I am 8 day post OP - still have a lot of radiating pain down both legs and numbness in my foot!
I was afraid I overdid the sitting- 1 hour in waiting room for my doctor- and relapsed my healing in my back.
Laying down a lot but now doing 10 min stints with my walking poles around my apartment- will go outside tomorrow and do several walking stints as I heard that helps the nerve to heal

Thank you so much for including bathroom expectations & strategy, I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere how to go. With the no blt rule I expected a bedpan and am glad that isn't the case

You said you had herniated disc why didn’t you undergo a endoscopic spine surgery instead of mircrodisectomy surgery ?
Isn’t endoscopic spine surgery for removing the herniated disc ?

Because that is what the doctor recommended

I don’t know how people who are dealing with a disc problem would give a shit about having sex. And their partner should not mention it until they are ready if they actually care about you.

What was the cost? Asking for broke dad with no health insurance.

My surgery took longer so I had to pay for two anesthesiologists, and I ended up having to stay in the hospital for three nights. $15,000

God we are so lucky- everything is paid for by our health care-the first appointment with Neurosurgeon, operation, hospital, rehab, physiotherapy - I am in Germany

This may seem like a stupid question but after the surgery and recovering ❤️‍🩹 are you able to touch your toes and pick things up with a rounded back? Im not saying picking up something heavy but like round your back to pick up your shoes and socks stuff like that? Or is this a moment you should never do?

@@AntonioDiaz Not a stupid question at all! I bend over all the time now, but make sure I lift anything heavy with the proper form. Physical therapy was a great asset for teaching proper bending form and lifting form, plus helping me to get past the fear of moving again.
