New green paint and a reopened green bridge bikeway | World Bicycle Day | Local Updates June 2023

On this beautiful World Bicycle Day, just a quick video showing a few little improvements on the Brisbane bikeway network.
1. The Bicentennial Bikeway surface has been improved. A major bump near the old not-so-floating restaurant was smoothed out, and the paint surface has been redone.
2. The bike and pedestrian counter on the Bicentennial Bikeway is finally working again. It's been off for about a year.
3. The Cycleway on the Eleanor Schonell Bridge has finally reopened. It was closed for the Brisbane Metro project construction at St Lucia, and was meant to be just for a couple of months in 2022 - it ran 9 months overtime. Very glad it's back open!
Sorry it's been a while between non-shorts videos. Lots of reasons, but none more so than the passing of my brother Tim. He put up a valiant fight against brain cancer, but passed away in April. He was an inspiration to me, and I miss him terribly.
If you want to honour his memory, a donation to the Peace of Mind Foundation, who provide support to brain cancer patients and their families, that would be truly appreciated.

Thanks Chris. You’re on to it !! I only rode past the Eleanor Schonell yesterday and it looked closed. Great to see it re-opened , will test out tomorrow. Thanks for the update.

That repainted section of the Bicentennial was in desperate need of repainting since _long_ before the floods.
wtf was that at 0:53?
The new ramp to the bridge is a massive improvement over what it used to be. But the inclusion of a "stop" sign really shows the lack of knowledge of cycling from whoever was in charge of the project. 🤦‍♂

Stop sign isn't enforceable anyway. But yeah, another symptom of car culture
