So glad these guys are finally getting the recognition they deserve, absolute magicians when it comes to there instruments
They have always been getting the recognition they deserve though!
@@JamesWilsonMD I dunno man, I feel like this year he’s finally gotten into the limelight he deserves especially on a show like Jools Holland. Starting to get more mainstream attention if you know what I mean
Fire Town in the mixs
Jazz at its finest
Bout time!! These boys have been creating a crazy scene “underground”, wildly acclaimed bunch of musicians deserving every ounce of it
Credits:
Drums: Yussef Dayes
Bass: Rocco Palladino
Keys: Elijah Fox
Sax: probably Venna, I can't be sure
Percussion: I don't know, sorry.
The Songs are 'Black Classical Music' AND 'Afro Cubanism'. The video title only references one song when there's two.
Thanks. Probably Alexander Bourt on percussion.
That's definitely Venna
Malik Venna on sax
I've been playing this on a loop to our two months old. He loves it!
Bro has good taste
For me as a Dutch person this is the ultimatum summers evening music. A nice beer, this music and just unwind....
Yussef & Co. are the future.👌
Well isn’t that just what everyone needed today….immense ❤
Wow!! This is jazz bang up to date. Totally amazing!
"This is jazz bang up to date" puts words on the feeling I got too, thank you. I was thinking it sounds so authentically bebop and old-school AND YET so authentically today, not like it's trying to just recreate an old vibe. So good!
Weak version of music 50 years old
Young Rocco P., great job.
These great jazz fusion new artists should record also funk records with singers as legends like stanley clarke and george duke used to do ....one great example is the amazing masterpiece from stanley ckarke LET ME KNOW YOU
Yussef’s latest album has tracks with vocals 😊
Just awesome.. very Lonnie Liston-esque - love it!
They are coming to Nashville next week I bought my tickets earlier this year, I can't wait!!!!! Also I'm happy the camera man gave some love to Rocco palladino on that Yamaha 🎸
I was loving this on later. Refreshing to see some real musical talent for a change. 👌🏻
this is pure love
Wow, I didn't realize until now that your own mixing is so much better.
This is really old school mixing, a little muddy and distanced, and, man, almost no bass. I'm glad that your absolutely gorgeous music usually has way more personality through up to date mixing artistry! Just heard Tioga Pass again for reference. The difference in sound makes me smile all over my face
agree 100%: where's the bass in this?!
What the fuck are you talking about. That's not old school mixing, it's proper mixing where not everything is slammed and limited to death...
Also did you just really compare a studio recording with a live broadcast?
not at all. We are in fact comparing this pretty crap live recording sound with THIS incredible live recording sound for example th-cam.com/video/XjdSSMBm0Oc/w-d-xo.html. Many of their recent recorded live sessions have had amazing sound. @@mirkomarkovic3438
I prefer the Rory Cashmere mixes than this, it sounds way softer with less impact, and I think drum and bass is a central part of Yussef's sooud
I know it's incomparable, but it reminds me of a John Coltrane maybe the English jazz scene with Youssef Dayes at the helm will be the future of this musical genre! 🙂
you're not alone with this feeling...whatever is happening right now is serious...can't take my eyes off it!
@@aptmixthis is just a piss poor version of music that’s been around since the 60s.
@@Junglesmells take your negative energy elsewhere
@@Junglesmellsyou sound slow
@@Junglesmells you are just a piss poor version of your parents, who have been around since the 60s
Love it! Great to see them on Later!
BLACK CLASSICAL MUSIC ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Is that the name of the album also ….thanks in Advance
Wow a truly wonderful show tonight.
Big up to Doctah B. Sirius for the recommendation - spiraling up with this one! Abundance ❤
Nice man rocking the traditional grip, for certain types of music it just works, especially when you don’t need tons of volume and power, altho anyone who’s seen Virgil Donato knows you can still get power with trad grip
Flexatone is such a beast instrument 👍
One more Gem!
Came for Roisin but they were absolutely amazing!
I am so happy and thankful that music is more than streams and numbers and and and...
This is a joy to watch and listen to. What powerful sound 👍🏼

Nick abbot brought me hear !
❤🙏
It’s a bit of a strange thing to say, but at times, this feels like a jazz version of something you might hear on Opeth’s Blackwater Park. Incredible performance, stunning musicianship, and ofc, the compositions are phenomenal.
Superbe 👍
