    Excellent review! Glad to hear the drivetrain held up to the 3s power. That Vorteks has had my attention since the beginning. You’re making me want one. 😅

      @LVC RC It's a great truck especially if you looking for an alternative to the 4x4 Rustler. Going to run it as a pavement basher. Got some hop-ups coming😊

    Nice review 👍 Bummer to see all the prices creeping up $400 now. Arrma used to be the best value, now they are just like everyone else

      @Great Lakes RC So true, I missed that. Getting a quality brand RC for a wallet on a budget. Has me slowing down on basher purchases.

    I agree with you. I love my vortex. On grass it struggles but after you change the tires it’s a all out monster. Onroad is a ton of fun too stock out the box. 👊🏾💯💪🏾🔥

    Put some proline badland 2.8's on mine. They raised the ride height a little, are significantly lighter and have much more traction. Also went with a smaller pinion. It's a totally different animal off road now.

      Different animal off road as in using it on grass ?, Looking at getting a vortek or senton an will be mainly used on grass, not sure which would be more suitable

    • @fiatfixie4344
      @fiatfixie4344 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonathannewman9558 For me it was the gravel and sand performance. Original tires are terrible there. I don't drive it on grass much but I recall the traction not being great with the original tires. New wheels and tires are pretty hefty investment right off the bat. The price of a good Lipo battery! Knowing what I know now I might have gone with the Typhon or the Big Rock for the better stability on bumpy terrain. They're both built on an identical chassis's and suspension. The Vorteks is a blast on more even terrain though.

    • @jonathannewman9558
      @jonathannewman9558 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fiatfixie4344 appreciate the reply 👍. I currently have the typhon but looking for something I can customize abit more ie body shells etc an bash a bit more hence the senton or vortek. I don't mind saving for a decent set of tires tbh. Does make me wonder is it worth getting the senton that is cheaper an use the savings compared to the price of the vortek to upgrade the senton. 🤔

    • @fiatfixie4344
      @fiatfixie4344 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonathannewman9558 I hear that. The tires weren't cheap, but wow did they wake the thing up. I've gone back to the stock pinion with those taller lighter tires. The electronics handle it fine and definitely flies. I confess other than adding 5 mil spacers on the front shocks I've invested no effort in suspension tuning. I know I'm not getting the most out of it. The stock color graphics on the Vorteks is not my thing but I think that body design and stance is about as bad ass as it gets. Can't wait to see what it will look like with cleaner paint scheme. Either way it sounds like you have a fun project ahead of you) Cheers man.

  • @240brah

    I dig the styling of the vortex but it reminds me of a rustler 4x4, cool little bashers but nothing that makes them exciting enough to spend $400

    • @paulclancy2404
      @paulclancy2404 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea they were a steel at 300 , amazing how only 100 changes the perspective, they do give you the better remote but dosen't have avc , also they could've gave us the 130 amp esc capable of 4s , there cost we talking 10 bucks

    • @240brah
      @240brah 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulclancy2404 It not really the price point that completely kills it for me, it’s more of the type of truck it is and what I’d have to change just for me to enjoy it, if that makes sense.
      On a side note if I was going to go out and spend $300-$400 on a 3s truck right now I’d probably get that AE mt10 rival.

      @Tyler R Stadium trucks are always a hard swallow. Not a buggy and not a truggy. Strange enough the gen1 Vorteks and this one are the only ones I ever bought. That AE MT10 Rival is a solid truck.

      @@240brah I briefly owned the Rival MT when it was the Helion but never ran it. I love the Kaiju though and the Rival seems to be a scaled down Kaiju.... Although, as much as I love the Granite and it is often considered the King of 10 scale monster trucks I finally got the Redcat MT10e and it is AMAZING. Brutally tough and I brutalized it for over a month and a half before I broke the servo saver. It's the only thing that I broke! You really need to consider the Redcat MT 10e.

      @Paul Clancy Like where you are going with that😊 Kaiju maybe a little more truck especially if we are talking as a park basher. But the Vorteks does have a ton of part support going for it.

      Didn't he just use slipper from another truck he had already put steel spur , so made hard to pinpoint the if metal spur or fact he used older slipper . I have two of the 3s lineup already and bought clutch assy and had a problem with it so I still need two clutches and electronics, making it cheaper to just buy new one , my granite was one best rtr rcs I've owned I used that thing 7 days a week for over a year lol 😆

      @Dale Pearce 😂😂Nike hasn't done anything in years which is why they keep releasing classic sneakers. Not sure if you are new to the channel but I haven't seen you comment before but I've done that format and it doesn't work for people who have never been on the channel or seen the prior videos.
