The biggest problem with this show is that it normalizes personality disorders, such as borderline (Audrina) and narcissistic (Heidi, Spencer). The show labels it as drama, instead of correctly identifying as a helth issue. It sends the message to the viewers to not take responsibility for abusive behaviour, and in fact accept it as normal. Basically, this show advocates for emotional abuse.
In the early 2000s we just called it the normal ups and downs of life. While I agree that mental health issues happen to a select few, we need to stop giving everything a diagnosis. Being shy in the early 2000s is now suddenly “social panic disorder” 😂 🤦🏻♀️
