Does anyone remember building a RC car from a kit EVERYTIME you bought one? If you couldn't do it yourself the hobby shop would build it for you for $100. So you had to learn everything inside and out about your Hornet, RC10T or Kyosho Scorpion and saved the money to purchase a Electronic Speed Control because they came with a mechanical one.

    • @glb5053

Hell yeah. I always preferred the kits, still do. My first was a Tamiya Sonic Fighter.

Wish your company would build one with selectable 2wd and 4wd. I'd like to be able to run 2wd with open or locked diffs. The dig option is okay I guess for competition, but you could just as easily give it the ability to run 2wd

Awesome! About time axial puts the engine on the front like the real deal! That way it would be a lot easier to put a different jeep or any other hard body on the chassis. I also hope that they include the spare tire in the near future. ✌😎👍

I can appreciate that the interior is removable. I'm not a big fan of scale interiors. I also like the back plate on the body. That should give structural strength to mount a tire instead of getting a metal bumper with a mount. I can't wait to get one and upgrade everything with brass! Those tires look pretty big. I'm wondering if there will be clearance for 2.2 tires.

The tires are way too big for the track width. They look like 42's that is too big for a lightly modded scale jeep. 38's max. And it would be nice to see something other than a fricken Rubicon, do a 2 door or a derailed 80's jeep. Come on guys, beautiful truck, but let's up the originality in the looks department.

I feel like this is the first time axial has really combined scale looks with performance. All that being said, ToddBertram brings up a good point, none of this would be seen on a slightly modified wrangler. But I could easily buy it with a J40 body that’s been modded for crawling.
I just hope the price is somewhat reasonable. Otherwise I’ll stick with my 10 I and Tamiya stuff.

I watched RC Review's video of this thing yesterday. Definitely a well built machine. I might have to get it TBH. Are you going to have other body shell offerings or would I have to buy one from companies like Proline for instance? I like Jeep, but am not really a fan of the JK models. I see too many "snobby" people driving them. I have a 2000 Cherokee on an 8 inch lift and 35's. Can fit 37's pretty easily though. If Axial wont, will the interior and the body mounting system work with a body from the SCX10 2?

You do have to have all the right tools for one, good tools, and experience is very helpful but not a must. I would say do it, but not if you have two thumbs. The beginner should take his or her time and ask for help if needed. Plus, usually the RTR are less better equipped, often in the shock, link, extra dept. And lastly the pride and satisfaction of building what you run.
