Rick Beato brought me here 2 - 3 years ago due to his appreciation of you, your creativity and knowledge. I'm classically trained, from a musical family, play trombone, a little piano and self-taught, badly executed Ukulele (which delights me to no end - I can play chords in 4 fingers!). I love your creativity, your intelligence, strength as a musician and human. I haven't seen you in awhile, and your name came into my head today, and here I am. I love who you are, your fun "Flowers" video, your explanation of how much work it is for you to create a video (those of us who don't do this for a living have no real idea what it takes for you to build these lovely pieces for us). I loved your John Mayer song ending (that was SO much fun!!) I love your humanity, personal strength and introspective nature. Thank you for your authenticity and such things as this lovely video. Thank you. Thank you for showing up as you. Your contribution and personal considerations such as this, are important and so human. I love your work, who you are, and your contribution to the world. Blessings to you, Mary. All love, wishing you the best and the highest to you. 💖

Found you through Rick Beato. Subscribed because of the awesome content (music, Martin history, music production in the current era which is MUCH different than the era I grew up in). Started as a professional musician in the 1970s (guitar teacher, played in cover, dance bands and toured nationally for 14 months). Ended up in the software industry for 40+ years. Moving into retirement in a few short weeks, I am starting to play more music again and starting to get into home recording.

I'd discovered your channel after watching the Sultans of Swing cover with Frogleap and Frogleap i'd discovered with the "Psychosocial"-Banjo-Video from Rob Scallon. When I was growing up, it was in the era of albums. The joy of going to the record store, buying an album, bringing it home and listening to song by song by song while looking over the album cover (its details) and the liner notes.
I would hear the songs played on the radio with the introductions by the DJ's. I would sit in front of the stereo and record songs off of the radio with the reel to reel and then the cassette recorders to make my form of "mixed tapes".
I remember my 1st CD in 1980. I was so excited for the new, great sound and dynamic range.
I have been fascinated through your observations of how the industry has changed and what a struggle it is to get your music out there for the fans to hear. I have a huge appreciation for musicians and their skills. I grew up in the time of those musicians doing amazing craft with their instruments. So many. But one for sure I still admire to this day is Mark Knopfler. His skills are amazing. And because of that, I have enjoyed your educational videos of how method of playing. You certainly make it all look so easy.
I cannot remember when I 1st subscribed or which was the 1st video I watched. I do know I was a fan from the get go when I found your stuff. Thank you so much. Much Aloha. I am totally enjoying your CD I received in the mail.

Thank you for sharing this with us! As for your questions: because of my interests, TH-cam would occasionally surmise I might enjoy your videos, and I did... but, then I joined a band (at the age of 50-something) and one of our guitarists (a young sixty-something) recommended your video where you cover Sultans of Swing with Leo. That led me down a rabbit hole of visiting a lot of videos on your channel. Been a subscriber ever since. It's been fun to follow your progress as I, too, have been slowly progressing. Writing original songs, learning to perform them, record them, and release them. It's been quite an adventure.

Hello Mary, it was the Mary and Pete's Jaw Dropping Performance of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" video that pulled me in. I want to say 3-5 years ago, or so, and I continue to enjoy everything you have done. A copy of your “Super. Sexy. Heartbreak.” CD made it across the pond to the Phoenix, Arizona metro area and into my music collection. Keep it up. I wish you much success and look forward to your U.S. tour!

I honestly don't recall exactly how I found your channel but I suspect it had to do with Rick Beato as I think I've followed him longer than anyone else. Your sincerity caught my attention and I found listening to you relaxing, educational and fun. Then I found your Sweat videos and that really sold me.

My first video of yours (three or four years ago?): I think I was searching for content on a Martin OM-28 and you came up. Your varied programme drew me in from there. This is from Orlando, Florida; my first comment. Just to keep it brief: You’ve done great; thank you and best wishes going forward!

You popped up on my feed as I watch a lot of guitar and music related content on TH-cam. I wasn’t sure about you at first but the more videos I watch the more I like what you produce and also your music. You’re a very genuine person Mary and that’s what I respond to. As long as you keep doing what’s important to you in your straight forward honest delivery I’ll keep watching and recommending. Like any viewer, I’ll spot the moment you stop being genuine and I’ll tune out. Best of luck with your channel and music.

The first time ever I saw/heard you was on Norm Harris's TH-cam channel with Angela Petrilli. I was already an ardent fan of Angela's and there was a connectedness between the two of you that was palpable. Both of you were open and there was a feeling of honesty with your music. Thank you for continuing that honesty through your music and chats...it's greatly appreciated. Being past my mid 70's, I find those two things being more important with every passing day. Please continue your videos and your chats...we're listening.

Mary, I first ran into your channel a few years ago when looking at Reina del Cids site. I love the professional way you look at music. Not just someone screaming music on Utube. You really got me when you went to guitar stores and let us see the other side of music. The brick and mortar side to include how people got ahead in the business. You take your time to explain the beginning of the pers, song or business side. I’m 60. Never played a guitar ( I’m starting to learn) and my Utube review of someone or something normally last as few as 15 seconds. You had my attention immediately. It was one of your trips to a guitar store I think it was in NY. Not even once did I want to hit the next button. Will done I’d say. Keep it up. I learn something new about 90% of the time from your videos. Sometimes. (The other 10%) I just like to hear you sing or cover a subject. So thank you for your time. It’s appreciated. 😊

Thanks for putting your heart into what you create on your channel and into your music and sharing it with us. Keep your beautiful creativity moving forward. I came across you back in about 2017 when you were doing your Tuesday Talks and loved what you were creating and that you are so pleasant to listen to. Loved you sharing stories....and experiences, talking gear and allowing for vulnerability in your music. You have beautiful talent and unique playing style. At that time some of the videos I remember were you putting your first pedalboard together, picking your Orange amp, and showing your first guitar you ever got. I was also putting my first pedalboard together and getting other gear at that time and loved hearing your insight on things you were trying. I think originally I just kept coming back to hear what the new Tuesday Talk was going to be about : ) Gonna go back and watch one now for old times sake!

Hi, I started watching your videos sometime during covid. I was 14 at the time, and had recently got my first electric guitar. Since then I have learned a lot and enjoyed watching your videos a lot, and have played many live concerts at my school and improved tremendously on the guitar. I started writing songs this past year as well and enjoy it a lot, hoping to continue to find time to write more as I head off to university in the fall. You have been very inspiring for me, and one of the first guitar players/musician/songwriter whose videos I really started to watch and learn from here on TH-cam for the past years. Thanks!

Greetings from across the pond. The first time I saw you was on your visit to the Anderton's channel. The performance of Fleetwood Mac's dreams left a lasting impression. I then watched you grow as a creator through the Tewsday Tawks videos. Your demeanor and friendly, sometimes fangirl approach made the watch always a pleasant experience. Your musical performances and trip through the universe of You Tube were fun to watch and you were an underdog to root for. So good on you! You've done well and are now a first rate content producer as well as an accomplished singer songwriter. Not to leave out the substantial growth in your musicianship on the guitar. I am rooting for you and anxiously await your first big hit, even if it ends up being recorded by someone else a la The Brothers Landreth.

I think it's reassuring to know that it's ok to feel worried from time to time as we try to find our places in the music industry, so long as we keep moving forward, and hold on to the drive we have for following our passion.

I found you through Rick Beato's channel, and was drawn to your passion and determination to continue on your musical journey. I'm also a father of two daughters in their 20s embarking on their own creative journeys, and the transparent and fact-filled discussions of the realities of running your own small business in a creative field, trying to find the audience who will connect with your work has relevance to what they want to do. The self-employed economy is challenging but rewarding, whether in music like you, or fashion design and video production like them. I've passed on many of your insights to them.
I also really enjoy your guitar history videos, as well as your commentary on the modern music industry. (Your video on disappearing live venues was sad and eye-opening.) And of course, your music. I often find myself bobbing my head to your songs, and thinking about your lyrics. Stay strong. Keep following your heart. It's a pleasure to follow your journey!

Well said Mary, keep up the great work!!! I loved hearing your new song, "6 Years". I've been following you from around 2019, so almost 6 years!! I think I found you from collabs with either Josh Turner or Elle Cordova. During pandemic, I started playing guitar again, enjoying your songs Blues Duet and Primrose. I came back to playing piano last year when my IT job was eliminated and starting January 2024, I started training to be a piano technician. You continue to inspire me to live a consistently musical life (learned this phrase from Adam Maness, Open Studio/You'll Hear It Podcast) and to "Just Live Music" as Mono Neon states in his artist manifesto. It makes me smile every time I see a new post from you knowing I'll get something from each video. Much love from the USA, One of your 1000 true fans and Patreon from May 2020, Michael
