- Hello friends, today I am milling a cant out of a southern yellow pine log. I plan on using these to build my blacksmith shop. Hope you enjoy the video and have a Blessed Day Friends! Justin

I bought that apparatus from a buddy and have a couple of felled pines. This video couldn’t have come at a better time. Thanks for the opportunity to see how (well) it works. Much gratitude young sir.
Thank you very much. Glad it was a help to you. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
I just bought an Alaskan, can’t wait to try it, great video, well done! Thanks!
Have fun making your own lumber! Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
That Stihl was doing a good job!
I love this old saw. It has never given me a minute of trouble in almost 20 years of owning it. Have a Blessed Evening Friends! Justin
Could this be done on a bench? At my age crawling on the ground is not very comfortable.
It can be but for me it is easier to just roll it on the ground and get it started. Now what I need is a bandsaw mill Lol. That would be a real time saver but I don't mill enough to justify that right now. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
Nice, how did the Amish or pioneers do it, hand saws?
They would hewn the log with an adze. This was a broad ax that was made just for this. We are going to the mountains soon and the cabins are always my favorite. Have a Blessed Evening James. Justin
Enjoy your time with the family 😀
Did the saw do ok oiling the bar?
Yes it does. I have the oiler all the way up and have milled a lot with the saw and 24 inch bar. Never had the bar get hot and has always done good/ Just got through cutting (2) 8x8 and (3) 4x4's today. I would recommend a 70cc or bigger saw if cutting 16 inch or bigger logs.
