    KNS precision makes a lower plastic delete that accepts standard ar grips and allows for use of other magazines. They also make an adjustable gas piston for them

      The only thing that pissed me off was that the Gunsmithing didn’t give you 5.56 mags, because the Galil ACE also comes in that caliber.

    Hey man, as a Galil Ace owner who's done his research over the years the Galil Ace has a 'break in' period of several hundred rounds. The receiver and the BCG 'mate' during this period and accuracy really tightens up. Just FYI.

  • @joshuaschroeder5365
    @joshuaschroeder5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    I have the 5.56 variant they are available in the US. Also your malfunctions are due to over gassing. Put a KNS precision adjustable piston and you wont have any more problems suppressed. But I do agree they could have easily put an adjustable gas block standard but it is what it is

    • @Shieldsz
      @Shieldsz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Overgassed even unsuppressed?

    • @joshuaschroeder5365
      @joshuaschroeder5365 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1911Shields yes I saw that, to that I would look at the munition being used. I personally have never had any issues with my 556 Galil and often times like an AK style platform it’s spitting those cartridges into the next post code. I can’t explain the issue unsuppressed but I can tell you that it was overgassed like many long stroke platforms to err on the side of reliability. So to gain control of that you need to either put on some adjustable gas block or an adjustable gas piston like the KNS precision one mentioned. However I have heard that KNS doesn’t plan to accommodate the .308 versions of the Galil Ace with a piston for it. So I’ve read on platforms of people taking up the idea of machining their own adjustable gas block.

      @Brotherhood and Unity To clarify to my upmost ability. Yes. AKs are usually overgassed to begin with. Once a suppressor is added to the equation, the AK will have even more pressure thus causing malfunctions. A KNS adjustable gas piston helps sometimes.

    No rubber mallet needed to install the dust cover. Do not put it back together like other AK’s. Spring rod needs to be installed and left dropped inside from it’s final position then install dust cover and then when you rack it the spring will lock in to position.

    Mine is my most accurate AK. The left side charging handle is great. It is still heavy, but I aint a girly man. Tapcos do not work in any of my my AKs reliably. I modified my gas system because it was over gassed. The tight fit will fix itself, not a problem. I put on a rubber butt pad on mine. I cant get a original Galil, this is a good gun. ONLY issue is I cant put a bayonet on it. I have not had any failure to feed yet. I use metal mags and Wolf poly ammo.

    That is exactly how I classify the ACE also. The apex of the AK imho. Great, Great gun, Robinson Armament XCR-l and M for 5.56,300blk,6.5 Gren,6.5 Creedmoor, 308. and just about anything else in intermediate to battle rifle rounds but if you want to shoot 7.62x39 the Galil Ace is the Ak's final form and taking AK mags is the clincher. Plus it is BAE in Warzone.

    Good Vid. 700+ rounds(un-suppressed) and I have not had but one FTF. As far as FTE this things spits casings about 20 yds. I garner all the problems were due to the suppressor. I absolutely love this rifle. Little heavy but I shed about a pound'ish off with an after market front hand guard. I was surprised how much the stock HG weighed. The "weight" though it's not really heavy helps to tame any recoil effect for sure.

    The dust cover isn't that hard to get back on. I've found that if you seat the dust cover in place, hear it snap and then "karate chop" it with side of your hand, it snaps right back into place. You don't need to hit it very hard, just a swift firm chop.

    5.56 is available. Don’t know if this is significant but, my new ACE (2020) has a differently milled bolt carrier than my older (2018)
    ACE pistol. So far it’s been totally reliable. IWI tells me it’s to reduce mass which is possible, but not probable IMO. I think it’s more of a tooling or labor savings. Also, the myth that the ACE is not a good optic platform is pure BS. My new one was awesome with the Trijicon Accupower 1-8x28 sitting on it. A bit heavy for some though.

    The Colt M4 that I was issued when going overseas to Iraq (14"barrel) we only had to shoot it 300yards so that pathetic pipsqueak ball round vs the IWI ACE in 7.62x39 is a total no brainier. Now if the military would get it's head out of a dark, warm, hole and let us supplement the standard issue with stuff we feel comfortable with (because it is our life on the line not the swivel chair bean counters who actually think they are soldiers) Maybe it wouldn't have been as bad.

      Christopher Rodriguez sorry, gotta raise the BS flag there bro. I’ve owned 7.62x39 ARs by POF, CMMG, & one I built using a top shelf barrel. None of them, including several I’ve borrowed, shot sub MoA with crap (subjective of course) ammo. Hey, if you like your AR then fine, I like my 5.56 M4 too. But those ACE rifles & pistols are fine shooters...just not suppressed without adjustable pistons.
