Semiconductor is microchips. It's everywhere, not just futire tech. Without chips, basic will not work, your lift will not work, auto or semi auto washing machine, tv, microwave oven, smart phone, digicam, laptops, desktop, nothing will work. Anything which is electronics is semiconductor. Anything which is smart is semiconductor. Bangalore is RnD center of the world for semiconductor design. Every big semicon has its RnD in India. What is missing is manufacturing. Coz it's a costly affair and margins are low. TSMC is manufacturing almost evey chip in the world which is not manufactured by intel or samsung. Noida has some electronic manufacturing. It's a strategic sector and any country that controls chip will control the world. Sadly, inspite of having the best brain as Indians behind hw and sw tech in the world, India doesnot have a single rnd in HW and SW
Infy and tcs and everybody else is just making apps and products on existing core sw made by big US companies. Sap, java, android, microsoft or apple Os are not indians and the so-called young and famous tech entrepreneurs don't even dare to do that in India. They try to make fast money
Respect for ploticians and technocrats in govt. who are trying to do something in this regard.

I am lower middle class boy, if I want to make fortune i cannot enter into politics or business it's like turning the world upside down so the easy way out for me is to either prepare for government job, become a doctor or get into big tech , people who actually have power to start research and development,Indian bureaucratic process is way too complex for them , they choose easy way out to settle in other countries
