That's an old guitar joke with SRV, VH, Steve Vai, Randy Rhodes, etc... they would run that joke with revolving guitarist from the 80s and leave out Malmsteen. LOL!

"Stone in Love" among others of their many hits. The scarab beetle (stylized) was their long time album cover image but was replaced from their Frontiers album going forward
@@rattnroll84I think you should reconsider your post. Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lionel Ritchie, Def Leppard, Phil Collins. Journey had a string of hits, but there were far more successful bands.
As an OG Chicano from the Bay Area, it gives me great pleasure to see a young Latina reacting to music that I grew up with. Journey was my very 1st concert (1983). I was 13 and Santana opened up. Journey was huge all throughout the 80’s. Faithfully is probably the most played song in all weddings. Journey has many great songs like “Lights”, “Any way you want it”, “Loving touching squeezing”. Too many to name. I’ve seen many great rock bands (concerts). I listen to more Corridos, R&B & Hip Hop these days. Thank you for bringing me back (memories). Cuídate! 🙏🏽
Journey is one of the all time greatest Rock Bands. They have so many iconic hit songs and know for love ballads. My top favorite When you love a women
Journey is a legendary band, Kings of the Power Ballads. Steve Perry, aka " The Voice" is one of the most incredible voices of all-time, and Neil Schon is an incredible guitarist.
Journey just about created what became known as Stadium Rock. I saw them four times, one of which was Day on the Green in Oakland Coliseum in 1982. This was the first ever concert where the used a projector and several cameramen to film and project the image on huge screens on either side of the stage. It was EPIC!
My dad grew up in Lafayette and their backyard neighbors were the Valorys. He said it was super annoying having to listen to them when they sucked 😂 but they’re still one of his favorite bands to this day
Great reaction, Mia. I'm so glad you got Journey. May I suggest "Mother, Father" (Live 1981: Escape Tour-2022 HD Remaster)? You'll get to hear Steve Perry's amazing range and versatility. Thanks again for this reaction, and keep doing what you do.
Journey is a great band. "Don't Stop Believin' " is an ANTHEM. Steve Perry is one of the best rock vocalists ever. One of many great songs about a musician's life on the road, like "Turn the Page". If men sang more love songs like this, the world would be a better place. Have you reacted to Otis Redding singing "Try a Little Tenderness"? SUCH a good love song.
One of the poignant pivotal songs in my life. I went away to the military, and after 'Basic', I went to Technical Training school. Since we all now were entrusted in waking ourselves up, I went and got a clock radio (it was the early 1980's). I plug it in, and search for a radio station to wake up by as I set the time. The first song I heard was 'Faithfully' by Journey. As I left my girlfriend of several years in my hometown, it was a special song to hear...the lyrics cut through me. And to cap it off, that same clock radio served me well through all of the first decade of my career...faithfully.
When I went into basic training back in the 80's this was our song. I never came home and she married someone else, and passed away before i could ever see her again. Still reminds me of her.
Journey was HUGE at their height in the late 70s and early 80s. Their genre is generally called arena or stadium rock, and they would absolutely PACK stadiums. At least one concert at the Rose Bowl had an audience of 90,000. While they've declined since then (especially when lead vocalist Steve Perry departed in 1987) you would still often see Journey t-shirts into the 90s. Steve Perry is probably THE greatest male vocalist in rock, and there's a reason he's often called The Voice. Some other well-known Journey songs: Separate Ways Open Arms Wheel in the Sky Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' Any Way You Want It
This is a hold your Bic lighter in the air song. I know I did back in the summer of 1983. Journey has been around since the early seventies. Neal Schon and Greg Rolle left Santana and formed the band. In 1975?, Steve Perry joined them and they took off. Here are a few hits of theirs - Don't Stop Believin', Lights, Anyway You Want It, Stone in Love, Lovin' Touchi' Squeezin', Anytime, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), Who's Cryin' Now, Mother Father, Chain Reaction to name a few.
Before auto-tune, talent was crafted through coaching and hard work to get this level of perfection that critics still were unhappy with back then. Perry was "The Voice" in that era. Seemed every 5th song played on the radio was "Journey" ( I had 2 teenage sisters in the 70's) Most artists today are one and done as the charts are covered daily even by the hour. I was very fortunate to grow up in the era of radio music before video killed the Radio Star and the Juke Box Hero. (Foreigner- Lou Graham) "Must Listen"
Journey one of the Best bands ever seriously!!! Faithfully is truly Awesome song!!! Thank you for choosing this song to react to!!! They also have other songs that are good too like “ Who Crying Now” , and Separate Ways, and etc… but Who Crying Now is definitely a good one but Faithfully and Don’t Stop Believing are like at the top very great songs!!!
