LC was boring to watch back then.However I will follow up quickly to that and say that I loved LC once she moved to The Hills and I absolutely love the woman she's turned into. Kristen is literally the same person as she was back then. Same mannerisms...everything...but just a more "mature" version. Same cadence in voice, same sarcasm...this is why she is an icon. Steven on the otherhand...wow...its so nice seeing him grown up and he is so well spoken....to me a different person. I love these episodes :D

Rewatching laguna beach with Whitney and Timmy made me realise that Kristin was a strong, confident, driven young woman. I think women today can learn a lot to stand up for themselves. Such a shame that back then, being that way you get labelled a “bitch”
I was always a fan of Kristen. I think I was the only person of my friends that wasn’t a LC fan. I could just see through the facade better I guess. Also, I thought Steven was the sh*t back then but after re-watching the series, I realized he was kind of a f*ck boy by today’s standards. It so weird how people mature and find out new things about the world. I never like LC because she was always scheming after Kristen’s boyfriend but now I see that Stephen totally led her on. They definitely all matured as we all do it sucks that the whole world got to see it.
SO MUCH CHEMISTRY. but you can tell they have matured - but they still value and respect one another - but the giggles, laughter, and yes chemistry STILL THERE.
I appreciate Kristen so much more now when I look back at Laguna Beach. She was young, confident and just ready to have fun! She didn’t take life too seriously and really enjoyed her youth as we all should! She did let let anyone step all over her and she was straight up. Love her!

I’m so happy they filmed this - this show made me wanna be a SoCal kid. They still have so much chemistry even after all these years. It totally changed my viewpoint/expectation on what a high school experience and what young love could be like. Long after the show aired I would watch season one and two over and over each summer. I remember when I was 11/12 watching them, I wanted to be like Kristin sooo badly. I love her personality & who she is as a person. She's so inspiring & always been a role model. As french teenager when the show started, I wasn’t allowed to watch any reality tv show. I had to convice my mom and dad that i was watching LB to learn the « real » english.. I even make them buy MTV France on our tv… Thank you soooo much for talking about it, can’t wait to watch the next episode.

We didn’t know how corrupt the industry could be then and what was happening behind scenes. I’m sure it was very damaging to all of the young people on these types of shows. They were just kids too! Wild to think about. Nonetheless, we loved the content and it brings back so many memories. The producers knew what they were doing, that’s for sure!

I was obsesssedddd with Laguna Beach in high school. I wanted to be like you guys so much. It totally changed my viewpoint/expectation on what a high school experience and what young love could be like. Long after the show aired I would watch season one and two over and over each summer. I love finally getting these inside scoops! Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
I remember when I was 11/12 watching them, I wanted to be like Kristin sooo badly. I love her personality & who she is as a person. She's so inspiring & always been a role model. I would even act & speak like her too when I was little & even now sometimes. I love them both soo much!! I'm so glad we're all reminiscing together from our favourite TV show, Laguna Beach!!! I am so glad back in those days that I had no clue Laguna Beach was staged. I loved it so much and would have been heartbroken to know it wasn't real. Now, I'm older and it doesn't really matter because it's still a part of my past, real or staged.
Yes same, I graduated highschool the year this came out. I always like these two together. I love Kristens show, I love that we get to see the real her on it and the podcast. This seems to be giving these two closure, I'm still friends with my first love like these two. We both have so much love and respect for each other like them.

It’s so interesting seeing everyone who was on a reality TV show during this time talk about it now, almost 20 years later. We didn’t know how corrupt the industry could be then and what was happening behind scenes. I’m sure it was very damaging to all of the young people on these types of shows. They were just kids too! Wild to think about. Nonetheless, we loved the content and it brings back so many memories. The producers knew what they were doing, that’s for sure!
