    It's amazing to see racers push so hard with these beautiful classics. This some of the best racing I've seen but this is what these cars were made for. The real crime would be for these machines rotting in a museum untouched and un-driven.

      @@jonathanbachman2339 it is not about the price, okay. They are covering a race, and these were fighting for the top spots. It just so happened that they're all Jaguars and Cobras.
      Ferraris certainly weren't inferior. In the right hands, a GTO is as quick as any of these E types and Cobras, sadly the prices meant they mostly land in speculator's hands, not on enthusiasts...

    Shame about that penalty for the 89 Jag - went for a gap that wasn't there though. Was there and this was a great race but my favourite was the Richmond Trophy - the noise those cars made was sensational.

    What happens whens these classic cars get damaged? It's not like you can just go buy new parts, can you?

    • @kevinparker7953
      @kevinparker7953 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CE Digital
      Sourcing parts for a 40 year old classic or any old car is time consuming and usually expensive. In some cases replica parts can be obtained at a reasonable cost but may have to be shipped halfway around the world. Such was the case when I bought a complete stainless steel exhaust system for the '69 E-type Jag in my avatar. Only $900 but I had to ship it from England to Canada. Then again, some of the parts were impossible to find so you rebuild the ones you have and that can be expensive especially for the electrical stuff. Also, if the vehicle has some "collector" status, even things like fasteners can be stupid expensive if you want original stuff.
      I guess the answer to your question is yes, you can buy parts. But how rare and scarce are they and how much do you want to pay? It ain't cheap.
