    The racing is my favorite way to use it. Like you I was bored just free riding and checking out the different routes. The racing is really exciting for me. If I’m not doing a race, the I am on there warming up for a race. Oh, unless I am going for an Alpe PR, which is basically a iTT race.

    Being new to the indoor world this vid really helps me ...
    Just need to settle my trainers issues I am currently having then surely I will be signing on zwift. Currently I am using RGT which offers alot for my current needs. Just wish they had the controllable select option and the power source options go choose from like zwift. A very informative vid indeed ... thanx

    Their version of New York City looks like something out of Epcot, with a little Star Trek thrown in for good measure. Not the City I used to live in!

    Hi, thanks for sharing the training tips. I’m interested in getting a kickr to start my indoor training. However, I have a space constraint at home. I will require to set up and keep the trainer when not in use. Do you foresee an issue with the calibration of the trainer? More importantly, any suggestions to sustain this effort of setting up and keeping the trainer. Thanks in advance.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The latest kickr has auto calibration so it should be fine. I am constantly moving mine and never had an issue.

    Had a question. I tried a group ride after selecting a route in Watopia. I chose a c ride to start out. It said lets go and off I went. Seemed ok to pace stats for c. Then on my companion app it said Join Event. I was confused as I was already riding in the group. So I clicked on that and ended up in a race training event, where the kw were running 3.6-4.2 just to keep up. I wasn't at that level for an extended workout so I had to quit. Frustrating. What happened?? Any ideas.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is you somehow signed up for two events and that’s why you saw the second join event message.

    hey there SBT, i just got a Saris H2, and i'm trying to figure out zwift.
    is there a way to turn off environmental simulated resistance, and just go by manual resistance, and adjust intensity from keyboard? I'm on iMac and android phone, and i don't used wifi. i would rather be able to control manual restistance from the keyboard anyway.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you just need to create a free ride workout. If you go the workout menu and create a new workout, drag and drop the free ride icon and adjust the duration to what you want. Then go and ride. With the Zwift companion app, you can toggle off erg mode button and adjust the resistance. Or just bring up the bottom menu when riding and press on the up or down arrows.

      @NewEnglandDirtRoadie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SmartBikeTrainers thanks for the reply. I will look into that.
      But the only way to manually adjust resistance is through settings in the menu?

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the companion app as well and bike gears to adjust resistance when turning erg mode off.

    Thanks, I was expecting a description of a way to socialize using Zwift. It is not that present in the video. Perhaps what I'm looking for is with external tools (Discord, Zoom, ... ). When I say Zoom I mean a pre/post video event.
    I also thought of a description I could share with my trainer (which uses Training Peak).
    Good video nevertheless.

      I organize a private event once a week during the winter and invite all my local riding companions. Along with that I have a discord channel we all can use during the event. So we get a chance to virtually ride and chat once a week to catch up with each other. Also, riding with people you will be riding with in the summer helps inspire you to train so you don't get dropped as much in the real world.
