Like, take for instance, Sticker Star compared to every other Paper Mario game, especially its predecessors. But even if you haven't played Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby Planet Robobot (everyone's favourite Kirby game that is part of what made the franchise one of the best), Shovel Knight, Luigi's Mansion 2, Bravely Default, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, etc, you would know after playing PMSS that they too will also be masterpieces by comparison!)
As someone who reentered the 3ds library in April, the games I’ve picked up and enjoyed would be Fire Emblem Fates Metroid Samus Returns I hope to get the 3ds Pokémon games before they rise up in price, as the 3ds and Wii U eshop will close in March 2023.
Still better for portable gaming today. I beat dragon quest 8 during my break at work last year, don't think I would do that with the switch. Lots of good old school games to play too, I'm currently on chrono trigger. Even the switch lite is too big to put in your pocket like a new 3ds xl can. It is the best gameboy.
Excellent video, great choices. I just recently did my top 10 favorite JRPGs on the 3DS and it’s always great seeing how robust the library for this device is.

Fire Emblem Echoes is SO GOOD! definitely my favorite Fire Emblem, period. it combines old school charm, with a bit of modern polish. a quintessential FE experience.

If you havent played either of these yet try out Bravely Default and Fantasy Life both are great RPGs that very much call back to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest (but if it had a real time combat system) respectively. Sadly Fantasy Life is no where near as dark as I like RPG stories to be but it is a game that I've put probs 100 hours into despite that so I can certainly say it was super fun.
My personal top ten are the following 1. Bravely Default 2. Bravely Second 3. Dragon Quest 8 4. Pokemon Super Mystery Duneon 5. Pokemon ORAS (gen 3 has always been a favorite of mine not quite as high in my ranking as 4 or 5 but darn close only not higher cause it's too easy even with extreme nuzlocke rules) 6. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate 7. Dragon Quest 7 (still a bit long for my taste but far better than the original imo) 8. Rhythm Thief (a fun rhythm game where you're an art thief what's not to love) 9. Radiant Historia 10. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (really liked the Island challenge in the original and the changes that were in these remakes personally made it an even better experience for me) Honorable Mentions Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask (some of the changes to the games just slowed them down to much compared to the original versions and as such I can't recommend them over the originals)

I was so disappointed when “FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia” was announced because it wasn’t “FE4: Genealogy of the Holy War” getting remade instead. But I gave it a shot, and it became one of my favorite “FE” games also! And I love “DQ 8”, but prefer the PS2 version for the symphonic soundtrack and better graphics. (If there was ever a game that needed a Steam/modern console re-release with some HD visuals, it’s “DQ8”.)

Man, the original 3ds eshop theme fills me with nostalgia that nothing else does.

I’ve never owned my own 3DS, so I haven’t played very many titles, but seriously, YOKAI WATCH. It’s like Pokémon, but RTS, and so charming.
