Classic Loki definitely won me over. He was literally our Loki if he survived Thanos, made me love him even more
Yeah like if he's the "real" loki
He'll be back in the sixth episode-(nvm imdb changed it)
@@_-.G.-_ how dude

That's what everyone was theorizing in infinity war
That Loki faked his death again and hid away
But unfortunately that's not our Loki
He died brutally at the hands of Thanos
@@The_Mad_Titan_007 but may be there will be a chance of faking the death of our loki in infinity war
I think the hardest part about all of that is how perfect is the Asgard's recreation by Classic Loki. He spent so much time alone, recreating his memories and thinking about Asgard, that he ended up knowing exactly how would look like a giant illusion of his home world.
Its poignant because he knows when he does that that he's going to die, so he chooses to see his home one last time.
@@SassyCassie89 I didn't come here to cry but now you've started me off
@@dragonknightadam No shame in that my friend, its a really good scene and character.
That scene was such great visual storytelling that even zack snyder would say "My man!" lol
Not just that. Loki has really long life span, probably rival Asgardians. So for him to get that old, it must have been at least thousands more years after ...
And he still remembers all the details of Asgard.
The Loki soundtrack just keeps getting better and better

@@alenor210 Aren't Lokis petty dickheads too lmao? After previous episode, I can't get the thought out of my mind that MCU Mysterio is a Loki variant too (I know it's ridiculous no need to rub it in my face)
@@Popcorn31416 No if he was a Loki he wouldn't need drones and would actually have powers
In case you haven’t figured out why Classic Loki’s final scenes was chilling, it’s because it is pump-filled with defiance. Loki’s glorious purpose and cruel fate is to pave the way for others to be great at his own expense. Classic Loki, however, fulfilled his role not just for anyone one else, but for another Loki. His final terrifying laugh.
Deep
It makes even more sense when you pay attention and see that Loki's show only served to pave the way for the multiverse.
Yes he was my fave character in the show. Fight me if I'm wrong.
I think he finally saw through the lies of the TVA that were holding him back and realized that he can make his own fate
And the fact that it's RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES Made it even more powerful
Classic Loki staring death in the face, his last glimpse of Asgard crumbling around him, screaming "GLORIOUS PURPOSE" gave me literal chills. Knowing he was basically our Loki but surviving Thanos made it all the better.
MCU Loki truly is a hero, no matter which version. Can't wait for him to earn the title of "God of Stories" and cast the "Prince of Lies" title aside.
And the smile he made before dying, it was the exact same smile that represents loki
you had me until you said 'hero'
@@FumanyuX Oh absolutely hero. If you've read the comics, Loki proves time and time again that he's actually a hero at heart, despite his misdeeds. There's a reason he's now the "God of Stories" in the main universe, and not the "Prince of Lies".
Plus... The entire moral force behind the Loki show is that people can change. Mobius himself said Loki could be good if he wanted to be, and he does. Loki can be a hero. Main MCU Loki died a hero to try and save Thor and his people, and MCU ("Variant") Loki is well on his way to being one.
I mean he did kill like 80 people though.
@@Taospark He's adopted.
The fact that Classic Loki was only in the show for an episode and everyone is still very sad speaks to how good this show is

I mean, he is OUR Loki. The Loki from Infinity War who survived. How can we NOT love him in all his silliness and bravery?
@@marcelocapeljunior3579 No? Classic Loki is the old guy who appears in episode 5 of Loki, he has no relation to any previously seen Loki in the MCU and is a reference to the classic comic version of Loki from a looooooong time ago (before modern canon). His backstory was made to reference (and subsequently kill) fan theories about our Loki surviving the events of Infinity War - this is the version who did survive, but his infinity war was also not our infinity war and probably paralleled the classic comics more closely. Also, the modern Loki who is the protagonist of the show - the one I assume you meant to refer to - is not the primary Loki from Infinity War and the MCU who would be "our" Loki, he is simply an offshoot "variant" who was given free will by circumstance... which is pretty much his entire identity. He is the one who survived, yes, but he did not come from the main canon timeline. The one who died is "our" Loki.
Classic Loki's death hit me hard...
Classic
Same. He’s pretty much the Loki we are really familiar with if he didn’t confront Thanos. It was sad cause it felt like he was really our Loki

Classic Loki haven't seen Asgard for thousands for years, but he still remeber every detail of it, that's deep.
It really drove home how much he missed his home 😥
True. One theory is that he's had lots of practice re-creating it during all that alone time he had, because he misses it...
@@LeifWarner I like to think it was all in his head until the right moment for him to go home 😭🙌
Classic Loki died a true hero. If only Odin could see the kind of man he grew up to be.
If Odin has the ability to foresee events which I believe he does to a certain extent I'm sure he did see this. Which may explain one reason why Odin never took permanent measures with Loki knowing one day Loki will redeem himself.

All Lokies have rhe same power, but certain events dictate how far they unlock them. Classic Loki is the one who gained the most experience, Sylvie used her wits for her Charm, and Loki uses Illusions paired with his blade combat skills
Also, each of his powers corresponds with atleast four of the Infinity Stones
Illusions - Reality
Portals - Space
Charm - Mind

I'm actually quite blown away by the music, this isn't just cut and pasted theme music, it's a fully realized masterpiece. I hear so many instruments in there, and I don't detect any sound clipping or modulated voices or anything, and the crescendos are intense. It's really well written. Striking, simply striking.
Natalie Holt is a master! The more I listen, the more I notice leitmotifs everywhere 🤩
Is very operatic
well composed*
The choir steals the show for me!!
the fact that Natalie Holt is using the Ride of the Valkyries here is amazing
The fact this song was composed based off of "Ride of the Valkyries" just gives me so many goosebumps. Loki spent his life wanting to do good (even though he often did it through evil means) and dreaming of being a hero (Sylvie's flashback shows they admired the Valkyries) and finally they have a chance to be good regardless, and they get properly rewarded with their own version of Ride of the Valkyries. The show's composers did an estellar job with this soundtrack (and this version is amazing Sam, you always rock!)
Not to mention the symbolism of the score....The Valkyries choose the bravest and strongest of the fallen to take to Valhalla...in this case it was heralding Classic Lokis glorious sacrifice.
@@Cryogenius333 That was just so fucking smart by the director/composer idk who said "when he dies, play ride of the Valkyrie" that's just
wow. ITS THE BEST SYMBOLISM IN MEDIA TODAY

I think honestly that's why Sylvie was pruned. The TVA couldn't have a Goddess of Mischief that loved the Valkyries (my head cannon says she might have grown up to be one if it was allowed)
The most bitter sweet sendoff of a "Side Character" that I've ever seen. Absolutely badass and satisfying and for anyone else "Flight of the Valkyries" would have just been a wonderful theme, but for a Loki? Playing a song associated with messangers who take those who die a "worthy" death to Valhalla for a Norse character? The moment I noticed the music I just sagged in my chair like "Oh no..."
i didn't understand the meaning of the song but I did recognize that tune and some how, even though in my gut I knew he was dying, it felt Just, like the only *True* way a Loki can die, y'know-?
@@DarkRelm22 Eeking out some kind of victory and laughing in his killer's face? Yes, that's how a real Loki goes out.

Would've been a bit complicated to throw him into the mix because his back story is so vast and complex. Though I feel our main Loki is a lot like Agents of Asgard Loki since he's also trying to change and redeem himself, just like AoA Loki.

This entire episode was amazing... well, the whole show is amazing so that's no surprise
This has by far been one of my favourite episodes
Not only does he project a perfect illusion of a city he hasn't seen for a thousand years, but he also sends lightning strikes down from the sky in memory of his brother. Can you imagine that his final laugh is not one of mockery, but of happiness to see the Valkyries come looking for him to enter Valhalla?
Yes. Exactly this. I'm sure he stopped seeing Alioth the moment he starts laughing because if you notice on the side shot he also stopped trying to cast an illusion. I imagine King Brunhilde herself returned for him.
Classic Loki did something truly Glorious
This show elevated Loki through the roof. If people still worship him this must be the year of Loki as he has had multiple great performances this year, starting with that show Ragnarok and its Loki then all the various Loki’s alongside Silvy (lady Loki) and our Loki.
inject this episode straight into my veins
Classic Loki went out LIKE A BOSS! I really hope he is still alive and continues to be a savage
"I am Loki of Asgard and I have a glorious purpose"
This always gets me right in the feels...what hurts the most is that Loki sacrifices everything....almost all of the Loki's sacrificed for this glorious purpose. They didn't ask for recognition, or thanks, just did what had to be done, for fate, for the universe, for their friends...

Glorious Purpose!!! In the end gator Loki shall ascend to the throne.
Classic loki went out more heroically then Thor ever could have. Laughing all the way down. Rip old trickster, your sacrifice will not be in vein.
Thor may be the stronger brother, but what Loki lacks in strength, he makes up for in wit. A snake and a lion both have their own appeal.
I played this while fighting the final boss, and the song ended as I killed it.
Never have I felt more badass
Now that the multiverse has been opened, I hope there’s a universe where Classic Loki got to go back home to Asgard
An old dude in a silly costume appearing only for an episode totally won me over 90% of the characters I've seen on-screen in the last 2 years.
