Yeah, I had to stop the podcast several times to rewatch certain scenes. Not a big deal, but def takes away from the fluidity of listening to it…🤷🏼♀️
I kinda feel the same. I don’t know if reactionary podcasts really work because the listener isn’t viewing what’s being discussed. And with it being sooo long ago, it’ll be blurry to most. I think the aim should’ve been studio set up watching each episode on film and reacting, with the podcast audio available. Rather than the podcast being the feature and YT being the after thought.

I will say, I always loved Kristins major confidence as a teenager, she seemed to get it early on lol. I don’t think they understand how nostalgic this show was, and how amazing in time it was for a lot of us born in 1988-1992. It was a time before social media, a time that was just so pure and authentic, and not all about being on your phones 24/7 (the outfits, the light makeup, the sidekicks, MySpace, TRL). A lot of us go back and watch it, to remember that time - so grateful to had been a teenager during that time!
yes! my sister was born in 92 and me in 94. I watched this show because of her (and probably grew up alittle faster..oops haha). But Laguna Beach started my love for MTV shows, The OC, myspace, Hollister etc.

Yeah but Kristin also said the love triangle was strongly forced by the producers and that she and Stephen actually had a good relationship that for the most part wasn’t shown. MTV would mostly choose to broadcast the times when they were not together.

Kristin was the risk taker who showed us young girls that you do not need to be what a “women” was supposed to be. It was quite liberating being 14/15 while watching season one. Kudos to Kristin for pushing us gals to live and enjoy life!
I agree with all good comments, but he interrupt her a lot of times since the beginning where she was trying to say something very excited and she simply let it go because he kept interrupting. I can see they're good friends and she doesn't care, but it's so annoying haha.

Maybe he’s still bitter from their break ups in a way. Because Kristin would say how her and Stephen were together and Stephen would be like “were we together at the time?” Like he wanted to make it seem like they were always off and never together so he can justify hanging out with Lauren. He did say he was heartbroken so maybe he wanted to forget their relationship all along

I loved Kristin on the show. I was like 20 years old and in love!! Right at that time he said he didn’t want to marry me so I decided I wasn’t going to follow him around like a puppy, I was going to be like Kristin. I went on dates with 2 other guys. When I got home from a date, he was waiting at my door and ended up proposing and we’re still married to this day. So thank you, Kristin!

As an avid viewer, Kristin was a hero. I know she doesn't like how she was portrayed but her strength was refreshing. Her strength and confidence was so inspiring as a kid. She was my fav character on the show(s) and why I still watch her to this day. Wow 18 years.
All true Laguna fans know season 1 was good but season 2 is the ICONIC season of LB! I cannot WAIT until you do season 2.

@@rrac04 LC and Stephen went to College but LC moved home second semester. Jessica and Jason were huge drama. They broke up and he started dating Alex M and LC. He ended up kissing Jessica in front of LC at the fashion show. Kristin was hooking up with Talan but Stephen was trying to win her back. They went to dinner together for Valentines Day. There were so many trips to Mammoth, Cabo, etc. They graduated and moved away to college. The season had better storylines IMO and just flowed better. Kristin was also a stronger narrator than LC.

I love that they are doing this.. this is like a Laguna Beach’s biggest fan’s dream come true for this podcast to exist. I loved the show when it aired and I love it still with my dvds. These two have such chemistry… looking forward to more episodes 🥰🥰🥰

I’m surprised neither of them brought up that in the intro, Lauren says things like “this is Stephen”, “this is Trey”, etc. but when it came to Kristin, she says “and that? THAT is Kristin.” 😂 brutal haha.
They did explain that intro was a script written for Lauren to read and it was made to put every person into a box. My guess is that's the reason Kristin wasn't bothered.
The fact they got paid $2000 for the season makes this absolutely iconic

Kristin is the type of girl people either love or hate, no in between. We’re bday twins (Capricornssss holla ♑️) and when i went back to watch Laguna Beach & The Hills a few months ago i related to her so much. But more so, i relate to how she talks about herself at those ages in retrospect.

Can we talk about how impressively convincing all those fake phone calls were??? I swear there are some actual actors out there that cannot fake a phone call to save their lives and these kids were SO CONVINCING on the phone
HOLY SHIT. Just rewatched the 2 seasons on Netflix and they seemed to act so normal for having cameras in their faces

This is the collaboration I’ve been waiting for. I’ve listened to the podcast audio and I’m so glad there is a video for this. Kristin and Stephen have great chemistry, I cried when Stephen had to leave for college and they spent time in his truck watching the sunset, love them and it showed how much they truly loved each other.
I was in college when this came out and I was definitely Team Kristin because it looked, to me, as if Lauren was trying to move-in on Stephen behind Kristin’s back.
I remember clicking on Laguna Beach "Looks" on the special features on the first season DVD, I was expecting it to be about their fashion! Clicked on it and about died when I realized that it was just all of the cast LOOKING at each other. 😂
Glad to see this on YT. The scenery, the homes, and the soundtrack caught my attention at first as I was way too old to be watching LB when it came out. I continued to watch out of curiosity to see what kids in this generation were experiencing and how much of this show was real. I really enjoyed the show. It was a good way to escape being an adult for a bit. Class of '96 here LOL. Great job Stephen and Kristin it's cool hearing the behind the scenes production. I noticed production messed up when Steven took Lauren on a date in an SUV but drove away "the next morning" in a pick up truck.

I love this. This show was everything growing up in high school. I loved laguna Beach and remember how the OC also was a huge deal back then. All of a sudden kids at school were wearing Hollister shirts with Laguna Beach on them. Thanks for the memories.

I always find it so fascinating when they say they don't remember the episodes. I have seen these episodes a million times over and could tell them what they did exactly, but they lived it and have no idea! lmao. I also find it funny that my whole generation finds it so nostalgic watching this show, which is why we watch over and over, but the people in the show haven't watched for 18 years. I know it was almost traumatizing for them because they had no idea what they signed up for, but I guess I always thought maybe they would want to relive their teenage years and rewatch because it seemed like so much fun. I remember watching while in grade 7/8 (I'm a '92 baby), and thinking that high school looked like so much fun. Then I got there and it wasn't nearly as crazy as laguna beach. If I were them I would looove to look back and remember all the crazy times! Anyways I'm just rambling now but I'm so happy they're doing this podcast and we get to learn so much behind the scenes stuff... although it's so crazy to me that laguna beach is considered the "real(est)" of all the MTV shows, but we're learning just how manipulated it was. Almost seems as fake as the hills... almost.

I remember watching this episode 😅😅😅. I loved it when Kristin would say to Steven "are you lying?". She'd say it with such a calm voice, I was like you go gurrrrrrrl haaaaaa!! Looking forward to the rest of the episodes. Laguna Beach is absolutely one of the most beautiful areas, a bunch of us in my childhood neighborhood went to Laguna every summer! 🌊🏖🌊🏖🌊🏖🌊🏖

I just got done watching Luguna Beach. I remember when it first came on. I had dropped out of school and had my 1st kid. I was working nights and was able to watch it when it first aired and I felt like I was one of the girls and when Lauren graduated I felt like I graduated too. So rewatching it all these years later brought back my younger years ❤
