Phenomenal job! Thank you for taking us along. Even when it was clearly a no go you were still trying to work it out in your head like "well maybe if i can get up on this log?"
I haven't watched too many caravan and camping videos mainly because I don't own a van but I was glued to this one, suspense all the way. Can't blame the wife for stressing, you were right, could have been worse, heavy rain. That 🍺 would have tasted sooo good. Awesome video 👌
Hello, everyone. just joined your TH-cam channel, and I like what you guys are doing , My wife and I have a jk Jeep Wrangler, and we are about to head off to Western Australia . This will be our 3 big trip. The last trip was cap York . Hope to see you in Tasmania sometime soon.
Bloody Heck, you are stressing out your poor wife, really brings out the potty mouth, rinse with wine i recon. Great pivot, great video, no one happier than poor doggo. cheers
conqueror certainly did a good job picking your family to test and promote there hybrid i could watch you guys all day ,its a shame they cant make a slide in slide out step that can be removed for when doing these sorts of tracks Just as well you've got a good spotter.😜
Thanks Greg. We actually approached them mate, but thanks for the kind words. We don’t do it for your type of comments, but it really is nice knowing people enjoy it. Thanks again.
What an epic episode guys, loved it and totally felt for you Megan, I know that stress all too well as we seem to find ourselves in unplanned situations but at the end of the day when you survive it undamaged, how good does it feel. Cheers Marg .... and Steve
Great team work, that is the part we like working together. You need as handheld to make it easier to talk to each other when negotiating things on the track.
You did so well getting as far as you did. However, looking at some of those washaways, I reckon it won't be long before that track disappears altogether. 😮 Still, you stayed in some lovely spots. I'll have to check out those campsites myself. 🙂
Great VLOG, thanks. I deleted the step from my 14' off-road hybrid for precisely the problem that you encountered (I'm a lone overlander and often don't have a spotter). I also went to Mickey's @ 285/70/17 with an 8" sidewall which gave me 33s up from 32s @ 275/70/17. What size tyres do you run on the van? That Ark XO 750 is the bee's knees and is also a recovery point in itself. I have the 350Kg centre mount and would employ the Maxtrax Trailer Recovery Skid, which we should all carry for the sand and busted jockey's.

Thanks for your comment. We’ve had a bigger full off road van before, and there is no way I would have taken it down this track! Maybe the video doesn’t do it justice. Well done to you for having a go.
So you were happy to go down a road that had a road closed sign at the beginning of it? And even police tape laying in the grass! When you had decided you could not go any further and were reversing and you first said "we are reversing a fair way" there was a place where you could have separated the trailer from the cruiser to turn each around in turn. The road was 2lanes wide although covered by a tree fern. But wide enough to park the trailer while doing a 10point turn with the cruiser. Then you combo manhandle the trailer with help from the winch to spin the trailer and rehitch. Now I will watch the rest of the video to see what exactly you did! 😊 OK so I was pretty much on the right track. I have done this myself. But the sign DID say "ROAD CLOSED"! lol When I had to turn my little unit around, the tree blocking the road was freshly downed the night before and we were the first along after the storm. But it was a big tree, too big to handle without machinery. Rather like the one you left there. Similar road conditions with not much moisture on the road TBH, but my trailer was only a soft-top camper whereas yours is a far bigger hard-top camper. So mine was a bit lighter but all the principles were the same. It was beautiful country and maybe somewhere I would like to visit on my dirtbike. But yes I probably would not take the trailer. Doing that sort of driving with kids on board is not for the faint-hearted and they are excellent kids for sure. Even the dog was fantastic. And seems like it was VERY cold too. You all did very well. Other than missing THE most important sign for the day, I give you all a 9.5/10! All good! 😊
Yes mate we half missed the sign half Ignored it as we were sure it was like that when we had been on it some months earlier, without the van. Thanks for taking the time to watch, we did enjoy the challenge and all was performed with safety in mind. Happy travels
sorry but did you literally drive past a big sign saying road closed?? at 2:19min mark?? did you have any specific intel stating otherwise? seems like kinda of an engineered situation otherwise???
We had done that track recently without the van and we’re pretty sure the sign was there then, so absolutely not an (engineered) situation. Quite the opposite actually. We were looking for a challenging Track not a closed track 😂
@@SmartTouringSystems all good, you have bigger kahoonas then me for even taking a van like that (great van just the same) up a track like that, id chicken out even if road wasnt closed lol. great effort and good outcome.

Thanks for watching Ian
I love you guys the way your work as a team 💪 🤟
Cheers mate.
Talk about sweaty palms 😂 Oh the suspense. Good job getting out of that one. 👍
Leave the step on, it made the video even better! Really enjoyed it. 👍🏻😀
About time someone put out a video of actually towing one of these style campers off-road. Great work guys
Thanks Shane.
Phenomenal job!
Thank you for taking us along.
Even when it was clearly a no go you were still trying to work it out in your head like "well maybe if i can get up on this log?"
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 👍🏼
You crazy kids! Don’t blame you Meegs. I would have definitely teared up. Impressive though. Great vid.
One to remember 😂
One of your best vids. It’s always great when you can problem solve on the road. Outstanding effort in recovery. 👍👍
Cheers mate.

Awesome video guys good teamwork 👌
Nice relaxing Holiday ... Bali looks good for next year
😂 fair call. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Awesome video, well done
Cheers mate.
A great video, and remember an adventure is defined as "an unusual and exciting or daring experience"; you definitely had an adventure 👍
😂 love the definition, I will use that for sure 👍🏼
first thing I saw was the Road Closed sign and wondered why you took that road, lovely spot though.
Good morning 😊 Epic episode😊 you guys let me enjoy the adventures with you
Greetings & cheers 🍻 From South Africa 🇿🇦

Cracking Ep guys and well done on the Van turn around, But that step hangs down way to low,
Thanks Craig. Yeah you could remove it, but at some point there will be a limiting factor. The video didn’t do it justice really.

Great video mate. We placed an order yesterday. Q: shouldn’t you raise the van to go over these obstacles?
Congratulations. And yes in the heat of the moment we didn’t even think about it 😂
It did say road closed on entering.
Yes it was an oversight. I had driven the track before and was sure there was caution tape then too.
Such a high quality camper and it struggles on a fire trail with the slightest bumps, iv take a 22ft van down harder with less issues
Thanks for your comment. We’ve had a bigger full off road van before, and there is no way I would have taken it down this track! Maybe the video doesn’t do it justice. Well done to you for having a go.
Great thinking to get you out of a very tight situation great team effort love the music track what was it called

Wow what an epic journey poor Megs and the girls didn’t seem worried at all just used to Dad fixing problems I think.

Out of interest could you have used the air suspension to raise the height of the van to help with the step?
Absolutely, we said that to each other at the end of the day 😂
Air bags in the van pump them up 😅
Yep, pretty silly I know. Didn’t think about it untill the end of the day
That was gutsy. But a nice mix of pushing the limits but remaining safe
- not sure what the alternative is but those steps are too low
Yeah the step is the limiting factor but something has to be I spose.
Petrol chain saws are a good thing you would of got through with good chainsaw and wench
Yeah possibly mate. Was a bloody big tree.
Remove that step it's going to be a major problem.
Ah yes, the footage at 2m 15s…Guilty! 😂 PS what are the girls’ names, Willlow and…what? Fern? 😊
Yeah my bad haha.
Maybe pay more attention to the signs 😂
Fair call 😂
Heads up, Adam does not know what he's doing
Thanks for the heads up.
@SmartTouringSystems all in good fun
If ya had a decent chainsaw ya would’ve got through 😂😂😂
😂 don’t pick on my playsaw.
Pretty sure a sign said private property 🤔
Here’s an idea. Don’t go down closed roads - they’re probably closed for a good reason. But I guess that wouldn’t make good videos.
Great idea, thanks for the tip.
@@SmartTouringSystems you’re welcome.🙂
Bob was not your uncle today.
Not a good Offroad trailer
We found it to handle everything well for its size mate.
