- In this episode I do something a little bit different and show you a Fishing Chart Upgrade!
I recently purchased Garmin Navionics Bluechart G3 Vision chip. I show you the before and after you plug in the chip. I also talk about the ledges and what the chip contains. This chip is a Game Changer as this chip contains features that Garmin does not include with your original machine purchased and like any other chip this is an upgrade to your current Home Screen.

Having had the privilege of going on a charter with Adria all I can say is If you get a chance to go fishing with her you Definitely won't regret it.
We had incredibly fun fillrd day one laugh after another and also 1 fish after another can't say enough about her knowledge and her energy to get us fish and her determination to make sure that we had a positive Experience would definitely recommend her to everyone.

Thanks for reviewing. I was thinking of purchasing it, but it seems that that Navionics version for Simrad seems to provide more detail maps of the bottom. I was hoping the Garmin version would do the same, but I see now that it does not. At least in deeper water and offshore.

Thanks for watching not sure that simrad is navionics but I want to say it’s CMOR maps. Try that first before purchasing Navionics I also heard the navionics + and even the subscription is better look into that as well 🤙🏻 good luck!
THanks for this review Adria. I'm contemplating buying this also for SWFL. Your comments about minimal relief shading once offshore were my concern before watching your video. It looks like you did this a year ago. Can you comment on what your offshore experience has been since then? I'm trying to find hard bottom 40+ miles out of Fort Myers
Hi and thanks for watching! So the GOM is really not as defined like the Keys are. We don’t have much contour here, with the chip yes you can find some little ledges here and there and some holes and drop offs but not much until you get 80+miles . The chip is helpful at finding new spots depending on the area. For example if you scan Pulley Ridge because it’s a huge drop off you can see a lot more but anything nearshore until you get way out is going to look like my video. What I do like about it is I can also see the chip on my active Captain app so I can scan areas I want to scout before getting on the boat. I think the chip can be helpful in finding new areas so I would recommend it. It also gives you a lot more contour lines on your machine which can help guide you to certain ledges you won’t be able to see on relief shading. Let me know if you need any additional help. Hi Adria. Question, when you opt combo on your screen are you able to see your g3 on that mode?
Unfortunately you cannot see Relief Shading or the other options the G3 contains in Combo mode or regular Chart. One negative about this specific chip is you have to go back and forth between Chart and Relief Shading to access the contour. GOOD LUCK!
Dude! I figured out how to see your relief shading in combo mode. I didn’t think it was possible until today. You have to create your own combo! I will be making another vid here soon showing how to. Your welcome ! 🤙🏻🎣
@@AnglingwithAdria lol I figured it out right after asking you about it. Correct, on your custom screen. I had before simrad and used cmor maps. It auto lays it for you on any mode.
Thanks for the video! I just received my g3 vision card and use the 94sv uhd as well, mine doesn't show the contour lines or depth when using relief shading. Did you have to set that up to do it?
nope its all in the chip. under charts you will find the relief shading. The contour lines and depth should show up automatically. if it doesn't try going under setting and in the section of manage data you can see your chip and there should be some options in there to download onto your machine. GOODLUCK!

Hello, Thanks for watching! I'm sorry but I do not know if It covers the Africa area, that is something you will need to call Garmin about. You will probably need to call them directly to buy the chip as well. Hope this helps some what. Good Luck!

It depends on the area. I have used in the Florida Keys all the way 2000ft. You have to select the area you want for it to give you the relief shading
Is the G3 Vision bluechart more detailed with Navionic Vision+
Honestly I have no idea. I haven’t done any subscriptions but it might.
I have bought a Bluechart G3 Vision in 2021 with a Garmin 923xsv but I have never used it, are there any changes to the latest version in the appearance of my Bluechart G3 Vision later when I turn it on,
I am really not sure. I haven’t paid for the subscription for it I really don’t think it’s worth it for here in the Gulf of Mexico too much… only to a certain depth yes.
What is the Garmin sonar model that you use there??
It’s a GT54 on my echomap 94sv
I have the same echomap as yours and iv just put the g3 card in but it’s not giving me the relief shading option is there some update I need to do or copy to my u it?
Sorry for the late response. You have to go into charts to see the relief shading if it is not displaying it’s because the chip has not been loaded on to your Garmin. Let me know if it worked for you
could you send me a screen shot of some areas off of clearwater Florida? Trying to make my mind up if this would work for me.

You need to save your chart to a better faster sd card to help,it load faster
