I was arguing with some Trumper on FB about Colin Kaepernick and he and some of his followers were talking about how the blacks didn't have it as bad as the jews and so the blacks should be thankful and the guy who blocked me actually says, referring to the jews, "and they didn't even have the privilege of being slaves!". Like wooooooooowww......i wish i had screencapped that before i got blocked. I called him out on it like, "did you just call slavery a privilege??" and he starts on this, "Oh look at you! Reading into it what you want to read into it!" or something like, "how dare you call me racist in the middle of this racist tirade". I couldn't. He blocked me after that, but like wow.....
You know, reading Brexit news I have seen the depth of ignorance some British people have about their colonial imperialism and how it affected other countries. I feel like IN THIS SPECIFIC CONTEXT that should minimize my white privilege a bit since my country/nationality have been a major target of shocking historically ignorant condescending attitudes in recent years. Evidently not enough; I am awestruck by the existence of the movie they've described.

then the bit about the ending there, where you say the black girlfriend addresses the problems and gets it turned on her, reminds me of the only Golden Girls episode i hate, Fiddler on the Ropes, where a Cuban guy plays into all the "latino" and "boxer" stereotypes and then the girls find out he's actually a brilliant violinist who knows perfect English and only acted the stereotype cuz that's what people expect and he scolds them with this big speech, but i'm sitting there like....he didn't offer them an alternative? He just showed up playing the hackneyed part of the stereotypical Cuban boxer and they're the ones with the problem for taking him at face value? Like, what were they supposed to do? "Oh hey, latin guy we've never seen before. You should speak English and get smart and be able to play a musical instrument!" Wouldn't that be worse, like those old people you hear about in news stories or see clips of, yelling at foreigners for speaking their native language instead of Amurrican? Yeah, Sophia teases him a couple times, but the other girls never treated him as a lesser person, and yet he still feels he's earned the right to give this self-righteous speech about the state of things today? that's bad writing....if you want someone to have this moment, they have to EARN the moment.
I haven't seen the movie and don't plan to because nothing about it is appealing to me but I just wanted to comment cuz I needed to tell Michelle that I LOVE YOUR SHE-RA SHIRT!!!
Edit: Pay no attention to this man from 35 minutes ago. He knows not of what he speaks. I've only watched the first 7 minutes of this video, but as it sounds, it seems to be a REALLY BADLY MADE reverse on BlacKKKlansman (which I have not seen, so I may be wrong on some elements).
I guess the movie must be an Avantgarde masterpiece. No fun can be found inside this comedy, instead the joke is simply the existence of the film itself.
You know, maybe you're just not doing a great job explaining it, but the premise as you described it doesn't sound offensive or racist at all. Sounds like a badly made movie with offensive racist jokes, but the premise as you've laid it out sounds like a variation of Mrs. Doubfire or Sorry to Bother You.
