so fun bc I can't find many pools I would swim in here in San Diego. Which sounds very weird. I have to find out if the Coronado pool lets people 'mermaid'there...

are you gonna modify it like some people do. Never been a fan of the curled tips on mermaid fins. my personal opinion is that a fish wouldnt have drastically curled fin tips. it jus dosent look right. some people who buy this fin cut the tips to look more like a fish. thers even a guide picture with design suggestions somwhere on mernetwork i think.

I tried my Mahina for the first time a few days ago. It really does feel different from my other monofin. To me it feels more natural to use than my Finis Rapid. There is just something more smooth about this fin. I also really love how it doesn't have an ankle bulge. I think it will look nice in a tail - once I make a skin for it. I put it in the skin I made for my Rapid and it looks really silly in that because the tips poke out so I decided not to even bother wearing it like that haha. I guess this gives me a good excuse to make a new tailskin. I see you didn't wear any socks. Did your feet get rubbed at all? When I was done I was like, "Man, my feet feel fine I am so happy this fin didn't rub my heels." Then when I went into the locker room and went to put on my socks and shoes I realized that I had almost an inch long scrape right under my ankle bone. I guess I didn't realize it was rubbing me there. Sooo unfortunately I am one of those people who needs to wear socks with this fin.
MinxFox yea I have 2 scars identical on each foot because I didn’t realize I needed the socks until it was to late, but now I’ve out grown it and hopefully getting another one here soon and taking care of the fin and my feet properly

are those fins a help when you swim? like regular fins? for example the speed..are you faster? do you feel anything uncomfortable?
+Pamela Chiarappa they do make me swim quite fast! There is a bit of rubbing so I'd recommend wearing socks with the fin.
