I went deep sea fishing off the coast of Rhode Island and we used mono and caught 80 fish blues, stripers, sea bass, poregie, and sea robins and had not one problem. And we were jigging. All of the fish were over 15-25 pounds. We used braid when we stopped and fish for sea bass and porgie.

Nice Daiwa Saltiga reel. Probably as good as it gets for jigging. The only negative I found was initially having to send to Daiwa for service, as they don't sell the ferro-fluid oil for the Magsealing. I solved that problem after the first service.
